Abstract

Teh hijau memiliki nama spesies Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze, family Theaceae dan Jati belanda (Guazuma ulmifolia Lam.) termasuk kedalam family sterculiaceae Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah melakukan standarisasi ekstrak air daun jati belanda dan ekstrak air the hijau. Ekstrak distandardisasi dengan beberapa dua parameter yaitu parameter spesifik dan parameter non spesifik. Kadar sari larut air pada jati belanda 12,88 % dan teh hijau 40,88, sedangkan kadar sari larut etanol pada jati belanda 4, 23 % dan pada teh hijau 4,23 %. Hasil pengujian kandungan kimia menunjukkan pada ekstrak jati belanda mengandung saponin dan flavonoid sedangkan pada teh hijau mengandung tanin dan flavonoid. Kadar air ekstrak daun jati belanda 0,95 % dan teh hijau 2,79%. Hasil kadar abu total jati belanda sebesar 37,61% dan teh hijau 36,84%. Kadar abu tidak larut asam yaitu pada jati belanda sebesar 3,54% dan teh hijau 3,77%. Hasil dari penetapan susut pengeringan pada ekstrak jati belanda yaitu 0,46 % dan teh hijau 0,46 %. Ekstrak jati belanda maupun teh hijau berdasarkan pengujian standarisasi meliputi parameter spesifik dan non-spesifik memenuhi standarisasi mutu bahan baku.

Abstract

Nyirih is a plant from the Meliaceae family with the Latin name Xylocarpus granatum J.Koeing, this nyirih spreads in tropical waters and does not cluster in certain areas. This study aims to determine the total phenolic content of the stem bark extract of nyirih (Xylocarpus granatum J.Koeing) using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. The stem bark extract of nyirih (Xylocarpus granatum J. Koeing) was obtained with maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. Determination of total phenolic content based on the Folin-Ciocalteau method, where the addition of 7% sodium carbonate provides an alkaline atmosphere that will produce phenolic ions. Furthermore, it will reduce Follin to form a blue complex. At a maximum wavelength of 755 nm, the results showed that the average total phenolic content of the stem bark extract of nyirih (Xylocarpus granatum J. Koeing) was 6.163 mg GAE / g extract.

Abstract

One of the herb plants, purple Roselle flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa L), used to traditionally for various diseases. The aim of this research is to determine the total phenolic content of ethanol extract of purple Roselle flowers. Sample as many one kilograms extracted by maceration method using ethanol 96%. Resulty 120 grams thick extract. Total phenolic content determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometer at wave leght 743 nm with gallic acid as standard reference with Folin-Ciocalteau reagent. The result show the rendamen of ethanolic extract 12% with total phenolic content 1.6726 %.

Abstract

Isolation and Identification of free radical active compound from stem bark soursoup (Annona muricata L.) extract. The aim of this research is to observe the chemical compound of stem bark the soursoup (A. muricata L.) which is active as a free radical. 550 gram of stem bark the soursoup (A. muricata L.) was by graduate extracted using n-heksan, ethyl acetat and ethanol solvents respectively. Extract result is the extraction, it was produced 2.4 gram n-heksan extract, 8.4 gram ethyl acetat extract, 2.1 gram ethanolic extract. The isolation of ethyl acetat extract was conducted using colom chromatography (TLC) method using eluent n-hexane : ethyl acetat (7:3) and it was produced four fractions. The third fraction was isolated using preparative thin layer chromatography with mob ile phase n-hexane : ethyl acetat (6:1) and got 2 bands. The isolate identified by UV-Vis spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy and analyzed by chemistry reaction. From the data result show that isolate is acetogenin.

Abstract

Minnie root (Ruellia tuberosa L.) belongs to Acanthaceae family. In traditional medicine has been used as diuretic, antidiabetic, antipyretic and antihypertensive and it also recently been incorporated as a component in a herbal tea in Taiwan. This research is aim to determine LC50 value of Minnie root leaves extract (Ruellia tuberosa L.) to Artemia salina Leach shrimp larvae. Dryed samples extracted by graduate maceration with n-hexan, ethyl acetate and ethanol respectively. Rendamen n-hexane extract obtained as much as 1.158%, ethyl acetate extract as much as 2.017% and ethanol extract as much as 3.669 %. Based on qualitative screening used TLC method, ethyl acetate extracts and ethanol extracts of Minnie root (Ruellia tuberosa L.) leaves contain alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid and phenolic compounds. Toxicity assay Artemia salina Leach shrimp larvae have been conducted on leaves extracts of Minnie root (Ruellia tuberosa L.). Toxicity assay on sample extract of Minnie root (Ruellia tuberosa L.) leaves determine by counting the number died of larvae after 24 hours treatment. LC50 on sample calculated by probit analysis method. The toxicity assay showed LC50 of ethyl acetate extracts and ethanol extracts are toxic with LC50 266.07 ± 0.93 µg/mL and 142.160 ± 1.30 µg/mL.

Abstract

Basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum L.) the plant of the family Lamiaceae that can act as a free radical scavenger, flavonoid compounds. The aim of this research to determine and calculate the IC50 (Ocimum basilicum L.) that has activity as a free radical based on the binding free radical (1,1 diphenyl picryl-hydrazyl). Samplemasceration with ethanol, where in the amount of the extract obtained is 10.16 gr. At the free radical scavenging test ethanol extract has moderate activity with IC50 value is 52.68 μg/mL lower than quercetin with IC 50 value is 1.8 μg/mL.

Abstract

The isolation of n-hexane extract from Sweet Flag rhizome (Acorus calamus L.) was done. The aim of this research is to obtain β-asarone isolate as marker compound of   Sweet Flag (Acorus calamus L.). Sample from 1 kg of dried rizhome, mascerate using n-hexane. This process produce 31 ml thick extract. Isolation of n-hexane extract using column chromatography with isocratic methode using n-hexane etil acetat 8 : 2.  The isolate identified by UV-Vis spectroscopy,  IR spectroscopy,  (1H) NMR and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectro. From the data result show that isolate is β-asarone.

Abstract

Sea holly leaves (Acanthus ilicifolius L.) belongs to Acanthaceae family, contain flavonoid compounds, alkaloids, an phenols. This research aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of sea holly leaf extract by free radical damping method 1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazil (DPPH). The extraction method multilevel maseration using n-hexane extract, ethyl acetate extract, and ethanol extract is 1,55%, 0,65% and 4,97% respectively. On each extract, the antioxidant activity was assayed by DPPH free radical inhibition method by measuring is absorbance at the maximum wavelength of 515nm using UV-VIS spectrophometer with quercetin compound as comparator. The result of antioxidant assay showed that IC50 value, ethanol extract is 34,659 μg/mL (strong antioxidant), ethyl acetate extract is 162,512 μg/mL (weak antioxidant), n-hexane extract is361,730 μg/mL (not active as antioxidant).

Abstract

Mahoni is a medical plant which have the potential as drug. The aims of this research were to analysis phytochemical content and to test the toxicity of ethanol extract of seed from Mahoni. The Phytochemicals that analyzed were total phenolic, total flavonoid and condensed tannin. Toxicity test was assessed using BSLT method. Extraction was done by maseration method using ethanol as the solvent. In BSLT method, the shrimp larvae were placed in a series of test solution of varied concentration. The value of LC50 were obtained based on calculation of shrimp larvae lethality percentage using probit analysis. LC50 values of ethanol extract were 0,95 ppm.

Abstract

Red Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) is a medicinal plant used by the public as drugs. This plant is efficacious because one contains chemical constituents are flavonoids. Comparative Study of total Flavonoid content in red Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) from North Luwu district of South Sulawesi province and the province of East Java Kediri district has done. The aim of study to determine of total flavonoid content in Kediri regency and district of North Luwu using a spectrophotometer. Extraction is done by maceration method using 96% ethanol. Phytochemical screening using the color reaction identification and determine content of Colorimetric method using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at the maximum wavelength of 417 nm. Meanwhile the yield extract red Rosellafrom Kediri (sample I) 12.703% and red Rosella from north Luwu (sample II) 10.44%. Test phytochemical to sample I and sample II positive containing Flavonoids. Test total Flavonoid content to sample I is 0.02816% and sample II is 0.2075%.
