Abstract

Farmers in Indonesia are very dependent on pesticides to protect their crops from pests. Farmers are one of the subjects who are susceptible to pesticides and can cause disease due to pesticide accumulation. One of the disease that can arise due to exposure to pesticides is liver damage. This study wanted to determine the effect of pesticide exposure on liver damage seen from AST and ALT enzyme levels using farmer respondents in the Mojokerto area of 25 respondents. From the results of the study it was found that AST levels were influenced by age (P = 0.017), length of work (P = 0.035), and PPE usage (P = 0.044), while age, work period, length of work and usage of PPE did not significantly influence to ALT levels. It can be concluded that age, length of work and use of PPE affect AST levels. Therefore, to prevent the occurrence of pesticide poisoning, farmers must obey the rules on the use of pesticides such as using PPE regularly and always consuming healthy food.

Abstract

Diabetes is a disease of metabolic disorders caused by poor production of insulin by the pancreas or due to the use of body insulin which is not maximal, causing interference. The main diabetes that often occurs in the community is type 1 and type 2 diabetes because of the influence of body insulin. Examination for detection is intended so that the public can find out about the presence of glucose in the urine so that the community can immediately recover faster, considering that if there is a glucose level in the urine, there is an increase in the level of glucose in the blood. The method used in this community service is to collect residents at the center, which is then carried out by examining the urine sample using a urine dysptic. Based on the results of examinations carried out on 62 people consisting of mothers and the elderly, it showed that there were 10 positive people or 19% of the total sample. This shows that early detection is important because there are still people who do not know the importance of early detection of disease in themselves, especially in the Kedung Pandan area.

Abstract

The nutritional status of a pregnant woman can be seen from several things, including the Body Mass Index and the diameter of the upper arm circumference. Urine glucose describes the state of glucose in urine. The well-being of a baby in the womb can be measured through the estimated fetal weight according to the gestational age. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and urine glucose on the estimated fetal weight. Using a cross sectional research method with a sample of 30 respondents taken at the Prima Husada Hospital Sidoarjo during May-July 2020. The results of the analysis of body mass index and estimated fetal weight obtained p value = 0.337 (> 0.05), on the upper arm circumference and estimates fetal weight obtained p value = 0.03 (<0.05) and in urine glucose and fetal weight estimates obtained p value = 0.19 (> 0.05). In conclusion, there is no relationship between body mass index and estimated fetal weight. There is a relationship between the circumference of the upper arm and the estimated fetal weight. And there is no relationship between urine glucose and estimated fetal weight. Women must prepare physically from before pregnancy to optimize future baby growth. Midwives must also regularly provide health education to improve women's health status
