Abstract

ABSTRAK Tumbuhan kalakai atau sering disebut paku haruan atau pakis  merupakan tumbuhan khas Kalimanatan yang banyak digunakan sebagai tumbuhan obat. Kalakai mengandung beberapa senyawa bioaktif seperti fenolik, flavonoid, alkaloid dan keluarga terpenoid yang efektif sebagai antioksidan.  Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan aktivitas antihiperlipidemia dar i ekstrak akar kalakai yang diuji secara in vivo pada tikus wistar. Metode yang digunakan adalah melakukan uji aktivitas antihiperlipidemia dengan cara memberi perlakuan hewan coba dan melakukan pengukuran kadar trigliserida dan kolesterol total dengan menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-VIS. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa peningkatan dosis dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dari ekstrak akar  kalakai. Semakin meningkatnya dosis,  maka terjadi peningkatan pertemuan antara flavonoid dengan reseptor di permukaan sel, sehingga terjadi peningkatan aktivitas. Aktivitas dari pemberian dosis ke-3 dari kadar trigliserida sebesar 49,8 mg/dl sedangkan untuk kadar kolesterolnya sebesar 41,8 mg/dl pada hasil yang didapat dari ekstrak akar kalakai  mendekati pemberian dari kadar  simvastatin. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka ekstrak dengan dosis 400 mg/KgBB memiliki potensi untuk teliti lebih lanjut dan dapat digunakansebagai obat alternatif pada pengobatan hiperlipidemia. Keadaan hiperlipidemia tidak hanya terkait kolesterol, tetapi mencakup kadar trigliserida di dalam darah. Kemampuan suatu obat dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol sekaligus kadar trigliserida, akan memberikan keuntungan terhadap pengobatan pasien hiperlipidemia. Penggunaan akar kalakai tidak hanya terbatas pada pengobatan karena bahan alam dapat digunakan sebagai pencegah timbulnya penyakit terutama hiperlipidemia yang terjadi pada pasien degeneratif. Kata kunci : Ektrak akar kalakai, In Vivo, Kolesterol, SpektrofotometerUV-VIS, Trigliserida  ABSTRACT Kalakai plants or often called haruan nails or ferns are typical Kalimanatan plants which are widely used as medicinal plants. Kalakai contains several bioactive compounds such as phenolic, flavonoid, alkaloid and terpenoid family which are effective as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to determine the antihyperlipidemic activity of kalakai root extract which was tested in vivo in Wistar rats. The method used is to test the activity of antihyperlipidemia by giving treatment of experimental animal and to measure levels of triglycerides and total cholesterol using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. the results of the study note that increasing the dose can increase the activity of the kalakai root extract. As the dose incr eases, there is an increase in the linkage between the flavonoids and receptors on the cell surface, resulting in increased activity . The activity of administering the 3rd dose of triglyceride levels was 49.8 mg/dl whereas for cholesterol levels it was 41.8 mg/dl in the result obtained from the extract of kalakai root approaching the administration of simvastatin levels. Based on this, the extract at a dose of 400mg/kg has the potensial for further scrutiny and can be used as an alternative drug in the treatment of hyperlipidemia. The state of hyperlipidemia is not only related to cholesterol, but includes the level of triglycerides in the blood. The ability of a drug to reduce cholesterol levels as well as triglyceride levels, will provide benefits to the treatm ent of hyperlipidemia patients. The use of kalakai root is not only limited to treatment because natural ingredients can be use d as a prevention of disease, especially hyperlipidemia that occurs in degenerative patients. Keywords: Kalakai root extract, In Vivo, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer

Abstract

The yard around as the most direct way of providing daily food and a source of income for the purchase of other foods. The yard around can provide enough nutritious food and income for the sale of yard around produce. However, the narrow yard is one problem to grow vegetables. Verticulture is a system of agricultural cultivation where the planting area arranged vertically or terraced to allow the efficiency of limited land. One solution for the community can develop a farm for providing food to families with the verticulture system. Vertikultur is a method of cultivation that the principle is the effective use of land. The benefit obtained is able to provide the family needed on vegetables and also make the atmosphere around the house to be fresher. Aesthetically, vertically landscaped gardens serve as a backdrop that presents beautiful scenery in various colors. This program was conducted at Perum PU Bukit Tunggal, Jekan Raya, Palangkaraya. Methods of this program by socialization with training and pamphlets and vegetables cultivation workshop verticulture and housewife as the participant. The purpose of this program can supply households with nearly all the foods they need, reducing the cost of vegetable spending for their family. Given the price of vegetables in the city of Palangka Raya quite expensive. The result of this program that is a housewife and their family can improving capability and skill on verticulture technology mastery like preparation of planting media, planting and plant treatment, pest and disease control, harvesting and post-harvesting treatment.

Abstract

Lifeskills counseling attempts to help clients gain strength and eliminate the weakness of their thinking and acting skills; and gain an understanding of the language of skills, namely the ability to think and analyze their behavior in the form of skills. The purpose of this community service is to give lifeskill counseling services intensively to the participants in the program through the implementation of lifeskill counseling activities in the lifeskills program at the Social House of Bina Remaja dan Karya Wanita (PSBRKW) “Majar Tabela” Palangka Raya of Central Kalimantan Province. Implementation of lifeskill counseling services truely has a strong impact on the anchoring process for participants who are participating in the program so that the participants have the ability to understand the most useful affective values of their lives after leaving the program: first, they understandthe others; Second, they are be able to anticipate, recognize, and strive to meet the needs of friends around them; Third, they are be able to feel the needs of others' development and try to increase their abilities; Fourth, they are be able to open opportunities through association with various people and able to overcome the problem of difference.

Abstract

Hydroponics is a method of growing crops without using soil media but with a nutrient solution of minerals or other materials. The media used includes household waste, such as used bottles, buckets, hoses, pots, paralon, stove wicks, and other household items. This technique can be applied to the yard of the house to produce vegetables for the family. The purpose of the service is that the Mungku Baru Village Community can optimize their yards for agricultural crop cultivation using a floating raft hydroponic system and duck bucket to improve food security during the Covid-19/post-covid-19 pandemics. The activity was carried out in Mungku Baru Village, Rakumpit District, Palangka Raya City in August 2020. The method of this activity is by way of counseling and workshops or extension activities, and the practice of making simple hydroponics statically, namely by explaining simple hydroponic cultivation techniques directly and demonstrating them, and activity participants are given simple hydroponic cultivation pamphlets as a guide to hydroponic techniques in their homes. As a result of this activity, the community has prepared a hydroponic place, followed by preparing plant life media, sowing seeds, planting seeds, and making hydroponic solutions directly. They know the dosage of using the hydroponic nutrient solution in its application. The community cultivates vegetables with a simple hydroponic method placed on the terraces and yards of the house with vegetables that are easy to grow, harvest quickly, and easy to maintain.

Abstract

This study is required by students to understand directly the circulatory system in humans with the three dimensional tools of human circulatory system. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of three dimensional tools on science process skills of human circulatory system on circulation process material of senior high school students. The design of this study used was pretest-posttest control group design, in this design, there were two groups selected at random, then given pretest and postes. The study was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya. The period of this study was July 2014 - April 2015. The sample of the study was the students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya in XI class on the first semester, as many as two classes of experimental class and control class with the number of control class students was 29 students, experimental class was 21 students. Data collection was tested with multiple choice questions to measure students’ learning outcomes, observation sheet to measure students' science process skill and using N gain then analyzed by t test. The results showed that the three dimensional tools of human circulatory system has a very significant effect on the improvement of science process skills with the most dominant indicator is in the observation. Based on the result of the study can be concluded that the use of three dimensional tools of human circulatory system can improve the science process skills of senior high school students.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know and identify how many weed seeds that can grow to the planting media and how much its growth on the planting media of peat soil after it was given prior by dolomite lime before it is used for cultivation of horticultural crops. This study was carried out for 4 (four) months in June-September 2015 in Experimental Garden of Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya University at Jalan Anggrek, Village of Kereng Bangkirai, District of Sabangau, the City of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan Province. The treatment factors were tested by using a completely randomized design with 9 replicates the form of dolomite lime (D) to the planting media peat soil that consists of 4 levels: D0 = 0 ton/ha; D1 = 3 tons/ha; D2 = 6 tons/ha; and D3 = 9 tons/ha. The observations were made on the number of weeds, the weight of wet weed that grows and the weight of dry weeds that grow during 14 days since the beginning of the incubation period of the planting media. The data were analyzed by using analysis of variance (F test) at the level of α = 0.05 and 0.01, and continued by using Fair Significant Difference Test at the 0.05 level.

Abstract

Cultivation of chili is a farming activity promising an interesting profits and the market demand for the chili is high. Many chili farmers in controlling pests use chemical pesticides because it is considered more efficient and fast, actually the chemical pesticides do not kill insects’ pests, but it creates a new form of defense for insects’ pests. In another effort to find alternative pesticides are expected to be more lenient, then developing the manufacture of pesticides made from natural materials exist around the neighborhood, known by name "botanical pesticide" or "organic pesticide", because of almost all the ingredients derived from plants. The purpose of this study was to control brown leaves insects’ pests on chili by using citronella extract. The time in doing this study was as long as from October to November 2016. The study was done on Jl. Meranti IV Panarung Village, District Pahandut, the city of Palangka Raya. From the results of the experiment of several concentration of extract of citronella 25 ml, 50 ml and 75 ml and 100 ml mixed with clean water for pest control of brown leaves insect on the chili, factually, by using concentration of citronella extract of 75 ml and 100 ml mixed with clean water, it can be reducing brown leaves insects’ pest.

Abstract

Learning by using aids will greatly help students understand the concepts contained in learning materials. The aid in learning circulation of blood is very needed by students to understand directly the blood circulatory system in humans. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the three-dimensional visual aids in learning outcomes of material human blood circulatory system on high school students. The method used in this study was pretest-posttest control group design, in this design, there were two groups of randomly selected, and then the groups given a pretest to determine the initial condition is the difference between the experimental group and the control group. This study was conducted in period from April to May 2015. The sample of this study was the students of class XI in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya in odd semestre. The study was taken two classes, namely as an experimental class and control class. The number of the students of control class was 29 students, and for experiments class was 21 students. The data collected by a test with the form of multiple choice questions to measure student learning outcomes. The result of this study showed that the three-dimensional aids in learning human blood circulatory system had significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes, based on t-test using SPSS software version 16.0. So, it can be concluded that the use of the three-dimensional aids in learning human circulatory system will improve the students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and find the growth potency on the seeds germination and seedling growth of Morinda plant from seed on the kind of plant media composition from March to June 2014 in Panarung, Palangka Raya. This experiment used single treatment with randomized complete design, each treatment was repeated ten times. The treatment consist of single factor is kind of plant media composition in five mixture composition and ratio : s1 = mixture of mineral soil + peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1:1), s2 = mixture of mineral soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:0,5:0,5), s3 = mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:0,5:0,5), s4 = mixture of mineral soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1), and s5 = mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1). Variable response of this research is a time of germination, the percentage of seeding, height of the plant, number of leaves, the diameter of the stem, and leaf area on 12 weeks after seeding. The experiment resulted, showed that plant media composition is very significant to high plant and leaf area seeding of morinda, but not significant to a number of leaf and diameter of stem on 12 weeks after seeding. Plant media composition that mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1) is the best treatment to support germination and increase seedling growth.

Abstract

Segau atau sawi lokal khas Dayak di Kalimantan merupakan sejenis sawi dengan rasa pahit dan biasa dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Segau biasa ditanam bersamaan dengan saat penanaman padi ladang/gunung di daerah masyarakat suku Dayak di Kalimantan. Sampai saat ini belum ada panduan teknik budidaya untuk meningkatkan produksi tanaman segau. Tanaman sawi lokal (segau) biasanya ditanam 1 kali setahun yaitu saat musim tanam Oktober – Maret bersamaan dengan penanaman padi di lahan tegalan. Budidaya segau selama ini dilakukan oleh petani masih dengan cara tradisional. Penelitian tentang budidaya tanaman segau perlu dilakukan mengingat segau merupakan salah satu kearifan lokal yang dimiliki dan harus dilestarikan agar tidak punah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan segau/sawi lokal khas dayak pada perlakuan pupuk organik. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari dua faktor perlakuan. Faktor I pupuk kandang ayam dan faktor II kompos kiambang. Terdapat interaksi perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dan kompos kiambang pada parameter diameter batang tanaman segau. Perlakuan faktor tunggal pupuk kandang ayam berpengaruh sangat nyata pada panjang tajuk, jumlah daun, diameter batang, bobot basah tajuk, bobot basah akar, rasio panjang akar tajuk, berpengaruh nyata pada rasio bobot basah akar-tajuk dan nilai indeks panen. Pada parameter Indeks Panen, perlakuan terbaik adalah perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dengan dosis 10 ton/ha.
