Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai Persepsi Mahasiswa/i Universitas Sumatera Utara Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi Terhadap Budaya K-Pop Di Media. Perumusan masalahnya adalah Bagaimana persepsi mahasiswa/i di Universitas Sumatera Utara Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi terhadap budaya K-Pop di media. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Sumatera Utara Terhadap Budaya K-Pop Di Media.Teori utama yang digunakan adalah Teori Uses and Gratification Uses and gratifications muncul karena adanya kebutuhan dan motif penggunaan media. Studi inimemusatkan perhatian pada penggunaan (uses) media untuk mendapatkan kepuasan(gratification) atas kebutuhan seseorang. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Sampel penelitian yaitu dengan 10 informan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan oleh peneliti adalah wawancara dan obsrevasi. Metode analisa yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif, dimana mendeskripsikan hasil data yang diperoleh. Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh hasil yang positif, hal ini dapat dilihat dari persepsi dan respon mahasiswa terhadap dampak yang dirasakan oleh mahasiswa/i Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Sumatera Utara tersebut.

Abstract

This study is entitled "Digital Orbit in Building Public Communication in Medan City During the Covid-19 Pandemic" This research is to find out and analyze: Digital Orbit in building public communication in Medan City During the Covid-19 Pandemic Period. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. In this method the researcher described how the situation in the field where the research is carried out. The research was done by using field studies with the process of collecting data through observation, and also interviews with 6 respondents. From the results of the research conducted, it is proven that what is taken is public communication theory, digital media theory, new media theory. This theory relates to the implementation and implications of what has been done by Orbit Digital in building Public Communications in the city of Medan during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted at the Bumi Jurnalis Orbit Building, Jl. Bumi Asri Complex Dormitory Medan. Informants interviewed were from academics, Orbit Digital journalists, company leaders, editor-in-chief and residents of the city of Medan. From the results of the research conducted, there were 5 main points that became the results of the research, namely strategies, forms, methods, challenges and obstacles as well as the success of Digital Orbit in building Public Communication in the city of Medan during the Covid-19 Pandemic. And how is Orbit Digital in building public communication in the city of Medan. The conclusion is Digital Orbit has developed public communication in the city of Medan during the Covid-19 period. This was stated by the opinion of the informants who considered that Orbit Digital had provided correct and educational news.

Abstract

This study discusses the communication strategy used by the Culture and Tourism Office in succeeding the flower and fruit festival in Karo Regency. This is a descriptive qualitative research. The techniques of collecting data are using the method of observation and in-depth interviews with research informants and using literature or documents that support research. Descriptive analysis results show that the communication strategy carried out by the Culture and Tourism Office in terms of the target audience strategy still prioritizes the local community. As for the message packaged strategy, it can be seen that there are efforts to improve the types of events and collaborative efforts with third parties to enliven the event. But the Office is still not optimal in conducting To Establish Acceptance, or controlling or ensuring messages are well received from related parties, such as regarding the smooth transportation to the event center. This can be seen from the total congestion that hit, so that many visitors did not arrive at the Flower and Fruit Festival. From the media strategy, the government should increase the use of diverse and targeted media and collaborate with travel agents so as to be able to provide extensive and persuasive information, especially for foreign tourists.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the role of public relations Department of Culture, Tourism and Youth in Sport in improving tourism services for the coast of Sorake in South Nias Regency. The method to this research is to use a qualitative approach. The results obtained are the role of the Public Relations Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports Youth in improving Sorake Beach services, South Nias Regency is still not well implemented duei in to the difficulty of building communication with local communities in terms of cooperation in to maintaining the supporting large development processes and facilities and implementation of the program activities. Supporting factors fort to in tourism to Sorake Beach are supported by several components related to tourist activities such as the condition of the tourist objects, social facilities in tourist objects, ease of transportation, security and orderliness of tourist objects, as well as government policies related to the tourism sector while the inhibiting factor is the lack of the guidance, socialization, training for the community around the Sorake beach so that people experience various misunderstandings against tourists visiting the beach and some of the community are not willing to give their land to be used as a tourist attraction.

Abstract

Public relations plays an important role in every institution because public relations is one of the strategies in shaping the company's image, both positive and negative images. In shaping the image of an institution, public relations usually has a broad relationship. This study aims at determining how the strategy of public relations communication and to find out how the barriers of public relations in the Department of Communication and Information of the Government of Simalungun Regency in shaping the image of government. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study indicate that the public relations communication strategy in the Department of Communication and Information of the Simalungun Regency Government is to carry out two communications, namely internal communication and external communication. Barriers to public relations in the Department of Communication and Information of the Simalungun Regency Government are inadequate resources, large costs and difficulties in creativity. To achieve the objectives of the Simalungun Regency Government's Communication and Information Office in shaping the image of the government, it requires hard work, high discipline, professional skills and expertise in the field of public relations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine tourist perceptions of five heritage tourist destinations in the city of Medan, namely the Lonsum Building, Tjong A Fie Mansion, Maimoon Palace, the Great Post Office, and the Al-Mahsun Mosque. The approach or research method used in this research is descriptive quantitative survey method which aims to analyze and explain the causal effect between independent and dependent variables through hypothesis testing. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the perception of tourists visiting five heritage tourist destinations in Medan City, the majority gave a positive response both in terms of marketing, accessibility, destination attractiveness, to human resources. even if there is a negative perception only a small part of it as part of the evaluation for managers and related agencies. This can be seen from the exposure of the single table that the researcher has included in this thesis

Abstract

This study aims at discussing the marketing communication strategy used by Department of Culture in introducing the Dor Ketoprak Festival as a local wisdom in Medan and implementing the marketing communication strategy in introducing the Dor Ketoprak Festival. Technique of collecting the data used is field research using obsertvation and interview method. Data analysis was done by qualitative research approach. Research findings show that there was a lack of preparedness in the planning and implementation, which still seems to lack data and coordination with the Ketoprak Dor group, it is not done yet a training has not been made to the Ketoprak Dor artists, as well as not yet approaching and establishing good relationships and cooperation with related parties such as the executive, private parties, the press, and others to strive to further introduce ketoprak art and culture to the general public and tourists in particular.

Abstract

This research is entitled Semiotic Analysis of the Moral Message of the Korean Drama Itaewon Class. By understanding a semiotic analysis to feel something strange and something that needs to be questioned further when reading a certain text or narrative, the Semiotics used is Roland Barthes' semiotics. According to Barthes, everything that is fixed, steady, stable, is a myth. The purpose of this study is to analyze the construction of communication messages in the Korean Drama Itaewon Class and the semiotic aspects of the moral message. The research method used is qualitative research. This study uses a constructivist paradigm that is antithetical to the notion that puts observation and objectivity in finding a reality. Korean dramas are dramas that describe the lives of Korean people with stories that involve various conflicts and are broadcast within a certain time interval. Meanwhile, semiotics in Korean films may still be considered too young when compared to Hollywood, which was a pioneer in the film industry. By looking at the development of cinematography, we can see that Korean cinema is gradually catching up to the success of the Hollywood film industry. The results of the study show that the moral message is something good that is adjusted to the measures of action that are generally accepted, including certain social or environmental units.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan komunikasi organisasi dalam meningkatkan motivasi kerja karyawan serta efektivitas komunikasi organisasi dalam meningkatkan motivasi kerja karyawan di kantor cabang Bandar Udara Internasional Kualanamu Deli Serdang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Kualitatif, informan penelitian ini adalah 5 orang karyawan personel airport security PT. Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Kantor Cabang Bandar Udara Internasional Kualanamu Deli Serdang. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa komunikasi organisasi airport security terlaksana dengan baik. Program-program yang telah dilaksanakan oleh kantor cabang umumnya dan airport security sendiri khusunya telah berjalan dengan intensif. Adanya kegiatan apel pagi dan malam sebelum memulai pelaksanaan tugas serta kegiatan knowledge sharing yang dilaksanakan dalam dua kali setiap bulannya merupakan faktor pendorong motivasi kerja, efektivitas komunikasi organisasi serta cara membangun komunikasi organisasi yang baik antara pimpinan kepada bawahan maupun sebaliknya di dalam organisasi airport security kualanamu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pola komunikasi dan bentuk identitas diri komunitas Fandom ARMY Indonesia khususnya di media sosial WhatsApp. Komunitas Fandom ARMY Indonesia merupakan komunitas yang terbentuk dari latar belakang yang sama yaitu memiliki kecintaan dan kegemaran terhadap musik Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS). Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori interaksi simbolik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian netnografi komunikasi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi partisipan, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah enam orang yang tergabung dalam satu grup WhatsApp yang sama. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, proses komunikasi komunitas ARMY Fandom Indonesia membentuk tiga pola komunikasi, yaitu pola komunikasi satu arah, pola komunikasi dua arah, dan pola komunikasi tiga arah. Pola komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh ARMY Indonesia terbilang unik yaitu dengan menggunakan stiker BTS dan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia dan Korea. Hasil observasi juga menunjukkan bahwa identitas ARMY Indonesia dapat dilihat dari item yang digunakan sehubungan dengan BTS dan BTS Marchandise.
