Abstract

In the era of information technology vehicle numbers identification needs to be done by system automatically. Therefore, the accuracy of the data is well documented and work porses identification can be done quickly. Motor vehicle license recognition is a recognition system by comparing character feature in license plate with reference feature which exists in database. This system uses chain code method and template matching to extract character feature in license plate’s image. Feature extraction with chain code method will result in an array of direction codes which stored in dynamic array, which stored in dynamic array. In this application test feature will be matched with feature stored in database using dynamic time warping method (DTW) to obtain a distance value between test feature and reference feature, the smaller the distance obtained shows that both the features are more similar. The result of this system is the recognition of each character in license plate’s image. In this study, samples of license plate’s images are tested with the number of research objects. From the study feature extraction is obtained with template matching method provides better success rate compared to feature extraction with chain code method, where the success rate of feature extraction with template matching method is at 78% whereas feature extraction with chain code method is at 68%.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v4i2.5169

Abstract

In the making process of Balinese gamelan, the tone arrangement highly depends on aligner sense and feeling which generally performed by the gamelan’s craftsman himself. Each aligner has his way of aligning with different standard of tone. Tunings process is still based on the sensitivity of the ear and the feelings of the gamelan craftsmen so that the precision of tone can not be achieved. The unavailable of a standard measuring instruments tone used in the tuning process lead to the production process gamelan in Bali takes a long time. To solve these problems, a study conducted by utilizing information technology in the computer - software engineering approach.Besides, to anticipate the limitation of human resources in the field of alignment and to maintain the consistency of the gamelan’s tone in the long period of time it is in need for the touch of information technology in the form of software. The software to analyze the frequency of gamelan’s base tone in order to get the result of the tone in the strip of gamelan which is measurable and in accordance with the expectation. The software is intended will be able to perform the test tone as desired by the buyer. Thus the tone of the achievements obtained quickly, accurately correspond to the reference tone. It also means that the program contributed significantly to the preservation of Balinese culture can be done.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v3i1.1481

Abstract

Sales order documents at retail companies are a very important procedure in the project or work initialization process. However, the management of the sales order which is still done manually creates several problems in the process. This research will try to offer a solution by building a sales order management system that is developed by applying the Rational Unified Process (RUP) method. 4 stages in the RUP must be carried out, namely: the initial stage, the elaboration stage, the construction stage, and the transition stage. To reduce the risk of changes desired by the user, testing is carried out at the end of each phase. The results of this study have succeeded in building an SO management system where each feature designed is successfully implemented, which is indicated by the results of measuring the functional suitability of the system at each stage getting a value of 1.

Abstract

Nowadays notebook is not a luxurious thing any more, but has been one of  the things that should be obligatorily owned by high school student, university student, and practitioners. The competition among the notebooks has been getting tight. The reason is that they have been produced with almost similar attributes, qualities, and design but different prices. This study aims at (1) identifying the similarity between the notebook produced by Hewlett Packard (hp) and those produced by its competitors such as, IBM, Sony, Acer and Toshiba, (2) identifying the consumers perception of the notebook produced by Hewlett Packard (hp) and of those produced by its competitors, (3) identifying what is the superiority of the notebook produced by Hewlett Packard (hp) compared with the superiority of those produced by its competitors, and (4) identifying what strategy is relevant in strengthening the positioning of the notebook produced by Hewlett Packard (hp). The samples were determined by purposive sampling, and the respondents employed totaled 100 spreading over Denpasar City. To achieve maximum result, Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) was applied as the instrument of analysis to identify the similarity among the notebooks and Correspondence Analysis (CA) was employed as the instrument of analysis to identify the superiority of each variable of every notebook. The result of the study show that the notebook produced by Hewlett Packard (hp) is perceived to resemble those produced by IBM, Sony, and Toshiba. This means that the notebook produced by Hewlett Packard (hp) competes against those produced by IBM, Sony, and Toshiba, and that it does not compete against that produced by Acer. The notebook produced by Hewlett Packard (hp) is superior in the variables of product varieties, post sales, distribution channels, and promotion. The notebook produced by IBM superior in the variable product quality, while that produced by Sony is superior in the variable of product  design, that produced by Toshiba is superior in the variable of  brand image, and that produced by Acer is superior in the variable of price. Abstract

Epworth sleepiness scale is a self-assessment method in sleep medicine that has been proven to be a good predictor of obstructive sleep apnea. However, the over-reliance of the method making the process not socially distancing friendly enough in response to a global covid-19 pandemic. A study states that the Epworth sleepiness scale is correlated with the brainwave signal that commercial-grade EEG can capture. This study tried to train a classifier powered by CNN and deep learning that could perform as well as the Epworth with the objectiveness of brainwave signal. We test the classifier using the 20 university student using the Epworth sleepiness test beforehand. Then, we put the participant in 10 minutes EEG session, downsampling the data for normalization purposes and trying to predict the outcome of the ESS in respect of their brainwave state. The AI predict the reaching 65% of accuracy and 81% of sensitivity with just under 100.000 dataset which is excellent considering small dataset although this still have plenty room for improvement.
