Abstract

The coastal area of Bengkulu City's Long Beach currently has natural, cultural and historical tourism and forest tourism. However, tourism in Bengkulu City's Long Beach is still not optimal in its management. In addition to increasing the diversity of tourism in the Long Beach area of the city of Bengkulu, alternative tourism is needed, namely marine tourism in the city of Bengkulu. To support the management of Bengkulu City Long Beach tourism area as a marine tourism area, it is necessary to manage and develop Bengkulu City Long Beach area in accordance with the conditions and pay attention to the potential of natural resources around the area. This study aims to examine and analyze how the strategy of managing the Long Beach area of Bengkulu city becomes an integrated and sustainable marine tourism area.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the pattern of sediment transport to the distribution of plankton and fishing ground in the estuary of KamparRiver. This study used survey methods, the study sample was obtained in the field are considered to represent the Kampar River estuary. Then the sampling results in the form of TSS, brightness, temperature, salinity, pH, flow velocity and plankton descriptively analyzed and discussed with reference to data interpretation method by using mathematical models (software mike21 ). The results showed the concentration distribution of sediment at the mouth of the Kampar River in east monsoon amounted to 8.76 million tons / day and in the west monsoon amounted to 7.64 million tons / day. A region prone to silting due to sediment transport is periodically southeastern portion Mendol. Based on the analysis modeling , plankton diversity index tends to be low in the study site so that the waters around the Mendol island excluding strategic area for fishing grounds it is indicated there has been a downward trend in plankton diversity index as the primary productivity . The existence of TSS may hinder the penetration of light that ultimately affect the photosynthetic plankton.

Abstract

Environmental change due to development processes, such as land clearing and construction of settlements and industries, are belived to cause disruotion of hydrologic conditions, increases level flow and flood peak flow. It happens because of the water absorption capacity at the land surface reduced. The menthod used is frequency analysis to determine the expected local rainfall on various repeated periods and the rain intensity, which are needed for flood flow calculations. The space utilization on economic sector in Sudirman Kota Dumai Rd., are likely to be increased from 2001, 2011, ro 2015. The result of the flood flow (Qp) analysis on 2015 shows tendency to increase on the following years (Qexisting kurang dari Qprediction). Where as the result of the flood flow (Qp) with catchment well is Qeksisting lebih dari Qscenario.

Abstract

This research focus on assessing the spatial distribution area of solar energy potential in Pekanbaru using ECMWF ERA5 from 2012-2022 and analysing the environmental, social, and economic aspects based on solar energy utilisation. Using overlay and intersection techniques in ArcGIS, Pekanbaru's average solar energy potential is around 5,0-5,5 kWh/m2, and around 438.227-482.050 MWh/year of photovoltaic energy can be harvested from rooftop photovoltaic installation. Moreover, by utilising rooftop photovoltaic systems, the potential of CO2 emission can be reduced at around ±411.934-453.127 tonCO2/year, and it is predicted to reduce CO2 emission from households in 2022 by up to 52%. On the other hand, a questionnaire is used to describe the level of the community's understanding related to the beneficial effects of solar energy. Based on 100 respondents, it is found that around 58% of people don’t understand or are aware of rooftop photovoltaic, 20% of households think that the system is not necessary or urgently needed, and 22% of respondents argue that the high cost of installation is the primary consideration. The results reveal that the support from local governments is required for developing PV system as this system is one of the possible solutions to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs).

Abstract

Rumbai pesisir is one of the districts that is often affected by flooding in the city of Pekanbaru. This research was carried out to formulate mitigation strategies from ecological, social, and economic perspectives to minimize the impacts of floods in the Rumbai sub-district of Pekanbaru City. The data obtained from questionnaires, interviews, direct field observations, and also literature reviews are analyzed descriptively and plotted into a SWOT diagram. From the ecological perspective, Pekanbaru has a medium to high category of rainfall with a high frequency of flood. Many of the drainage channels in Sri Meranti area are unmaintained and clogged. The social conditions show that the majority of Sri Meranti population have productive age and intermediate education so that they can be more educated in terms of mitigation. The economic conditions show that there is a low-income level of the Sri Meranti population which is below the UMK. Of Pekanbaru. Government contributions in handling floods are needed but the budget is insufficient. The resulting strategy in mitigating the flood impact in Rumbai is the S-O (Strength-Opportunities) strategy which supports an aggressive strategy in taking advantage of all the strengths and opportunities that exist.
