Abstract

The sunscreens or Sun Protecting Agent is the materials protecting the skin from the exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays. Amount of Sun Protection Factor shows how many times the subject skin protection can be multiplied under the sun rays without erythema occurs. Kalakai contains some bio-active substance like phenol, flavonoid, alkaloid and terpenoid family which are proven as a very effective antioxidant. The purpose of this research was to determine the concentration of ethanol extract of kalakai root which has the potential as a sunscreen based on the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) parameter. Determination of SPF amount was carried out in vitro by UV-VIS spectrophotometer at a concentration of 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm, 200 ppm, 250 ppm, 300 ppm, and 350 ppm with a wavelength of 290-320 nm. The result showed that kalakai root ethanol extract indicated potential as a sunscreen at a concentration of 300 ppm and 350 ppm obtained SPF values respectively 11 and 14 classified as sunscreens with extreme ability levels.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tumbuhan kalakai atau sering disebut paku haruan atau pakis  merupakan tumbuhan khas Kalimanatan yang banyak digunakan sebagai tumbuhan obat. Kalakai mengandung beberapa senyawa bioaktif seperti fenolik, flavonoid, alkaloid dan keluarga terpenoid yang efektif sebagai antioksidan.  Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan aktivitas antihiperlipidemia dar i ekstrak akar kalakai yang diuji secara in vivo pada tikus wistar. Metode yang digunakan adalah melakukan uji aktivitas antihiperlipidemia dengan cara memberi perlakuan hewan coba dan melakukan pengukuran kadar trigliserida dan kolesterol total dengan menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-VIS. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa peningkatan dosis dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dari ekstrak akar  kalakai. Semakin meningkatnya dosis,  maka terjadi peningkatan pertemuan antara flavonoid dengan reseptor di permukaan sel, sehingga terjadi peningkatan aktivitas. Aktivitas dari pemberian dosis ke-3 dari kadar trigliserida sebesar 49,8 mg/dl sedangkan untuk kadar kolesterolnya sebesar 41,8 mg/dl pada hasil yang didapat dari ekstrak akar kalakai  mendekati pemberian dari kadar  simvastatin. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka ekstrak dengan dosis 400 mg/KgBB memiliki potensi untuk teliti lebih lanjut dan dapat digunakansebagai obat alternatif pada pengobatan hiperlipidemia. Keadaan hiperlipidemia tidak hanya terkait kolesterol, tetapi mencakup kadar trigliserida di dalam darah. Kemampuan suatu obat dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol sekaligus kadar trigliserida, akan memberikan keuntungan terhadap pengobatan pasien hiperlipidemia. Penggunaan akar kalakai tidak hanya terbatas pada pengobatan karena bahan alam dapat digunakan sebagai pencegah timbulnya penyakit terutama hiperlipidemia yang terjadi pada pasien degeneratif. Kata kunci : Ektrak akar kalakai, In Vivo, Kolesterol, SpektrofotometerUV-VIS, Trigliserida  ABSTRACT Kalakai plants or often called haruan nails or ferns are typical Kalimanatan plants which are widely used as medicinal plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the antihyperlipidemic activity of kalakai root extract which was tested in vivo in Wistar rats. The method used is to test the activity of antihyperlipidemia by giving treatment of experimental animal and to measure levels of triglycerides and total cholesterol using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. the results of the study note that increasing the dose can increase the activity of the kalakai root extract. As the dose incr eases, there is an increase in the linkage between the flavonoids and receptors on the cell surface, resulting in increased activity . The activity of administering the 3rd dose of triglyceride levels was 49.8 mg/dl whereas for cholesterol levels it was 41.8 mg/dl in the result obtained from the extract of kalakai root approaching the administration of simvastatin levels. Based on this, the extract at a dose of 400mg/kg has the potensial for further scrutiny and can be used as an alternative drug in the treatment of hyperlipidemia. The state of hyperlipidemia is not only related to cholesterol, but includes the level of triglycerides in the blood. The ability of a drug to reduce cholesterol levels as well as triglyceride levels, will provide benefits to the treatm ent of hyperlipidemia patients. The use of kalakai root is not only limited to treatment because natural ingredients can be use d as a prevention of disease, especially hyperlipidemia that occurs in degenerative patients. Keywords: Kalakai root extract, In Vivo, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tanaman khas Kalimantan yang banyak digunakan sebagai tanaman obat adalah kalakai atau sering juga disebut paku haruan (Stenochlaena palustris Bedd) atau pakis. Kalakai mengandung beberapa senyawa bioaktif seperti fenolik, flavonoid, alkaloid dan keluarga terpenoid yang telah terbukti sangat efektif sebagai antioksidan. Kalakai merupakan tumbuhan yang tumbuh subur di tanah gambut dan juga ditemukan tumbuh baik di tanah berpasir. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari akar kalakai (Stenochlaena palustris) yang tumbuh pada tanah gambut dan tanah berpasir berdasarkan parameter Inhibitory Concentration 50 (IC50). Aktivitas antioksidan diuji menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-1-pikril-hidrazil) dan kuersetin sebagai pembanding. Nilai IC50 untuk ekstrak akar kalakai pada tanah gambut yaitu sebesar 19,06 ppm dan pada ekstrak akar kalakai pada tanah pasir didapat IC50 sebesar 24,40 ppm. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak etanol akar kalakai yang tumbuh pada tanah pasir dan tanah gambut memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat. Kata Kunci : Akar, Antioksidan, Kalakai, Stenochlaena palustris Bedd ABSTRACT Borneo plants that are widely used as medicinal plants are kalakai or often also called paku Haruan (Stenochlaena palustris Bedd). Kalakai contains several bioactive compounds such as phenolics, flavonoids, alkaloids and terpenoid that have been shown to be very effective as antioxidants. Kalakai is a plant that thrives on peat soils and is also found to grow well in sandy soils. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of kalakai root (Stenochlaena palustris) that grows on peat soil and sandy soil based on Inhibitory Concentration 50 (IC50). Antioxidant activity was tested using DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazil) and quercetin as a comparison. IC50 value for kalakai root extract on peat soil that is 19,06 ppm and at kalakai root extract on sand soil obtained IC50 that is 24,40 ppm. The results of antioxidant activity test on kalakai root extract that grow on sand and peat soil have very strong antioxidant activity. Abstract

Fasting is defined as worship holding back or abstaining from eating, drinking, and all things that cancel it, starting from dawn to sunset. Although obligatory, fasting has rukhsah (relief), which can be withdrawn, for example, in conditions that can endanger the safety of life or health if fasting is continued. Muslims who undergo fasting can have different medical conditions, for example, patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, peptic ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, lung disease, heart disease, kidney disease, and pregnancy. Therefore, knowledge of fasting and its effects on various medical conditions. Not many people understand very well about the rules of using drugs when fasting so that therapy does not go well, whereas illness that is not appropriately treated will disrupt our fasting. The solution offered is the existence of this service can provide an understanding to the citizens of Aisyiyah in the city of Palangka Raya about how to use drugs in the month of Ramadan in terms of health science and terms of Islamic principles.

Abstract

Natural ingredients have been known and used all over the world for thousands of years ago. In Indonesia, the natural ingredients, better known as herbal or traditional medicine, has been widespread since the time of the ancestors until now and continues to be preserved as a cultural heritage. The wealth of natural resources that we have is an asset of future development, the problem is how we can exploit that potential wisely and wisely. Siri herbs (Aleurites trisperma) is one of the plants in Indonesia. Pecan sunan (Aleurites trisperma) is the name of the plant given to the plant species of pecan poison. In middle Kalimantan this plant has started cultivated in the field of agriculture as bioindustry and pesticide, there has been no research of the plant is used as a treatment. This study aims to obtain scientific data about the pharmacognostic picture of the hazelnut plants and to enrich the inventory of Indonesian medicinal plants, knowing the simplicia chemicals group of candlenut crops. The method used is experimental research with laboratory approach. The research was conducted with several stages of macroscopic, microscopic and leafy leaves extract obtained by maceration method and fatty test using soxhletation using 96% ethanol solvent. The results of the study on green leaf organoleptic, soft odor (no sting), tasting (preliminary), preliminary test of water content 13.09%, ash 0.9%, fat content 7.46%, crude fiber content 32.82% and phytochemical screening results showed the chemical content of positive sugars leaves contains tannins, alkaloids, saponins, steroids, and terpenoids.

Abstract

Food security is the responsibility of all parties that is the government's responsibility as manager of government which includes order, security, and a prosperous society. The responsibilities of employers or manufacturers as the economic actors that drive business improvement and provide the needs of the community and the consumers who use the goods and services to meet their needs, especially food. The purpose of research is to determine the content of borax and formaldehyde in meatballs sold at the Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya. The method used is experimental research with laboratory approach that will be done with a series of try out. The results of this study show that meatballs in the environment of Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya partially detectable formaldehyde but largely undetectable contain formaldehyde as a hazardous material for Health. While the study of borax is undetectable contain borax, it indicated by the colour of the flame is not green, after the flame test there is no change of color on curcumin paper (still yellow) after the color test is done using curcumin paper.

Abstract

Kasus pandemi Covid-19 membuat krisis kesehatan dan berdampak pada pemasalahanpermasalahanmental dan ekonomi. Jumlah yang semakin banyak terkonfirmasi, semakinhari semakin bertambah, sehingga Palangka Raya melalui Surat Keputusan MenteriKesehatan Republik Indonesia Nomor HK. 01.07/MENKES/294/2020 tentang PenetapanPembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar di Wilayah Kota Palangka Raya Provinsi KalimantanTengah dalam Rangka Percepatan Penanganan Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).Beberapa aktivitas diluar mengalami pembatasan, sehigga semakin membuat sebagianmasyarakat resah dengan kondisi ekonominya. Perlu adanya kegiatan-kegiatan yangdapat memberikan tawaran solusi lainnya yang dapat meningkatkan keahlian yang dandilakukan oleh masyarakat secara terus-menerus selama pandemi ini berlangsung bahkansetelah pandemi ini selesai. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untukmemberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada orangtua tentang perilaku hidupbersih dan sehat, cara membuat aquaphonik, serta cara menurunkan kecemasan denganteknik deep breathing (bernafas dalam-dalam). Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan PKMmeliputi beberapa tahap yaitu observasi, pelaksanaan, pendampingan, dan evaluasiprogram. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman sasaranmeningkat, dapat dilihat dari peningkatan hasil postes yang diberikan setelah kegiatanberlangsung, meningkatnya kemandirian dalam ketahanan pangan keluarga, dankecemasan yang berkurang.

Abstract

Pandemi Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) adalah krisis kesehatan global. Bukti terkini menunjukkan bahwa penularan SARS-CoV-2 dari manusia ke manusia adalah melalui pernapasan, tetesan atau kontak langsung. Penularan dengan cara kontak dari manusia ke manusia terjadi ketika tangan yang terkontaminasi menyentuh mulut, hidung, atau mata. Virus juga dapat berpindah dari satu permukaan ke permukaan lainnya dengan cara bersentuhan tangan. Permasalahan yang di alami SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya sebagai mitra PKM belum mengetahui fungsi minuman Baram sebagai sediaan alkohol dan belum menciptakan produk hand sanitizer berbahan dasar minuman Baram dan lidah buaya (alue vera). Alkohol tradisional yang bersal dari minuman khas suku Dayak Kalimantan Tengah, berupa minuman Baram yang dihasilkan melalui fermentasi yang mengandung alkohol cukup tinggi.Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim PKM adalah Edukasi dan Pelatihan pembuatan hand sanitizer berbahan dasar minuman Baram dan lidah buaya (alue vera). Melalui kegiatan edukasi, mitra dapat mengetahui fungsi Baram sebagai alkohol tradisional. Pada kegiatan pelatihan, mitra dapat membuat hand sanitizer berbahan dasar minuman Baram dan pelatihan Teknik pemasaran hand sanitizer berbahan dasar minuman Baram.Kata kunci : Baram, Dayak, hand sanitizer

Abstract

Kalakai plants or ferns are plants whose habitat is in swamps, including plants that have been consumed for generations as food, sothat kalakai has great potential as a traditional medicine typical of Kalimantan. Hyperlipidemia is a disorder characterized by increased levels of lipids (fats) in the blood, especially cholesterol and triglycerides. The purpose of the study was to determine the antihyperlipidemic effect and to find out at what dose of kalakai leaf extract could reduce lipid levelss in wistar white rats in vivo. The method used is to test the antihyperlipidemic activity method by giving treatment to experimental animals with normal control test groups, positive control, negative control, testing dose of 100 mg/KgBB, testing dose 200 mg/KgBB and testing dose 400mg/KgBB using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. The result obtained for the positive control that the total cholesterol level was 36,4 ± 1,85 and for triglycerides of 33± 3,03 at a total cholesterol dose of 100 mg/KgBB of 69,4 ± 3,00; a dose of 200 mg/KgBB of 56,6 ± 2,24; the dose of 400 mg/KgBB 40± 1,89 while for triglyceride levels the dose of 100 mg/KgBB was 63,4 ± 2,57; a dose of 200 mg/KgBB of 51,8 ± 1,32; and a dose of 400 mg/KgBB of 38 ± 2,00. So the conclusion is that the kalakai leaf extract at a dose of 400mg/KgBB has an antihyperlipidemic effect and is able to reduce lipid levels in wistar white rats in vivo.

Abstract

Kalimantan Tengah terkenal dengan vegetasi tropis yang hijau dan hutan rawa gambut. Salah satu bahan alam berasal dari Kalimantan yang banyak digunakan sebagai tanaman obat adalah kalakai dengan nama lain Stenochlaena palutris (Burm.f.) Bedd. pada bagian akar ternyata mempunyai khasiat juga berpotensi untuk pengobatan. Berdasarkan penelitian Adawiyah dan Rizky menyatakan bahwa IC50 dengan metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-pikrihidrazil) memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat pada ekstrak etanol akar kalakai. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) dilaksanakan pada Kamis, 25 Agustus 2022 dan peserta pada kegiatan ini adalah seluruh siswi Jurusan Kecantikan SMK Negeri 3 Palangka Raya yang berjumlah sebanyak 102 orang. Permasalahan yang dialami oleh peserta adalah dimana sekolah belum dapat mengembangkan kosmetik berbahan alam dan mempraktikkan pembuatan kosmetik berbahan alam. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang manfaat akar kalakai sebagai bahan pembuatan sediaan lotion. Metode yang digunakan oleh tim PkM dengan memberikan edukasi dan pembuatan secara langsung lotion, sedangkan evaluasi yang dilakukan adalah melalui pretest dan posttest serta memberikan hasil produk yang diperoleh kepada peserta kegiatan. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan PkM ini adalah peserta memperoleh peningkatan pemahaman cara pembuatan lotion dan memahami manfaat akar kalakai untuk sediaan lotion, ditunjukkan dari analisis pertanyaan pretest dan posttest. Melalui kegiatan PkM ini terjadi peningkatan pemahaman peserta dalam pembuatan sediaan lotion dari akar kalakai.Central Kalimantan is famous for its green tropical vegetation and peat swamp forests. One of the natural ingredients originating from Kalimantan, which is widely used as a medicinal plant, is kalakai with another name Stenochlaena palutris (Burm.f.) Bedd. The root part turns out to have properties as well as potential for treatment. Based on Adawiyah and Rizky's research, IC50 with the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-pikrihidrazyl) has very strong antioxidant activity in the ethanol extract of kalakai roots. Community Service Activities (PkM) were held on Thursday, August 25 2022, and participants in this activity totaled 102 students from the Beauty Department of SMK Negeri 3 Palangka Raya. The problem experienced by the participants was that schools had not been able to develop cosmetics made from natural ingredients and the practice of making cosmetics made from natural ingredients. This activity aims to increase knowledge about the benefits of kalakai root as an ingredient for making lotion preparations. The method used by the PkM team is to provide education and directly make lotions, while the evaluation is carried out through pretest and posttest and provides the results of the products obtained to the activity participants. Based on the results obtained from this PkM activity, participants gained an increased understanding of how to make lotion. They understood the benefits of kalakai root for lotion preparations, as shown from the analysis of pretest and posttest questions. Through this PkM activity, there was an increase in participants' understanding of making lotion preparations from kalakai roots.
