Abstract

This article aims to describe and analyze the changes in the function of the Mbaham Matta tribe's ‘tummour’ dance in the past and the present and to find out what efforts were made to be able to maintain the ‘Tummour’ dance of the Mbaham Matta tribe in Fakfak Regency in general. This research is qualitative using data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research results show that the ‘tummour’ dance in the past was used as traditional rituals, traditional parties, to gather the masses, to summon ancestral spirits, to dance the victory of the war and to stem the coming dangers. The change in the function of the ‘tummour’ dance occurred because of the entry of religion and government. Changes that occur are not only in the function of the ‘tummour’ dance, but the attributes used have also changed. Then, the efforts made so that the ‘Tummour’ dance can survive include opening a dance studio and preserving the ‘Tummour’ dance through socialization (transfer of knowledge) or introducing it to the younger generation.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the views of the Walak Tribe on the education of Walak Tribe women and analyze what factors hinder and support the education of Walak Tribe women in Wolo District. This research is qualitative in nature which uses data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study are basically, some people in Kukurima Village, Wollo District already know the meaning and impact of education, the Walak tribe community views that education for Walak women is very necessary, girls are not prohibited from school or considered low, and can be placed equal to men in terms of getting an education. Education is one of the ways that women become agents of change (agents of change) and not just passive recipients of empowerment programs. Education is also one of the factors that enables women to have economic independence by working both outside and inside their homes. The inhibiting and supporting factors for the education of Walak women include. The factors inhibiting education for Walak Tribe women are internal, namely those that come from within themselves, especially in the form of self-awareness and motivation. Meanwhile, external factors are those that come from outside of women such as family support, especially parents, including the government and local communities.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat yang masih kurang peduli akan pendidikan anak di usia dini dan membantu para tenaga pengajar dalam pembelajaran inovatif di PAUD Koya Tengah. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu studi lapangan. Studi lapangan melalui data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi serta studi kepustakaan untuk mendukung permasalahan. Metode pengabdian masyarakat yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif yang hasil penelitiannya berupa narasi atau teks. Dan dari hasil pengabdian masyarakat  yang dilakukan oleh penulis kesadaran penduduk di kampung Koya Tengah dan orang tua murid di PAUD Koya Tengah masih sangat kurang. Dan masih butuhnya bimbingan tenaga pengajar melalui pelatihan pembelajaran inovatif . Sehingga dengan adanya kegiatan penyuluhan yang menargetkan para warga kampung Koya Tengah dan orang tua murid di PAUD Koya Tengah serta pelatihan pada bunda PAUD menjadi solusi untuk kemajuan dan perkembangan anak serta PAUD Koya Tengah yang berada di lingkungan Distrik Muara Tami

Abstract

GKI Martin Luther Sentani is one of the churches located in Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. GKI Martin Luther's congregation consists of four elements, one of which is the Children and Youth Association (PAR). From the results of discussions and interviews with several Sunday School teachers, information was obtained that the parents of Sunday School children complained when their children asked about lessons in formal schools, especially science subjects. When children offer assignments or homework from school, sometimes parents spontaneously asked the children to ask other people, especially assignments or homework for math subjects. of course, this problem is very important to find a solution considering that mathematics is a basic science. It is also known that Sunday School teachers are also often the place for Sunday School children to ask questions about assignments or homework from formal schools, especially about geometry. If faced with questions from Sunday School children about geometry, only some of sunday school teachers who can explain it.  The explanation from the Sunday school teacher also sometimes makes children confused or difficult to understand what is explained. Taking into account the problems faced by Sunday School children, Sunday School teachers, in this case the PAR GKI Executive Board (BP) Martin Luther Sentani Church and the community service team, consider it necessary to hold activities that involve Sunday School children. The purpose of this activity is to inform or introduce geometry through concrete media as well as identifying the nature and elements of geometry and to hone Sunday school children's creations in learning about geometry through concrete media using paper and straws. Implementation of this service using several methods, that are the lecture, question and answer, and demonstrations.  With this service activity, the participant’s knowledge about the concept or theory of geometry does not only come from textbooks but also through concrete media so that learning becomes fun. Apart from that, it sharpens the participant's creations in learning mathematics, especially in learning geometry.Keywords:  mathematics learning; geometry; creation Jayapura

Abstract

Pelaksanaan ihwal pengabdian masyarakat ini mengusung topik “Peran Sanggar Seni Sebagai Rumah Peradaban: Sebuah Upaya Menjaga warisan budaya di Kampung Mamda Yawan”. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk melakukan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan mengenai pentingnya peran sanggar seni dalam melestarikan kebudayaan tradisional yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat pada kampung Mamda Yawan, Distrik Kemtuk Kabupaten Jayapura. Adapun yang rangkaian sosialisasi yang dilakukan meliputi, Persiapan Pelaksanaan Kegiatan, Persiapan Kelengkapan Kegiatan Penyuluhan dan Pendampingan, Pelaksanaan Penyuluhan, Pelaksanaan Pendampingan dan Pelatihan, dan Dokumentasi Akhir dan Evaluasi. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan memperlihatkan dari hasil kegiatan penyuluhan untuk mengembangkan sanggar seni sebagai rumah peradaban dalam rangka melestarikan kebudayaan tradisional. Namun, kendala yang masih dihadapi adalah kurangnya infrastuktur pendukung dalam pengoperasiannya, olehnya peran lisntas stakeholder, seperti pemerintah, LSM dan akademisi sangat dubutuhkan untuk bersama-sama mengawal pengembangan kebudayaan daerah, yang salah satunya melalui sanggar seni sebagai rumah peradaban.

Abstract

Practical activities are part of teaching which aims to give students the opportunity to test and implement in real situations what is obtained in theory. The use of natural materials in the school environment, apart from having cheap capital, has a big advantage, namely getting to know the school environment closely. The aim of this service activity is to provide provisions for biology teachers in SMP/SMA. Community Service will be held on July 15 2023. Participants will be SMP/SMA of the biology teachers in the MGMP area of Keerom Regency. The activity method uses lecture, discussion and simulation methods in practice. The results of the activity showed that the activity participants were very enthusiastic and able to utilize natural materials in the school environment in biology practicum activities.
