Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis kompos jerami padi dan konsentrasi PGPR terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil padi (Oryza sativa L.) kultivar Ciherang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di desa Panongan Lor, Kecamatan Sedong, Kabupaten Cirebon, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Pada bulan Mei sampai dengan bulan Agustus 2020. Lokasi terletak pada ketinggian 120 mdpl, jenis tanah liat. Curah hujan pada daerah penelitian termasuk dalam kriteria sedang (D). Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) factorial. Perlakuan terdiri dari 2 factor dan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis kompos jerami padi yang terdiri dari 3 taraf (4, 8, 12 ton/ha). Faktor kedua yaitu konsentrasi PGPR yang terdiri dari 3 taraf (5.5, 7.5, 9.5 ml/liter). Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan terdapat interaksi antara dosis kompos jerami padi dan PGPR (Plant Growth Promothing Rhizobacter) terhadap tinggi tanaman 35 HST, jumlah anakan per rumpun 35 HST, jumlah anakan produktif per rumpun, panjang malai, jumlah gabah per malai, bobot gabah kering panen per petak dan bobot gabah kering giling per petak. Akan tetapi tidak terdapat interaksi terhadap tinggi tanaman 28 dan 42 HST, jumlah anakan per rumpun 28 dan 42 HST, volume akar, jumlah gabah bernas per malai, bobot gabah kering panen per rumpun, bobot gabah kering giling per rumpun dan bobot 1000 butir gabah. Terdapat korelasi yang nyata antara komponen pertumbuhan (tinggi tanaman 35 HST dan jumlah anakan per rumpun 28, 35 HST) dengan bobot gabah kering giling per petak.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted to know the effect of pruning time shoots and concentration ethepon on the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) cultivar Wulan. The experiment was conducted at Sangkanurip Village, Cigandamekar District, Kuningan, West Java Province, from March until May 2018. The experimental design was used Randomized Complete Block Design (RBD) with factorial pattern. Each treatment was repeated three timer. The treatment consisted two factors. The first factor is time pruning shoots which consist three levels : P0 (without pruning), P1 (age 15 DAP pruning), P2 (age 20 DAP pruning), while the second factor is the concentration ethepon which consists four levels : E0 (0 ppm), E1 (100 ppm), E2 (200 ppm), E3 (300 ppm). The results showed that there was a significnt interaction effect between pruning time shoots and concentration ethepon on plant high (27 and 24 days after planting), number of leafs (27, 34, and 41 days after planting), and total weight per plant. Independently, time pruning shoots gave significant effect on plant high (41 days after planting), number of male flowers, number of fruit per plant. While concentration ethepon gave a real effect on number of male flowers, number of female flowers, ratio of female flowers and number of fruits. There is a significant correlation between the number of leafs age 27 DAP (days after planting) the results of the total weight per plot.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi takaran pupuk kandang dan jarak tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kangkung darat (Ipomoea reptans) dan untuk mengetahui kombinasi takaran pupuk kandang dan jarak tanam yang berpengaruh baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kangkung darat. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan November sampai dengan bulan Desember 2013 di Desa Babatan, Kecamatan Kadugede, Kabupaten Kuningan (550 m dpl) dengan curah hujan type E, suhu 28oC-36oC, pH 6,5, dan tekstur tanah lempung berliat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari sembilan kombinasi perlakuan: A (10 cm x 5 cm, 0 ton/ha), B (10 cm x 5 cm, 15 ton/ha), C (10 cm x 5 cm, 30 ton/ha), D (10 cm x 10 cm, 0 ton/ha), E (10 cm x 10 cm, 15 ton/ha), F (10 cm x 10 cm, 30 ton/ha), G (10 cm x 15 cm, 0 ton/ha), H (10 cm x 15 cm, 15 ton/ha), I (10 cm x 15 cm, 30 ton/ha). Variabel yang diamati adalah pertumbuhan (tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan diameter batang) dan hasil (bobot kotor per tanaman dan per petak, dan bobot bersih per tanaman dan per petak). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi takaran pupuk kandang 15 ton/ha dengan jarak tanam 10 cm x 5 cm memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil kangkung darat yang baik dibandingkan dengan kombinasi perlakuan yang lain.

Abstract

Pajambon village is a village center for the cultivation of guava in the district of Kuningan. The cultivation techniques and postharvest handling were not based on Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Good Handling Practices (GHP) such as the application of fertilizer was less precise, sanitary land that was not optimal, pest control was less precise, and postharvest handling were not done well. Yet the implementation of SOP and GHP in guava cultivation techniques lead to optimal production and quality of the crop of guava was low. Farmers' knowledge regarding guava cultivation techniques and post-harvest handling needs to be improved. The method was used in this program include counseling, training and monitoring (assistance). Results of these programs i.e. farmers understand the techniques of cultivation and postharvest handling in accordance with the SOP and GHP, the guava fruit yield increase qualified grade A (≥250 g), as well as the decrease in the yield of fruit guava qualified grade C (149 g - 100 g).

Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is one of the vegetables that are commonly cultivated by using hydroponic systems. Some hydroponic systems require high current expenses in particular for the electricity in order to circulate nutrient solution e.g. in the water culture system – deep flow technique (DFT) -. Electricity costs can be reduced by changing from continuous nutrient flow to intermittent nutrient flow. The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of interval nutrient flow on growth and yield of lettuce. The experiment was conducted in Cirebon from February to April 2018. The experiment was arranged by using randomized complete block design with four treatments: (i) continuous nutrient flow (control), intermittent nutrient flow (nutrient flow during (ii) 15 minutes, (iii) 30 minutes, and (iv) 45 minutes). For each intermittent treatment, the nutrient flow was interrupted for 60 minutes. Each treatment was repeated four times. The result showed nutrient flow interval affected to plant height, shoot diameter, and leaf area at 35 days after planting (DAP). Meanwhile, leaves number, root volume, and fresh weight of harvested crops were not significantly different in all nutrient interval treatments. The highest plant height and shoot diameter were detected in the treatment (ii) nutrient flow during 15 minutes and interruption for 60 minutes, the results were not significantly different to the control – continuous flow treatment. It can be concluded the interval nutrient flow can be used as an alternative of the continuous flow of nutrient solution in hydroponically DFT.

Abstract

Salah satu penyebab rendahnya kualitas buah mangga adalah umur panen yang tidak tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh umur panen terhadap kualitas beberapa kultivar mangga (Mangifera indica L.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai dari bulan Juli sampai November 2021 di Laboratorium Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Faktor yang diuji adalah kombinasi antara kultivar mangga (Gedong Gincu, Arumanis, Cengkir, dan Lalijiwo) dengan umur panen (60, 75, 90, 105, dan 120 hari setelah bunga mekar). Perlakuan diulang sebanyak 2 kali sehingga didapat 40 satuan percobaan. Variabel yang diamati adalah bobot segar buah, susut bobot buah, kekerasan buah, vitamin C, dan total padatan terlarut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bobot buah Arumanis dan Cengkir pada umur 90–120 Hari Setelah Bungan Mekar (HSBM) lebih tinggi dibanding kultivar lainnya. Susut bobot paling rendah terjadi pada Gedong Gincu dan Arumanis umur 120 HSBM sedangkan kandungan vitamin C dan total padatan terlarut yang tinggi diperoleh pada Gedong Gincu, Cengkir, dan Lalijiwo umur 120 hari setelah bunga mekar. Umur panen terbaik untuk semua kultivar adalah antara 90–120 HSBM.ABSTRACTOne of the causes of mango’s low quality is the improper harvesting age. This study aimed to determine the effect of harvest age on the quality of several mango cultivars (Mangifera indicaL.). This research was carried out from July to November 2021 at the Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati. The research method used was the experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The factor tested was a combination of mango cultivars (Gedong Gincu, Arumanis, Cengkir, and Lalijiwo) and harvest age (60, 75, 90, 105, and 120 days after the flower blooms). The treatment was repeated 2 times so that 40 trials were obtained. The variables age observed were fresh fruit weight, fruit weight loss, fruit hardness, vitamin C, and total dissolved solids. The results showed that Arumanis and Cengkir fruit weights of 90-120 days after blooming (DAB) were higher than other cultivars. The lowest weight loss occurred in Gedong Gincu and Arumanis at 120 DAB, vitamin C content and total soluble solids were obtained in Gedong Gincu, Cengkir, and Lalijiwo at 120 DAB. The best harvest age for all cultivars was between 90 – 120 DAB.

Abstract

The aims of this study were (1) to determine the effect of stakeholder roles and direct access to information on farmer capacity in harvest and postharvest handling, and (2) to determine the influence of the role of stakeholders and access to information on the capacity of farmers in handling harvest and postharvest through. The research was conducted in Majalengka Regency with the central areas of Majalengka District and Panyingkiran District. The time of the research was carried out in August 2023. The determination of the sample was carried out by census on 30 farmers who had supplied gedong gincu mangoes to exporters. Data analysis used path analysis with the independent variable the role of stakeholders and access to information with the dependent variable being the farmer's capacity in handling harvest and postharvest through farmer behavior. data analysis using path analysis. The results of the analysis show that there is an influence on the role of stakeholders and access to information on the variable capacity of farmers in handling harvest and postharvest directly or through farmer behavior. The first path equation is Y = 0.391 + 0.517 + 0.796 and the second path equation is Y = 0.336 + 0.420 + 0.445 + 0.630. The effect of stakeholder roles on farmer capacity directly or indirectly is 0.500, the effect of information access on farmer capacity is 0.662 and the influence of farmer behavior on farmer capacity is 0.420

Abstract

The demand for salak pondoh is increasing along with the increase in economic growth and population. Efforts to maintain the quality of salak pondoh fruit are to delay ripeness using various types of packaging and knowing the most effective type of packaging to extend the shelf life of salak fruit. The research was carried out at the Agricultural Product Processing Technology Laboratorium, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati. The study design used Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with TK treatment = no packaging, P = Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) plastic packaging and K = carton box packaging, each treatment was repeated as many times 9 times. The parameters observed were percentage of weight loss, hardness, total dissolved solids and vitamin C levels. The data obtained were analyzed with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and if the difference was real continued with the Scott-Knott test at the level of significance of 5%. The results showed that the use of cardboard box packaging material was able to delay the ripeness of salak fruit. Low density polyethylene plastic is a type of packaging that is effective in reducing the weight loss and hardness of salak fruit, and cardboard boxes are a type of packaging that effective in suppressing total dissolved solids and vitamin C levels of salak pondoh fruit (Salacca edulis Reinw.).
