Abstract

The agricultural sector is the most important sector in the Indonesian and Chinese economies. The role of this sector is not only in international trade activities, but also plays a role in the domestic economy, including food sufficiency. The agricultural policies of Indonesia and China are not only oriented to increasing agricultural productivity for trade purposes but also to improving the standard of living of the people, especially farmers. The flow of economic liberalization brought by the World Trade Organization (WTO) has become a dilemma for Indonesian and Chinese agriculture. On the one hand, the WTO accession decision opens access to wider international trade, but on the other hand, both countries must protect their agriculture through the determination of prices for agricultural products by the government. This paper aims to find out the comparison of Indonesia's exports and imports with China in the field of trade in agricultural products after the implementation of the Agreement on Agriculture (AoA) or agricultural agreements which are part of the WTO from January 1, 1995, to the present. The results of the study obtained that the comparison of Indonesia's exports and imports with China was more optimal. From the research results, it can be used as a comparison for the government in determining further policies to get maximum results.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one attempt most vulnerable to the negative effects of climate change. Behavior extreme climate led not deficient or damage to the irrigation network, the farming, and agricultural infrastructure. To minimize risk losses from a threat that happened on agriculture. One alternative instrument risk management worth considering is the presence of agricultural insurance. The purpose of this research is to study a sort of descriptive program, identify, analyze, and describe a characteristic response of farmers on the insurance program rice farming (AUTP) in the Kramatwatu district. The methodology used in research is the method survey; the location of research is purposive on the basis that Kramatwatu district is a district that members of the farmer's group have an interest in the participation of the highest AUTP program. An analysis of the data used was analysis descriptive is used to give the percentage identification elements communication and the effectiveness of communication. While relations communication element to analyze the effectiveness of communication producers and farmers in the activities of the barns using analysis inferential through correlation test rank spearman. Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the cognitive response category agreed (46%), effective response category agreed (26%), conative response categories agreed (23%), and The results of this study indicate that of all factors associated with the level of farmer participation the AUTP program in Kramatwatu sub-district has an average valuation that includes the income and education factors have a weak but relative relationship, then the age factor and the area of land do not give any relation to the farmer's participation in the AUTP program.

Abstract

Shallots (Allium ascolonicum, L) are high-value horticultural commodities that need to be developed as strategic commodities in addition to rice, red chilies, chicken and beef. In addition, shallots have a high economic value and are a commodity used in the processing of various foods. This causes the consumption or demand for shallots to increase along with the increase in population. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the cost structure of shallot farming with the aim of the market for consumption and for the fried onion industry in Majalengka District, Majalengka Regency. The method used to estimate the Cobb-Douglas production function is the stochastic frontier method, with the sampling technique used in this study, namely proportional random sampling. Based on the results of the analysis, it is found that the cost structure of shallot farming for the purpose of the fried onion industry and consumption is feasible when viewed from the R/C ratio of the average agricultural destination for the fried onion industry with a value of 1.25 and for shallot farming for consumption purposes with a value of 1.30, where R/C > 1. Meanwhile, the production factor that requires the largest cost for shallot farming, the purpose of the fried onion industry, is the cost of seeds / seeds with a value of IDR. 13,548,300 and the largest cost used by shallot farming for consumption purposes is the cost of seeds / seedlings of IDR. 30,870,148.94. This is due to the need for seeds for an area of one hectare, the price of seeds is quite high due to the limited number of seeds / seeds needed so that the price of seeds increases and the factor of chaos also affects the limited number of seeds needed. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for local governments in developing agriculture, especially in the shallot tabi business sector.

Abstract

The imbalance of inter-regional economic development is a common phenomenon that occurs in the process of economic development of a region. This interregional inequality was originally caused by differences in natural resource content and differences in demographic conditions in each region. As a result of these differences, the ability of an area to increase economic growth and encourage the development process also becomes different. Therefore, it is not surprising that in every region there is usually a relatively developed region and a relatively underdeveloped region. This study aims to analyze how big the level of income inequality that occurs between regencies/cities in Banten Province. Identifying the base sector in each district/city in Banten Province, and predicting the base sector in the future in each Regency/City of Banten Province. Abstract

The current condition of fishermen in Indonesia is still far from prosperous, especially small fishermen who generally have an income of less than one million/month. Fishermen are faced with constraints on the characteristics of their fishing business which depend on climate change, weather uncertainty, and sea waves, so they pose a high risk. This affects the low income of these fishermen because fishermen working hours are very dependent on the weather so if the sea waves are high or other bad weather, fishermen are forced not to go to sea. Therefore, it is necessary to protect fishermen through fisherman insurance. Currently, the government has been trying to increase the target of fish production and consumption through protection and welfare for fishermen. One of the efforts to improve fishermen's welfare is a work program that guarantees protection against risks to fishermen, fish cultivators, and salt farmers. This program targets 1 million insurance for fishermen spread across the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. One of the government's efforts to protect fishermen and their families is through the provision of Insurance Premium Assistance for Fishermen. This effort is intended to provide guaranteed protection against risks experienced by fishermen, such as death, permanent disability, and medical costs; as well as provide awareness of insurance for fishermen. However, currently, fishermen's income is not included in the risk guarantee from the fishermen’s insurance program. Even though the income of fishermen is one of the criteria for measuring the economy of coastal communities who work as fishermen and indirectly can determine the maritime economy. Therefore, we as academics intend to conduct training and socialization of economic empowerment of fishing communities based on knowledge, skills, and potential in Cirebon Fishermen Village through Community Service programs. The material that will be provided in this Community Service activity is related to the economic empowerment of fishermen communities and community-based fisherman insurance. This material will be given to the workshop session both to the local community.
