Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce an experimental design for determining the viscosity coefficient using jetAudio and Subtitle Edit software, and determining the value of the fluid viscosity coefficient by using this experimental design. In this study, the type of fluid used is packaged cooking oil, and the object used is a magnetic ball. The method proposed by the author to measure the travel time of the magnetic ball in cooking oil is by using the combination of coil sensors, jetAudio, and Subtitle Edit. JetAudio software will record magnetic induction traces as the magnetic ball passes the coils into audio format, Subtitle Edit software is used to determine travel time of the magnetic ball based on jetAudio recording data. The results of this study are jetAudio and Subtitle Edit can be used in fluid viscosity coefficient experiments. The value of the cooking oil viscosity coefficient obtained from this study is 0,561431096 Pa.s.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much improvement in students' cognitive learning outcomes after applying the REACT learning model on simple machine subjects. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of pre-experimental design. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Jawai, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. The sample in this study were 25 class VIIIC students, determined by the purposive sampling technique. This research begins with the provision of pretest followed by treatment in the form of application of the REACT learning model and ends with the administration of posttest. From the data analysis, it was found that the cognitive learning outcomes of students experienced an increase of 0.44 based on the N-gain equation with the medium category. The recapitulation results from the attitude scale showed that 87% of students stated that they were better able to understand simple machine subjects using the REACT learning model. It can be concluded that the REACT learning model can improve student learning outcomes on simple machine subjects.

Abstract

This research was carried out at Musamus University in academic year 2019/2020 by taking a basic physics class I as a research sample. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of Google classroom as multimedia learning. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative supported by quantitative data. The instrument used was a material and multimedia expert validation sheet, questions that had been validated to test the effectiveness of implementing Google classroom as learning multimedia. Based on the description above it can be concluded that the implementation of google classroom as multimedia learning with average results of multimedia expert validation of 82.5% and 87% of material experts have a good impact on the learning process and outcomes of students. This is evidenced by an increase in the value of each student with average of pre-test score is 62 and post-test score is 83. N-gain score is 0.75 (high category).

Abstract

Physics learning about sound frequency will be more effective if equipped with practicum activities. This practicum activity can be done by linking it with a cultural because cultural values have the potential to be implemented in physics learning, such as musical instruments for sound frequency. As for the culture used in this research is the Guzheng. This research aims to analyzed  of the Guzheng sound frequency, the comparison of the sound frequency to the prime tones, and the comparison of the sound frequency to the octave tones. The research type that was used is based on laboratory experiment with the aids of Advanced Spectrum Analyzer Pro application which is already installed in the smartphone to measure the sound frequency of 21 strings of Guzheng. The result of the analyzed showed that the longer of string  so the sound frequency produced is the lower. As for of simple linear regression test showed that the sound frequency is linearly distributed to the prime tones and to the octave tones. The result of research can be applied in physics learning by conducting practicum activities and utilizing technology by the Advanced Spectrum Analyzer Pro application to measure the sound frequency both on musical instruments and on other objects that can make a sound.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the scientific literacy skills of students where the results can be used as a basis for implementing learning with the STEM approach based on local wisdom of Papua. This research was conducted at SMP YPPK St. Mikael Merauke in class VIII SMP students, especially in the heated material. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method. The instrument used in this study was multiple-choice totaling 30 numbers based on scientific literacy. The research instrument used has gone through a validation process and is declared valid. The results of the data analysis showed that the scientific literacy skills of students on the indicator of understanding scientific phenomena obtained an average score of 66%. The indicator explaining scientific phenomena obtains an average score of 62%. In the scientific problem identification indicator, the average score obtained is 65%. However, on the indicators of interpreting the data and scientific evidence the average score obtained was 59%. In the domain of scientific literacy, the aspect of scientific knowledge obtained an average score of 66%. Likewise in the scientific competency aspect, the average score obtained is 62%. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the overall score of students' scientific literacy skills is in a good category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran group investigation pada materi gerak lurus.Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling yang berjumlah 28 orang siswa di salah satu Madrasah Aliyah di kota Singkawang. Bentuk tes yang digunakan berupa tes uraian.Hasil penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dari keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi gerak lurus.Kategori keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan kategori N-gain.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indikator menyimpulkan dengan skor sebesar 0,65 dengan kategori sedang, indikator penyelidikan dengan skor sebesar 0,48 dengan kategori sedang, indikator menganalisis dengan skor sebesar 0,52 dengan kategori sedang, indikator pemecahan masalah dengan skor sebesar 0,48 dengan kategori sedang dan indikator membuat keputusan dengan skor sebesar 0,67 dengan kategori sedang. Rata-rata persentase keseluruhan dari angket respon siswa terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 83,6% dengan kategori positif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa setiap indikator berkategori sedang. Hasil penelitian ini bisa menjadi referensi bagi peneliti lain untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada indikator menyimpulkan, penyelidikan, menganalisis, pemecahan masalah dan membuat keputusan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model pembelajaran CUPs terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi getaran dan gelombang.  Jenis penelitian yang digunakan  penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment. Desain penelitian menggunakan nonequivalent control group design yang diterapkan pada dua kelompok.  Populasi dalam penelitian seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri Singkawang sedangkan sampel yang diambil kelas VIII A dan kelas VIII C yang berjumlah 50 orang siswa dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Dari analisis dengan menggunakan N-gain, diperoleh peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebesar 0,51 pada kelas eksperimen dengan kategori sedang sedangkan pada kelas kontrol diperoleh 0,30 ddengan kategori rendah. Dari hasil analisis Uji test median, didapat nilai  6,547 lebih besar dari  3,841 pada dk = 1. Karena  lebih besar dari , maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran CUPs terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi getaran dan gelombang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran CUPs dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi hukum Archimedes dan pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran POGIL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi hukum Archimedes. Metode penelitian menggunakan quasy exsperiment dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Singkawang. Teknik pengambilan sampel berupa teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berjumlah 10 soal dalam bentuk pilihan ganda beralasan yang telah diuji validitasnya. Hasil data tersebut kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji N-gain dan uji statistik. Hasil peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,60 dalam kategori sedang dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,22 dalam kategori rendah. Sehingga data yang diperoleh berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Dari hasil perhitungan uji t dua sampel tidak berkorelasi didapatkan nilai t hitung > t tabel yaitu 6,797 > 2,045, maka Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak pada taraf signifikansi a = 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran POGIL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi hukum Archimedes.

Abstract

This study aims to get an overview of the responses of high school students throughout Singkawang City about learning physics during the Covid-19 pandemic. This qualitative research uses a survey method. The subjects in this study were all state high school students in Singkawang City. The research sample was taken using the Convenience Sampling technique. Students' responses to learning physics during online learning are less liked by students because of limited internet signals and lack of guidance from teachers when learning online. This makes students less understand the physics material that is explained. The results of this study are, student responses in Very Good category by 2%, in Good category by 3%, while in Moderate category by 16%, and in Bad category by 79%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kecenderungan gaya belajar siswa kelas V SD dalam hal keterampilan berpikir kritis. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD Negeri 4 Singkawang yang terdiri dari 3 siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi, 3 siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis sedang, dan 3 siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis rendah untuk dilanjutkan ketahap wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes berupa tes esai dan non tes berupa angket gaya belajar dan pedoman wawancara. Uji keabsahan data yang digunakan adalah uji kredibilitas data dengan cara triangulasi dan menggunakan bahan referensi. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi memiliki kecenderungan gaya belajar auditori, siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis sedang memiliki gaya belajar membaca/menulis, siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis rendah memiliki kecenderungan gaya belajar auditori dan kinestetik.
