Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan teks anekdot berdasarkan struktur narasi sebagai bahan ajar pada siswa kelas X MAN Pematangsiantar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R&D. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MAN Pematangsiantar. Langkah-langkah yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah merekontruksi teks anekdot menjadi karangan narasi sesuai dengan struktur, menyeleksi karangan narasi berdasarkan struktur narasi karya siswa, merevisi beberapa karangan narasi menjadi antologi narasi, dan validasi para ahli. Berdasarkan uji keefektifan materi, bahan ajar efektif 88,9% dengan kategori sangat baik. Dari beberapa hasil karangan narasi karya siswa, peneliti mengambil sampel untuk dijadikan sebuah antologi sebagai bahan ajar siswa. Dari hasil para ahli, kelayakan isi dapat mendapatkan persentase sebesar 82,5% dengan kategori sangat baik, penyajian pembelajaran mendapatkan persentase sebesar 90% dengan kategori sangat baik, dan kebahasaan pembelajaran mendapatkan persentase 80% dengan kategori baik. Dari hasil validasi tersebut antologi pengembangan teks anekdot menjadi karangan narasi dapat dikatakan layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar.Kata kunci: pengembangan, anekdot, narasi, antologi ABSTRACTThe objective of the research was to determine the development of anecdote text based on the narrative structure as teaching material on grade X MAN Pematangsiantar. This research applied R&D method. The subject chosen was grade X MAN Pematangsiantar. There were some stages carried out, namely; reconstructing anecdote text to narrative essay in accordance with the structure, selecting narrative essays based on the narrative structure in students' work, revising some narrative essays to be narrative anthologies, and validating by experts. Based on the effectiveness of the material test, it showed that effectiveness was 88.9% with very good category. Then, from students' written narrative work, the researcher selected samples to be used as a students anthologies and used as students teaching materials. From experts validation, the worthiness of validity was 82,5% with a very good category, presentation of learning reached 90% with a very good category, and language learning gets a percentage of 80% with a good category. Based on the validation, the development of anecdote text as a narrative text can be used as teaching material.Keywords: development, anecdote, narrative, anthology

Abstract

Bahasa Figuratif dalam Novel Supernova Karya Dewi Lestari: Pendekatan Stilistika ini merupakan analisis penggunaan bahasa di dalam novel tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat aspek kebahasaan dalam karya sastra. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan pemilihan dan penggunaan gaya bahasa figuratif yang meliputi idiom, metafora, simile, personifikasi, dan hiperbola, yang terdapat dalam novel Supernova. Data penelitian ini berupa kata, frasa dan kalimat yang diambil dari dua seri novel Supernova yaitu Kesatria Putri dan Bintang Jatuh dan Intelegensi Embun Pagi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik pustaka, simak dan catat. Teknik analisis data yaitu dengan analisis mengalir yang terjadi secara bersamaan, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Selanjutnya penelitian ini menggunakan metode distribusional yang dijabarkan lewat teknik substitusi dan teknik pelesapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gaya bahasa figuratif yang unik menimbulkan efek estetis pada pembaca yaitu penggunaan idiom, metafora, simile, personifikasi dan hiperbola. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Dewi Lestari sebagai penulis mampu menunjukkan pemanfaatan bahasa yang spesifik dan lain dari yang lain dalam menciptakan karya sastra. Hal tesebut menghasilkan style tersendiri yang menjadi ciri khusus Dewi Lestari dalam menuangkan gagasannya melalui novel Supernova.

Abstract

The Angkola oral tradition of mangupa is as household advice by appealing to Allah SWT. This tradition is trusted by indigenous communities to restore the spirit to the body (paulak tondi tu badan). As the object of study is the performance analysis by using Duranti theory (2001: 14) with a view of a) performance, b) indexcality, and c) participation and theory of the performance. Finnegan (1991, 1992: 92-93) states that there are 3 elements such as: a) composition, a form that is composed, b) transmission, the selection process that will continue the oral tradition, and (3) the audience. The methods used are surveys, interviews with key informants, primary data source at the ceremony and secondary data by collecting field data, analyzing data. The result of the analysis of traditional Angkola data is divided into four components: a) Ceremonial place, b) Ceremonial time c) Traditional tools, d) Traditional leaders and participants. The transmission of customary philosophy: sangap, hamomora. and hamoraon. The audiences are all who attended the Angkola traditional wedding ceremony in the tradition of mangupa. The advice on mangupa consists of: 1) mangupa text using the name of Allah SWT, 2) mangupa texts of prayer and hope, 3) mangupa text of hope, and 4) mangupa text with philosophical Angkola custom.

Abstract

The research aims to implement the theory of Counterhegemonic discourse with two points of discussion:  the Dutch Colonial’s Social Exclusivism and Reintroducing Indonesian Cultural Identity in Mabuk, a lyric poem written by Tengku Amir Hamzah during the Dutch colonialization of Indonesia (Dutch East Indies). The poem consists of both traditional Malay rhyming scheme and modern Indonesian language structure that embody Tengku Amir Hamzah’s emotional response, as well as his romantic expressions towards the state of a drunken person in metaphorical nuance with the points of inciting nationalism. The study was conducted by means of descriptive qualitative method utilizing critical discourse analysis (CDA) method with the support of deconstruction theory and phenomenological approach. The result shows that Mabuk is a Counterhegemonic poem revealing the standing of the Dutch during the colonialization era and the fading of cultural identity which is to be restored in order to get harmony in national existence.

Abstract

This study describes the use of stylistics in the novel Negeri Para Bedebah by Tere Liye. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data collection method used in this study is the documentation method using an interactive model that applies four stages, including: data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and reviewing. The selected data are data that can be analyzed based on figure of speech, the use of diction, and morphological aspects. The results of this study are to describe the data relating to: (1) the use of language style based on figure of speech and its function, namely: 1) repetition; 2) comparative language style; 3) contradictory language style; 4) linking language style; (2) The use of language style based on the use of diction and its function; (3) The use of language style based on morphological aspects and their function, which consists of affixation, reduplication, and compounding.

Abstract

This study purpose is to finding the sign based on theory pioneered by Charles Sanders Peirce. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The method of this study based on the theory of Creswell, that consist of five steps; (1) collected the data; (2) categorize the data; (3) coding the data; (4) the chronological of the data; (5) analyzing the data. The source of the data is Avengers’ Movie Infinity War and End Game that taken from YouTube channel of Marvel Entertainment that downloaded by savefromnet.com. The data is collected by document analysis. The data is the screenshot of the scene in the trailer. This research consists of visual and verbal data which used semiotic icon, index and symbol. In fiction movie, visual data is generally found. The finding of the research is (25) data. Visual data consists of (20) and verbal data consist of (5). One data consist of several semiotic sign. Icon is consisting of (12), Index is consisting of (3), and symbol is consisting of (9). Icon is the dominant element both the trailers. Fiction movie is not interesting without visual effect. But in this case movie trailer also supported by something real, such as the properties and setting for the good quality of the movie.

Abstract

This study discusses the experiential function in Jokowi’s speeches. The experiential function deals with the processes found in the speeches. There are six processes in the experiential function such as material, mental, verbal, behavioural, relational, and existential process. The study is aimed to identify the processes and find out the dominant process in the speeches.  The speeches consist of 325 clauses, and the dominant process is material process with 124 clauses or 38,15%, followed by relational process with 79 process or 24,3%, mental process with 51 clauses or 15,7%, existential process 33 clauses or 10,1%, behavioural process 20 clauses or 6,1%, and the least is verbal process 18 clauses or 5,5%. It shows that Jokowi’s speeches are the reflection of his slogan; ‘work, work, and work’.  Jokowi has done a lot of work and he explained it in his speeches.

Abstract

Tradisi Angkola pengucapan mangupa adalah sebagai saran rumah tangga dengan memohon kepada Allah SWT. Tradisi ini dipercaya oleh masyarakat adat untuk mengembalikan semangat pada diri/ tubuh (paulak tondi tu badan). Objek penelitian adalah analisis kinerja dengan menggunakan teori Duranti (2001: 14) dengan pendekatan asfek 1) kinerja, 2) indexcality, dan 3) partisipasi dan teori kinerja. Finnegan (1991, 1992: 92-93) menyatakan bahwa ada 3 elemen seperti: 1) komposisi, bentuk yang tersusun, 2) transmisi, proses seleksi yang akan melanjutkan tradisi pengucapan, dan 3) para peserta. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei, wawancara dengan informan, sumber data primer pada upacara dan data sekunder dengan mengumpulkan data lapangan, dan menganalisis data. Hasil analisis terhadap tradisi Angkola dapat dibagi menjadi empat komponen: 1) Tempat upacara, 2) Waktu upacara 3) Alat tradisional, 4) Pemimpin adat dan peserta. Transmisi filsafat adat : sangap, hamomora, dan hamoraon. Semua peserta yang hadir mengikuti acara pernikahan dalam tradisi mangupa.  Nasihat tentang mangupa terdiri dari: 1) teks mangupa menggunakan nama Allah SWT, 2) teks mangupa dengan doa dan harapan, 3) teks mangupa harapan, dan 4) teks mangupa dengan filosofis adat Angkola

Abstract

Local wisdom can be used as a medium for introducing culture to increase tourism. The purpose of this research is to describe about the transfer process of the legend of Parsidangan stone in Huta Siallagan, Samosir Regency in literary tourism perspective. The structure of the story then describes the local wisdom of the Parsidangan stone legend. Tourists' perceptions of the legend is very important to develop the potential of the locality, especially in tourism development. This qualitative research uses a descriptive inferential technique with a literary tourism perspective. Data were collected by observation and interview methods. The results show that there is a transfer of the Parsidangan stone legend from oral (spoken) to written (script) and animated films, which describe the structure of the story such as the theme of the Parsidangan stone folklore, namely the rocking chair as a meeting place and trial of King Siallagan. It is said that the Batak tribe has a tradition of keeping everything that will be done together, such as traditional parties, village parties, weddings, and funerals. The main character in this legend is King Siallagan. The background in this research is parsidangan stone, execution stone, fields, lakes. The plot in this legend is a mixed plot. The forms of local wisdom in the Parsidangan stone legend are hard work, justice, courtesy, commitment, discipline, and preservation.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to find the types of signs, to identify denotation, connotation, and myth, and to analyze the underlying social messages in the safety ride advertisement on the #cari_aman safety riding video. The research data used verbal and visual data sourced from youtube platform tagged #cari_aman which is safety riding campaign advertisement of the motorcycle manufacture named Honda. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method by adopting an interactive model and qualitative data analysis procedure proposed by Miles and Huberman. The data analysis used the theory of sign perspective in semiotics by Pierce and semiotic perspective by Barthes. The results show that the types of signs in semiotics which are used in the data are icon (63%) which is the most dominant one, index (22%) and symbol (13%). The denotation is manifested by interpreting the situation in the research data with subjective feelings or emotions and the meaning of myth is manifested by conceptualizing or understanding the research data into the culture that develops in society. The research finds that the underlying social meaning is delivered by containing the events close to young people’s daily life using kinesic meaning through body movement; proxemics meaning through adjusting distance and space; artifactual meaning through body image; and paralinguistic through pronunciation way of verbal message.
