Abstract

High impact of product damage by injection molds process on polymer waste processing unit was seriously affected to quality and sustainability production. In this study effect of injection mold design was minimized by investigated and redesign injection molding system. The main equipments of injection molding system which is available at Unit Pengolahan Limbah Plastik Dinas Kebersihan dan Permanan Kota Banda Aceh are polymer waste cutting, splitting and cleaning devices and injection molding machine. According to observation conducted previously on current injection molding product and mold found that failure of product caused by mis-design of mould. Products defects occurred are sink mark, weld line and air trap. Mold-Flow software was used to modeling and simulating injection mold process. Based on simulation result and discussion found that defected products have been able minimized. By modifying sprue location and redesign mold, products defect minimized and injection pressure still remain to push polymer to mold inlet  at range 0,72-0,48 Mpa

Abstract

Thermal energy is one form of energy that is very crucial for human being. It can be obtained through the sun, i.e, that is solar energy. Solar energy is used widely both in industry and houshold. One of the most important component of solar water heater is thermal energy collector or known as absorber. Solar collector is a device utilized to convert sun radiation to thermal energy. This research wanted to examine the effect of different shapes of collector. The methodolody used is by varying the shapes of plat plate, where plate A has a square shape and plate B has has isosceles shape. Collector dimension is 1.5x0.8 m with these two shapes constructed from stainless steel. Pipe used for fluid is made from copper with 1 in diameter and 1.4 m length. Thermal insolation is used from rubber to decrease heat loss from pipe. Plate B collector with isosceles shape showed the highest efficiency compared to plate A collector with square shape. The highest outlet fluid temperature from plate B is 670C with sun radiation 1198 W/m2. The highest useful energy is 209.91 Watt from plate B at 13.30 and efficiency is 16.23% at 13.00WIB.

Abstract

The focus of community service activities in Alue Naga Village is to provide solutions to the problem of limited electrical energy experienced by the people in Acehr. The purpose of community service is to downstream the results of the author's research on renewable energy technology for the island community. This community service method is (1) Training and technical guidance by the implementing team to partners regarding the operation and maintenance of the appropriate technology system that is applied; (2) the application of appropriate technology based on renewable energy in the form of solar street lights and wind power to increase access to electricity. Through technology transfer in this Community Service activity, it is hoped that the implementation of technology will be maintained continuously; The results of community service are the installation of the application of appropriate technology in the form of solar and wind power and increasing public knowledge about appropriate technology which is carried out through training to community youth partners in Alue Naga Village, Banda Aceh City.

Abstract

The use of plastic and goods made of plastic have been rising in day to day. Increasing use of plastics is a consequence of the development of technology, industry and population. On one hand, the invention of plastic has a remarkable positive impact, because it has many advantages compared to other materials. But on the other hand, the plastic waste has negative impact that too worried, so its solutions need to be looked for. One of the alternative handling of plastic waste that currently extensively researched and developed is converting plastic waste into fuel. Converting plastic waste into fuel oil can be done with cracking process. There are three kinds of process that is hydro cracking, thermal cracking and catalytic cracking. Fuel oil produced from the cracking of plastic waste depending on the plastic type, cracking process used, catalyst type, pyrolisis temperature and condenser temperature.

Abstract

The Nagan Raya coal-fired power plant in Aceh, Indonesia, serves as a major supplier of electricity to the region's power grid. However, the power generation unit of the plant, which supplies reactive power to the subsystem, often experiences disturbances that cause voltage values in the Banda Aceh substation system to decrease. This decrease in voltage can be detrimental to the quality of power supplied to the consumers. To address this issue, a capacitor bank with a capacity of 25 Mvar was installed at the end of 2016. The capacitor bank was successful in increasing the voltage value at the substation and proved to be an effective solution. However, with the anticipated growth in load in the coming years and the possibility of future disturbances in the power generation unit, it has been proposed that an additional capacitor bank unit with the same capacity be installed to further enhance the voltage quality at the Banda Aceh substation. To assess the feasibility of this proposal, simulations were carried out using ETAP 12.6.0 software. The simulation results show that the addition of a 25 Mvar capacitor bank unit would lead to an increase in the substation voltage value of around 5-6 KV. This increase in voltage would help to maintain the quality of power supplied to the consumers and ensure that the power grid remains stable even in the event of disturbances in the power generation unit. Overall, the proposed installation of an additional capacitor bank unit would be a cost-effective solution to enhance the voltage quality at the Banda Aceh substation and ensure the stability of the power grid. This solution could be adopted by other power plants facing similar issues in maintaining voltage quality in their power grid systems.

Abstract

In Aceh Besar, Suka Makmur and Lam Phueot villages, lotus root souvenir manufacturing faces several obstacles such as inadequate marketing strategies and lack of skill in the process. Therefore, this initiative seeks to provide partners with production-related solutions by integrating technology with Rencong souvenir molds. The implementation team also performs socialization and consulting related to internet marketing of products to increase market access and outreach. Program objectives were achieved using the Participatory Rural Assessment Act (PRA). From this initiative, his Mitra Pak Majid of Rencong Souvenir Crafts was able to provide capital support in the form of a bulk casting business.

Abstract

Data acquisition is the process of collecting data or information from various sources, including sensors, software, hardware, or humans, for use in analysis or decision-making. The purpose of data acquisition is to collect data that is accurate, reliable, and useful for further analysis or decision-making. In introducing the concept of data acquisition, acquisition introduction training was conducted for the teaching staff. Data acquisition training covers the process of transferring data from sensors to Google Sheets. For teaching staff at SMK Negeri 2 Banda Aceh, the use of Google Spreadsheets is still too common. Therefore, the community service team successfully carried out training activities on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. The training included an introduction to the ESP8266 microcontroller, then continued with the introduction of Google Spreadsheets, taught how to assemble hardware in the form of DHT11 sensors and ESP8266 microcontrollers, and carried out the process sending data as well as storing data on Google Sheets. This activity has a positive impact on improving the ability of teaching staff and indirectly can be applied in teaching materials or applied in everyday life.
