Abstract

While madrasa is sometimes regarded as an undeveloped educational institution, it fosters cooperation, a unique quality that may assist students in surviving and succeeding in the twenty-first century. The purpose of this qualitative research is to examine how to improve student collaboration via group learning in madrasa. Documentation, interviews, and observations were used to collect the data. The descriptive-interpretive analysis reveals that madrasa may help students build collaborative attitudes via the use of group learning.  Programs implemented as a form of group learning, specifically curriculum design that incorporates the value of collaboration, formation of student research teams, cooperative learning, integration of madrasa-pesantren, habituation, and extra-curricular activities, can improve student’ attitudes toward collaboration.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a pluralistic country, has potentialities of conflict at anytime as frequent violence has happened in Indonesia. Therefore, pluralism value has to be early introduced to the students in order to make them accustomed to a democratic attitude, and in turn, able to live in the diverse society harmoniously. Education has an important role to instill pluralism and tolerance values to students. It is a strategic way to socialize the values of tolerance, moderation, respect, and empathy, and to develop an attitude for learners in responding to the pluralism. This study will qualitatively discuss the role of pesantren in internalizing pluralism values to students in responding to a diverse society. It focuses on how the curriculum is constructed, instruction is done for the sake of creating a school culture for holding education that addresses pluralistic values. This study shows that pesantren with a pluralism based religious education is an effective basis for internalizing the values of pluralism to perform tolerance and inclusiveness to prepare the students to live in a pluralistic or diverse society.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning model for slow learner students in Higher Education. Slow learners are students who have low learning achievements under the average, either in one area or in all academic areas. This type of research was research and development using the ADDIE approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The developed learning model was project-based learning. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis used two approaches, namely qualitative and quantitative. The results of the study showed that project-based learning due to the activity level had increased compared to before using the PBL model. The result of the coefficient of determination revealed that the value of R square (R2) was 0.064 or 6.4%. This shows that the student activity was able to influence the variation of learning outcomes by 6.4% and the remaining 93.6% was influenced by other variables outside this research model. Thus, it is necessary to have a variety of strategies used by lecturers in delivering lectures, especially in a class where slow learners exist. In addition, attention and assignments also need to be given to slow learners so that they can attend lectures and understand the material presented properly and correctly like other students. For researchers, it is necessary to conduct further studies and research for the development of various learning models that are suitable for the needs of slow learner students.

Abstract

The learning process is not fully student-centered. Assessment tends to give a score and ignore the ability to think critically. It is necessary to change the use of learning strategies, methods and media that activate students more in the learning process to develop critical thinking skills, in this case the use of Mentimeter media can be an alternative. This study aims to determine the implementation of the mentimeter application in learning Al Islam Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) on Ramadan fasting material, and find out how mentimeter media can improve critical thinking skills in third-diploma students in nursing, Muhammadiyah University of Pekajangan Pekalongan consisting of 32 students in class A as class experiment and 34 students in class B as the control class. This research method uses a type of quantitative research with quasi-experimental methods, pre-test research design and post-test control group design. Based on the prerequisite test these two groups were not homogeneous and not normally distributed. The results of the study used the Mann Whiteney test and it was known that the Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00 0, which is less than 0.05, according to the Mann Whitney U test decision-making basis it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there are significant differences in learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class. The findings from this study indicate that media meter can effectively improve critical thinking skills.
