Abstract

Blood donation nowadays were considered to improve health status of the donors by declining human’s cholesterol level. The high level of cholesterol inside the blood bags influenced the blood quality. However, there was limited data about cholesterol level and its influencing factor on the blood donors. This cross-sectional study aimed to analyse the associated factors of cholesterol levels in blood donors. This study involved 120 respondents using the purposive sampling as sampling method. Data was collected using questionnaires and blood cholesterol examination. The obtained data was analysed using univariate and bivariate statistic tests with significance level α=0.05. This study found that the majority of respondents aged 35-45 years (60.8%) and male (60.8%). More than half respondents were routine to donate their blood. Although they consumed cholesterol foods, their cholesterol level remained normal (88.3%). This study also found that blood donation had an association with cholesterol level p=0.000, while the other variables did not show any relationship. The normal cholesterol level among blood donors was influenced by frequent blood donation. Further study needs to be explored about the activities and the foods type to identify the cholesterol level among blood donors.

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic of the past three years has necessitated certain modifications to the management strategy, as health care professionals and diabetic patients cannot communicate directly. Technology is used to ensure that the management of Diabetes Mellitus remains intact. Using a bibliometric methodology, this study intends to examine the breadth of research on the application of telehealth to the management of Diabetes Mellitus during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Google scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct are used to search for research databases, and VOS-viewer is used to retrieve the search results. The analysis of 902 articles from 2020 to 2022 reveals the existence of three clusters (red, green, and blue) that illustrate the relationship between topics. Bibliometric mapping using three distinct visualization techniques, including network visualization, overlay visualization, and density visualization. The most frequent keywords are Covid, Diabetes Mellitus, and Telemedicine. Telemedicine plays an essential role in the care of Diabetes Mellitus during a pandemic since it is simpler to communicate with patients due to limited interaction during lockdown, as seen by the analysis of the visualization above. Telehealth visits could be the subject of research that could be utilized to future studies.

Abstract

Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) experienced diabetes burnout, which influences the patient’s daily living. Some treatments had been introduced to reduce this burnout, but self-instructional training method remained unknown for its effectiveness. This study was aimed to analyse the influence of self-instructional training toward diabetes burnout syndrome. This research was a quasy-experimental study involving patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. About 72 respondents were chosen using purposive sampling. This study divided the respondents into control and treatment groups. The treatment group gained self-instructional training in 4 meetings. Data was obtained from pre-test and post-test using diabetes burnout scale questionnaire and analysed with Paired T-test and Independent T-test. Study results showed that the treatment group had a significant decrease in diabetes burnout (severe to low level) (p=0.000). Diabetes burnout score among treatment group was lower compared to the control group (24.69±4.73; 19.19±4.24). In the control group, there was no significant statistical reduction about diabetes burnout (p=0.110). Besides, this study presented the difference diabetes burnout syndrome between treatment and control group (p=0.000; p<0.05). This study showed self-instructional training could minimize the occurrence of diabetes burnout syndrome among T2DM patients. This method has been proven to influence patient’s behaviour positively.

Abstract

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a collection of symptoms or complaints in the form of physical, emotional, and behavioral that occur 7-10 days before menstruation.  Many theories state the cause of PMS, but one of the factors suspected of causing PMS is hormonal.  The imbalance of estrogen and progesterone hormones allows a person to experience Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS).  This study aims to analyze the correlation between the level of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) with the incidence of Excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) in undergraduate nursing students at STIKES KaryaHusada Kediri.  The research design used in this study is correlated with a cross-sectional approach.  The sample in this study was 165 people who were the whole population (Total Sampling).  Data analysis using Spearman rank.  The results showed that almost half of the respondents had moderate PMS and most of the respondents had EDS.  Analysis with the Spearman rank statistical test obtained an -value of 0.001 with an error level of =0.05, which means that there is a relationship between the level of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and the incidence of Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS) with the strength of the weak category (r=0.252).  Many factors can affect PMS and EDS conditions, perhaps one of the factors that can play a role in the form of bad living habits such as lack of physical activity and bad habits the form of playing with gadgets before going to bed.  Thus, changing life habits for the better such as increasing physical activity and reducing bad habits of playing with gadgets before bed with maximum use of 30 minutes can be a solution to prevent the occurrence of EDS, besides that sufficient physical activity can also reduce the perceived risk of PMS severity.  and also avoiding stressful and fatigue conditions can be the solution.

Abstract

The high level of physical activity carried out by school adolescents is one of the factors that causes the condition of the sprain strain to occur in students. The high enthusiasm for sports such as playing soccer, running and other sports can trigger the condition of a sprain strain that is difficult for students to avoid. Improving the health status of the school community can be done through various activities, one of which is the provision of first aid training for sports injuries (sprain strain) using the RICE method. Students of SMAN I Plosoklaten are a group of teenagers in a community setting who have a risk of health problems due to dynamic activities. First aid for a sprain strain can be a treatment that can be given immediately. This is to prevent the injury from getting worse. One method that can be used to treat cases of sprain strain is RICE (Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate) by keeping the leg that has a sprain strain still, compressing it with ice or cold water to relieve pain, Giving an elastic bandage to prevent swelling and also This can be done by elevating the injured body part to improve blood flow. Community service activities in the form of Sports Injury First Aid Training (Sprain Strain) at PMR SMAN I Plosoklaten are very positive activities to be carried out in order to disseminate health knowledge so as to increase the knowledge and ability of each student in providing assistance to muscle injuries.

Abstract

The condition known as hypertension is brought on by the body's elevated blood pressure as a result of the heart pounding too hard. Hypertension is caused by a variety of causes, including both modifiable and unmodifiable ones. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of alternate nostril breathing and walking exercise at home on the blood pressure of senior hypertension patients. A quasi-experiment with a pre-post test control group design methodology is used in the research design. Using the Total Sampling approach, 50 respondents with hypertension made up the research sample. In two weeks, the intervention was performed four times. The paired t-test results indicate that the combination of alternate nostril breathing and home-based walking exercise has an effect on blood pressure in the treatment group (both diastolic and systolic have p values = 0.000), while the control group experiences no change in blood pressure (diastolic has p values = 0.200 and systolic has p values = 0.195). The findings of the Independent T-Test demonstrated variations in blood pressure changes in both the systolic and diastolic domains between the treatment and control groups (diastolic p-value = 0.000), and systolic (p-value = 0.000). The findings of the Independent T-Test demonstrated variations in blood pressure changes in both the systolic and diastolic domains between the treatment and control groups ,diastolic (p-value = 0.000), and systolic (p-value = 0.000). Systolic and diastolic blood pressure drop as a result of an increase in endorphin chemicals and a decrease in cortisol. This calms and relaxes the body and balances the actions of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. It is advised that individuals with pre-elderly hypertension who are able to independently implement combination therapies in an attempt to control their blood pressure.
