Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh formula dan metode preparasi yang sesuai untuk preparasi salbutamol sulfat ke dalam pembawa vesikuler etosom. Preparasi dilakukan dengan metode panas (40oC) dan metode dingin (30oC) dengan variasi konsentrasi fosfatidilkolin sebagai pembentuk vesikel (2% dan 3%) dan etanol sebagai peningkat penetrasi ke dalam kulit (20%, 30%, dan 40%). Karakteristik vesikel yang dianalisis adalah ukuran, bentuk, dan efisiensi penjerapan vesikel. Ukuran dan bentuk vesikel diamati dengan mikroskop optik binokuler. Analisis efisiensi penjerapan dilakukan dengan metode spektrofotometri pada panjang gelombang 275.6 nm. Vesikel yang dihasilkan dari kedua metode berupa Small Unilamellar Vesicle (SUV) dengan ukuran vesikel pada metode panas adalah 31,3-48,8 nm dan metode dingin adalah 25,4-44,9 nm. Nilai efisiensi penjerapan salbutamol sulfat dalam vesikel etosom yang dipreparasi dengan metode panas yaitu 42,66% dan pada metode dingin yaitu 53,83%. Disimpulkan bahwa metode dingin lebih sesuai digunakan untuk preparasi salbutamol sulfat dalam pembawa vesikular etosom dengan konsentrasi fosfatidilkolin 2% dan etanol 40%.

Abstract

Wualae (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M. Smith) belonging to Zingeberaceae that spread in South East Sulawesi, empirically used as staple and treatment. The aim of this research to determine the antimicrobial potential of ethanol extract fruit of E. elatior against gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Bacillus subtilis FNCC 0060), and gram negative (Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 and Salmonella enterica ATCC 14028) using cup-plate method. The antimicrobial activity based on the diameter of inhibition zone. The result shows that extract more potential to inhibit gram positive than gram negative while the highest inhibition illustrate by concentration of 20 mg/mL (inhibition zone= 5 mm). In conclusion, the extract of E. elatior no potent as antimicrobial candidate (category= weak).

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penentuan ekivalensi antar tablet salbutamol generik terhadap merek dagang dengan metode disolusi. Informasi mengenai kualitas obat generik diharapkan mampu meningkatkan penggunaan obat generik di kalangan praktisi kesehatan maupun masyarakat. Uji disolusi dilakukan secara in vitro yang memiliki hubungan kolerasi dengan uji bioavailabilitas obat in vivo, dengan sampel berupa tablet salbutamol 4 mg generik (G) dan merek dagang (A) dan (B). Uji disolusi menggunakan alat disolusi tipe 2 (dayung) dan penetapan kadar zat terlarut dilakukan dengan spektrofotometri ultra violet pada panjang gelombang 276 nm. Hasil uji disolusi berupa profil disolusi dan kadar zat terlarut pada waktu 30 menit dibandingkan dengan persyaratan USP XXXII. Pengujian bioavailabilitas relatif tablet generik terhadap merek A sebesar 101,580 dan tablet generik terhadap merek B sebesar 105,275. Berdasarkan statistik maka tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna atau ekivalen secara farmasetik. Tablet generik ekivalen secara in vitro terhadap tablet merek A dan B dengan nilai faktor kemiripan sebesar 84,120 dan 74,271.

Abstract

Tomatoes are well-known as the source of antioxidants due to the content of lycopene, i.e., a potential free radical inhibitor. Gel peel-off masks are among the chemical products containing antioxidants. The first step of the study was extracting tomato fruits by macerating the fruits using alcohol solvents 96%. The obtained thick extract was used as the material of the gel mask; the percentage of the extract comprised 3% (F1), 5% (F2), and 7% (F3), and it used PVA basis 11% and viscolam 3%. According to the result, the gel peel-off masks meet the requirements of physical and storage stability evaluation. The result of the antioxidant test reveals that the IC50 value of the three masks is F1 189.22 µg/mL, F2 89.34 µg/mL, and F3 36.77 µg/mL. Further, the result of T-Test reveals that P-value = 0.019 (α = 0.05), indicating a difference in the result of the antioxidant test of the three formulae in day one (t0) and day 28 (t28).

Abstract

In early 2020, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) was declared as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). The number of positive cases of this virus continues to grow every day. Positive cases in Buton Tengah by 3 months increased up to 41 cases. Therefore the socialization of the mitigation and adaptation program of the people of Central of Buton during the COVID-19 outbreak needs to be done. The purpose is achievement of the ability to live a healthy life in the form of preventive measures to  faced covid-19 outbreak. Mitigation programs carried out are the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS), clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), Community Movement using masks (GEMAS), TOGA and VCO, as well as the use of handsanitizers and disinfectants. The method was discourse directly to the public. The results obtained is increased public understanding of how to prevent COVID-19 infection in the mitigation program delivered. Conclusion is the mitigation socialization of COVID-19 received a very good response from the community, the residents felt very helped and there was an increase in community understanding and skills.

Abstract

Salbutamol sulfat sebagai bronkodilator memiliki waktu paruh elimininasi 4-6 jam dan penggunaan oral bioavailabilitasnya hanya 50% karena mengalami metabolisme lintas pertama. Telah dikembangkan sediaan gel transdermal dengan sistem penghantaran vesikel etosom. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh formula gel salbutamol sulfat dalam pembawa vesikular etosom yang stabil. Preparasi salbutamol sulfat dalam pembawa vesikular etosom dilakukan dengan metode dingin (30oC) dan komposisinya adalah fosfatidilkolin 2%, etanol 40%, propilen glikol 1%, salbutamol sulfat 0,3% dan air suling hingga 100%. Formulasi gel dilakukan dengan teknik pencampuran mekanik dengan variasi basis karbomer 0,5%, 1%, 1,5%, dan 2%. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji stabilitas dengan metode cycling test pada dua suhu yang berbeda (5o C dan 40o C). Hasil yang diperoleh meliputi viskositas sebelum dan sesudah cycling test adalah 13.000-26.500 cP dan 12.000-25.500 cP; pH sebelum dan sesudah cycling test adalah 6,76-6,84 dan 6,75-7,15; serta daya sebar sebelum dan sesudah cycling test adalah 4,4-6,4 cm dan 4,35-6,4 cm. Disimpulkan bahwa gel gel dengan konsentrasi basis karbomer 0,5% dan 1% memiliki stabilitas yang baik

Abstract

Coronavirus Diseases 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease caused by a new coronavirus strain (SARS-CoV-2) which then mutates into various variants including the omicron variant, alpha variant, beta variant, and gamma variant. Where, transmission will pose a high risk when the body's immunity is low. The purpose of this activity is to provide information on various "Family Medicine Gardens" that can function as Immunomodulators to the general public, as well as students, both junior high school (SMP) and elementary school (SD) students. The implementation of this activity is carried out face-to-face and is packaged in the form of socializing the benefits of the Family Medicinal Garden (TOGA) as a source of immunomodulators, together with the community practicing making Family Medicinal Plant gardens in the Poasia and Kambuh Districts as well as the School Environment. In addition, this is also done by distributing leaflets containing information on the types of plants that act as immunomodulators and how to make them.

Abstract

Natrium diklofenak merupakan golongan NSAID (Non Steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) yang banyak diresepkan untuk inflamasi dan nyeri. Namun dalam penggunaannya secara oral, natrium diklofenak mengalami first pass metabolism di hati sehingga hanya sekitar 50% saja obat yang sampai pada sirkulasi sistemik dan jika seringkali diberikan dengan dosis yang lebih tinggi dapat memperparah efek samping di saluran pencernaan. Karena beberapa kerugian diklofenak pada penggunaan oral, maka diklofenak dikembangkan ke sistem penghantaran transdermal dalam hal ini nanovesikel transfersom yang dipilih sebagai alternatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi vesikel transfersom natrium diklofenak dengan perbandingan (4,5%:0,5%), (4,5%:1%), (4%:0,5%) dan (4%:1%) agar diperoleh perbandingan formula optimum vesikel transfersom natrium diklofenak dengan basis fosfatidilkolin kedelai dan span 80 menggunakan design expert dan untuk mengetahui karakteristik transfersom natrium diklofenak berupa efisiensi penjerapan, distribusi ukuran partikel dan zeta potensial. Optimasi formula transfersom menggunakan metode desain faktorial 22 dengan faktor fosfatidilkolin kedelai dan span 80 menggunakan respon efisiensi penjerapan dan ukuran vesikel. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu formula optimum dengan konsentrasi fosfatidilkolin kedelai 4,5% dan span 80 0,5% serta pengujian karakteristik vesikel transfersom allopurinol dengan efisiensi penjerapan 99,56%, distribusi ukuran partikel 160,1 nm dan zeta potensial -57,1 mV.

Abstract

Background: Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) widely prescribed for inflammation and pain. However, when used orally, diclofenac sodium has poor bioavailability because it undergoes first-pass metabolism in the liver, so only about 50% of the drug reaches systemic circulation. Therefore, the transdermal delivery system, in this case, transfersome nanovesicles, was chosen as an alternative to overcome these problems. Transfersome is a lipid vesicle with the best deformability in penetrating the skin layer among other nanovesicles. Transfersomes consist of active substances, phospholipids, surfactants, and other ingredients. The composition of phosphatidylcholine as a phospholipid and tween 80 as a surfactant is a variable that can affect the optimization of the transfersome formula. Therefore, the ratio of phospholipids and surfactants should be varied to obtain the most stable transfersome formula with high drug entrapment efficiency. Optimization as an approach to get the best combination of a formula can be done in a more efficient way using software called Design-Expert. This software is used to help carry out experimental designs, such as determining the optimum formula for a preparation. Objectives: This study aims to determine the ratio of soya phosphatidylcholine as a phospholipid and tween 80 as a surfactant in the optimum formula of diclofenac sodium transfersome vesicles using Design-Expert and to determine the characteristics of the resulting transfersome vesicles. Material and Methods: Optimizing the transfersome Diclofenac Sodium formula using the factorial design 22 with soya phosphatidylcholine and tween 80 factors, particle size response, and entrapment efficiency. The thin layer hydration method carried out the process of making diclofenac sodium transfersome. Results: The results obtained from this study, namely the optimum formula based on Design-Expert, obtained a ratio of soya phosphatidylcholine and tween 80 of 4.5%: 0.5%. The results of the characterization of the optimum formula obtained a particle size of 224.3 nm, a zeta potential of -57.1 mV, and entrapment efficiency of 99.85%. Conclusions: The results of the characterization of the diclofenac sodium transfersome have met the specifications required for each test.

Abstract

Herbal plants are one source of discovering secondary metabolites for active ingredients in medicine and one of them is Etlingera rubroloba from the Zingiberaceae group. The stems of these plants contain polyphenols as natural antioxidants. Application of natural antioxidants can be given topically through spray gel preparations. Spray preparations in gel form using HPMC can produce clear visuals, stable viscosity and do not irritate the skin. This study aims to obtain the optimal concentration of HPMC in the manufacture of E.rubroloba ethanol extract spray gel in terms of the resulting evaluation and physical stability. Formulation of spray gel based on the experimental method of optimizing gel base by adding E.rubroloba ethanol extract in various concentrations of HPMC 0.1% (F1); 0.2% (F2); 0.3% (F3) ; 0.4% (F4); and 0.5% (F5). The results showed that F1 with 0.1% HPMC had the best physical properties and stability of the preparation with a clear organoleptic, characteristic odor, and slightly viscous, producing a homogeneous spray gel, having a pH of 6, viscosity of 60 cps, spray weight of 0.13 gram, dry time 1.14 minutes, pattern and diameter of spraying spread well, and physically stable through centrifugation method stability test and cycling test. Keywords: Antioxidant, Etlingera rubroloba, gel, HPMC Abstrak Tumbuhan herbal merupakan salah satu sumber penemuan metabolit sekunder untuk bahan aktif dalam pengobatan dan salah satunya adalah Etlingera rubroloba dari kelompok Zingiberaceae. Batang tumbuhan tersebut mengandung polifenol sebagai antioksidan alami. Aplikasi antioksidan alami dapat diberikan secara topikal melalui sediaan spray gel. Sediaan spray dalam bentuk gel menggunakan HPMC dapat menghasilkan visual jernih, viskositas stabil dan tidak mengiritasi kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi optimal HPMC dalam pembuatan spray gel ekstrak etanol E.rubroloba yang ditinjau dari evaluasi dan stabilitas fisik yang dihasilkan. Formulasi sediaan spray gel berdasarkan metode eksperimental optimalisasi basis gel dengan menambahkan ekstrak etanol E.rubroloba dalam variasi konsentrasi HPMC 0,1% (F1) ; 0,2% (F2); 0,3% (F3) ; 0,4% (F4); dan 0,5% (F5). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa F1 dengan HPMC 0,1% memiliki sifat fisik dan stabilitas sediaan terbaik dengan organoleptik bening, berbau khas, dan agak kental, menghasilkan spray gel yang homogen, memiliki pH 6, viskositas 60 cps, bobot semprot 0,13 gram, waktu kering 1,14 menit, pola dan diameter penyemprotan menyebar dengan baik, serta stabil secara fisik melalui uji stabilitas metode sentrifugasi dan cycling test.
