Abstract

The problems in this study discussed the ability of second grade in SMP N 4 Solok Selatan listening to the news by elements 5W +1 H. Listening theory used in learning theory by Tarigan (2008:31). For elements of the  theoretical used 5W +1 H is theory by Suhandang (2004:122 - 123). This research is quantitative descriptive method theory by Arikunto (2006:10). Data was collected using the test. The test used is objective test with four alternatives A, B, C, and D.             This study aimed to describe the ability of second grade in SMP N 4 Solok Selatan find elements 5W +1 H in the news. The data analysis show that the ability to listen what element (What) obtained average ability students 51.04% at nearly qualified enough (HC). The ability to listen to the news element who (Who) obtained average ability students 51.39% at nearly qualified enough (HC). The ability to listen to the news element when (When) obtained average ability students 61.11% at sufficiently qualified (C). The ability to listen to the news element where (Where) obtained average ability students 52.78% at nearly qualified enough (HC). The ability to listen to the news element of why (Why) obtained average ability students 55.56% at sufficiently qualified (C). The ability to listen to the news element of how (How) obtained average ability students 54.17% at nearly qualified enough (HC). From the results of this study concluded that the ability to listen to news of second grade in SMP N 4  Solok Selatan in general was 54.3% at nearly qualified enough (HC) with a value range of 46-55%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the first, low motivation of students in reading comprehension because reading materials available bit. Second , the method used is less interesting and less varied. Third, the lack of student interest in learning writing skills especially writing paragraphs deductive. Fourth, the lack of students skills in reading comprehension and deductive writing paragraphs. This study aims to determine the relationship kamampuan reading comprehension with writing paragraphs deductive skills class XI SMA Negeri I Pasaman Two Koto. This research is quantitative research using descriptive methods , Arikunto ( 2002:10 ). The population in this study were students of class XI SMA Negeri I Two Koto Pasaman totaling 190 people. Proportional random sampling technique sampling , sample numbered as many as 40 people. Analysis using the formula korelasi.Berdasarkan outcomes research is that, first reading comprehension ability of students are on qualification" more than enough" with 66-75 % mastery level on a scale of 10. Second, deductive paragraph writing skills students are on qualification " reasonably " with 56-65 % mastery level on a scale of 10 Third there is a relationship with the reading comprehension skills of writing paragraphs deductive as seen from 5,926 t value is greater than the value of t table 2.021 .

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of students interest in reading comprehension and the learning technique which was used by the teachers is not very effective. The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of the use of complementary techniques to the ability of reading comprehension skill of is the students of junior high school sutera kabupaten pesisir selatan grade VIII. The type of this research is the qualitative research with experimental design. The population of this research is the students of junior high school sutera kabupaten pesisir selatan grade 8 year 2013/2014 with 287 students in total. The sample of this research is grade VIII 1 with 32 students, by using purposive sampling. The research data is the test result of reading comprehension of grade VIII 1 before and after using the paragraph completion. Based on the analysis, the data showed the reading comprehension skill of is the students of junior high school sutera kabupaten pesisir selatan grade VIII 1 are as followed. First, the reading comprehension skill of grade VIII 1 before using the paragraph completion has the mean of 64.04, with the range 56-65% with enough qualification. Second, the reading comprehension skill of skill of grade VIII 1 by using paragraph completion have the mean 71,25 with 66-75% qualification. Third, there is the influence of the reading comprehension skill of students grade VIII 1 with paragraph completion technique because t hitung(2,59) is bigger than t table (1,70) on the significant 95% and dk=n-2.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas kemampuan menentukan fakta dan opini pada teks berita siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Padang dengan menggunakan teknik pemodelan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menentukan fakta dan opini pada teks berita siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Padang dengan menggunakan teknik pemodelan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Populasi adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Padang tahun pelajaran 2013-2014. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 40 orang dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa. Pertama, kemampuan menentukan fakta pada teks berita siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Padang dengan menggunakan teknik pemodelan tergolong cukup (C) dengan mean 60,17 dibulatkan menjadi 60 pada rentangan 56-65%. Kedua, kemampuan menentukan opini pada teks berita siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Padang dengan menggunakan teknik pemodelan tergolong hampir cukup (HC) dengan mean 55 pada rentangan 46-55%. Ketiga, kemampuan menentukan fakta dan opini pada teks berita siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Padang dengan menggunakan teknik pemodelan tergolong cukup (C) dengan mean 58,9 dibulatkan menjadi 59 yang terdapat pada rentangan 56-65%.

Abstract

Membaca merupakan bagian yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dalam seluruh kegiatan proses belajar yang dialami siswa selama menuntut ilmu di sekolah. Dalam KTSP, pembelajaran membaca terdapat dalam Standar Kompetensi (SK) ketiga, yaitu  Memahami ragam wacana tulis dalam membaca intensif dan membaca nyaring. Masalah penelitian ini dibatasi pada kemampuan membedakan paragraf deduktif dan paragraf induktif melalui kegiatan membaca intensif  siswa kelas XI  SMA N 2 Batang Kapas Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Sedangkan untuk  membedakan paragraf deduktif dengan paragraf  induktif  siswa harus mampu  membedakan ide pokok dengan kalimat penjelas dalam sebuah paragraf. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian data perindikator adalah sebagai berikut  (1) kemampuan menemukan paragraf deduktif melalui kegiatan membaca intensif tergolong baik sekali (rata-rata hitungnya berada pada rentangan 86%-95%),  (2) Kemampuan menentukan paragraf induktif melalui kegiatan membaca intensif tergolong lebih dari cukup (rata-rata hitungnya berada pada rentangan 66%-75%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk membaca intensif khususnya dalam memembedakan paragraf deduktif dan paragraf induktif melalui kegiatan membaca intensif siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Batang Kapas tergolong baik.  Nilai rata-rata kemampuan membedakan paragraf deduktif dan paragraf induktif siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Batang Kapas adalah 82,12 dengan kualifikasi baik (rata-rata hitungnya berada pada rentangan 76-85%).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the ability to write reviews based on short stories written by fellow students using the Discovery Learning model with a quantitative research type, the research design used is one group pretest, post test, design. The population in this study were students of the F after using the Discovery Learning model it became 81.16 with Quality in the range of 76-85% good qualifications (B).
