Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to obtain an optimal facility layout by considering the distance between the workstations, transfer time, and material handling cost in a bakery. The research was conducted at a medium-scale bread producer CV Mumtaz Bakery in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan. The initial layout of CV Mumtaz Bakery's production facilities is considered as not optimal for production capacity up to 500 kg per day. The layout analysis and the appearance of improvement alternatives were carried out using the BLOCPLAN algorithm, and then the design implementation was carried out using CorelDraw software. Determination of the best layout alternative is based on the highest R-Score. The results showed that the best layout was the one with an R-Score of 0.86. This selected workstation layout has a total distance between processing stations of 31.70 m, a total transfer time of 25 seconds, and a material handling cost of IDR 434.29 for each batch. This layout will reduce the total material transfer distance and the material transfer time from the initial layout by 14.67% and 10.7% respectively.Keywords: BLOCPLAN, bread production, facilities layout, material handling cost AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh alternatif tata letak fasilitas yang lebih optimal dengan mempertimbangkan jarak antar proses produksi, waktu perpindahan, serta biaya penanganan bahan pada sebuah bakery. Penelitian dilakukan di CV Mumtaz Bakery yang merupakan produsen roti skala menengah di Kota Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan. Tata letak fasilitas produksi CV Mumtaz Bakery dinilai masih belum optimal untuk kapasitas produksi hingga 500 kg per hari. Analisis tata letak dan penentuan alternatif perbaikan dilakukan menggunakan algoritma BLOCPLAN kemudian implementasi desain dilakukan dengan software CorelDraw. Penentuan alternatif tata letak terbaik berdasarkan pada R-Score tertinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tata letak terbaik adalah alternatif dengan R-Score sebesar 0,86. Tata letak fasilitas yang terpilih tersebut mempunyai total jarak antar fasilitas produksi sebesar 31,70 m, total waktu perpindahan 25 detik, dan biaya penanganan bahan Rp434,29 untuk setiap batch. Penerapan tata letak ini akan menurunkan total jarak perpindahan material dan waktu perpindahan bahan dari tata letak awal secara berturut-turut sebesar 14,67% dan 10,7%.Kata kunci: BLOCPLAN, biaya penanganan bahan, produksi roti, tata letak fasilitas

Abstract

Changes are very fast and full of uncertainty, such as the current condition of COVID-19, which makes it very difficult for supply chain managers even though they already have a very good regularity. Changes in consumer preferences are very fast and even difficult to predict. The purpose of research and development was to identify the factors that influence the performance and competitiveness of the creative industry for innovation. It needed to be informed that the development strategy was not only providing information, availability of goods, money, and innovation, but there were pluses in terms of developing knowledge, knowing the strength map, implementing efficiency accompanied by value. Analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) was used in determining alternative strategies, while the analysis focus strategy used the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) method by considering the Total Attractiveness Scores obtained. For this reason, the potential and challenges in a series of processes (transformation activities and transaction activities) of a product must be carefully scrutinized, so that added value can be created at each stage. The results of the SWOT analysis resulted in five alternative strategies, which were then followed by a QSPM analysis to obtain the total attractiveness scores. The results of the analysis gave the highest total value on the importance of potential resource availability with a value of 15.862 followed by the second to fifth order, the need to understand rapid market changes (14.840), build partnerships (14.646), standardized and sustainable products (14.123) and develop efficiency principles for competitiveness (12.288), respectively. Recommendations are given that resource potential and rapid response to market demands in addition to the other three factors should be considered in the development strategy for innovation in creative industries. Abstract

Through Making Indonesia 4.0, The Ministry of Industry responds to the demands of energy needs byinnovative renewable energy development to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels such as petroleum, naturalgas and coal with agricultural biomass waste sources. The aim of this research was to synergize waste from thebiodiesel industry in the form of sterol glycosides with purun waste from creative small-scale enterprises (SMEs)to produce renewable energy as a circular economy. The method applied was in the form of descriptive analysis, followed by identifying and characterizing waste found in the biodiesel industry, as well as various purunwastes, which were collectively sampled every day for 3 months, becoming the basis for developing innovativeproducts. Interviews were conducted on 60 purun craftsmen to confirm the circular economy program beingstudied. Observations were also made in the biodiesel industry and purun craftsmen. Data processing wasobtained from the results of experiments by making briquette products referring to several parameters whichwere the basis for standardizing renewable energy products. The synergy between the two actors, namely theBiodiesel Industry and SMEs in micro-scale circular economy activities, produced environmentally friendly- renewable energy which was very helpful for purun micro and small businesses in Purun Village, Banjarbaru,South Kalimantan. Renewable energy results were from various formulas developed with the main ingredientsderived from purun biomass charcoal and biodiesel industrial waste. The advantage of the product when severalother variables met the SNI standard 01-6235-2000 had a calorific value of 5.809 cal g-1 - 6.598 cal g-1, where5.000 cal g-1 which was the SNI for briquette heat could be exceeded. The calorific value produced is equivalentto bituminous grade coal having a carbon content of above 85%.Keywords: briquettes, calor, purun, sterol glycosides, SMEs

Abstract

Degenerative diseases have been reported as the main causes of mortality number in Indonesia. An unhealthy lifestyle, including lack of exercise combined with low of fiber and antioxidants diet, is believed as the main triggering factor. Functional foods which offer several benefits, including its built-in nutrition, the pharmacological effects, as well as the practical uses, is considered as one of the effective solutions to supply the antioxidant deficiency. Euphorbia hirta is an herbaceous plant that has been reported to have several important pharmacological activities, including in the prevention of some degenerative diseases through its antioxidative capacity. A type of functional food enriched with antioxidant has been formulated from the leaves of E. hirta and black tea (Camellia sinensis); however, the feasibility analysis of its processing industry has not been carried out. This study was aimed to analyze the marketing, technical, management, and financial feasibility of establishment of functional food industry of E. hirta herb combined with black tea. The feasibility was analyzed by considering the marketing aspects, technical aspects (process technology and plant layout), management aspects, and financial aspects as measured by the NPV, Net B/C, IRR, PBP, and BEP values. The financial analysis showed that the NPV was Rp81,520,549.00 with 1.30 of Net B/C, 27.64% of IRR, and 2.6 years of PBP. Based on the results, the planned industry is declared to be feasible especially in the aspects of marketing, technic, management, and financial.

Abstract

In recent years, the development of renewable energy such as biodiesel has been widely researched throughout the world as technology advances in the era of Industry 4.0. At the final station of biodiesel production in the maturation tank, the by-products will form by-products in the form of sterol glycosides in Fatty Acid Methyl Esters which have not been utilized. This study aims to determine the volume of biodiesel from a mixture of sterol glycosides with a ratio of 0.5% H2SO4 catalyst concentration; 1%; 1.5% and 2% and tested their characteristics in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 7182: 2015). Biodiesel production was carried out by esterification with a molar ratio of 1:6 (sterol glycoside: methanol) to variations in H2SO4 catalyst concentration. The results of the highest yield volume biodiesel were obtained from a catalyst concentration of 1.5% of 28.02% and the lowest yield of 17.50% in a 0.5% catalyst. Based on the characteristic test of biodiesel by varying the concentration of catalyst H2SO4 obtained density of 852 – 862 kg m-3, viscosity of 4.642 – 4.950 mm2 s-1 and saponification number of 191.007 – 198.164 mg-KOH g-1 according to standard characteristics SNI 7182:2015, while for the water content of 0.1965 – 0.1976% and acid numbers of 2.151 – 3.232 mg-KOH g-1 isn’t according to standard characteristics. Based on research, pre-treatment treatments was recommended before the refining process to reduce the amount of acid and moisture content so according to standard characteristics.

Abstract

Some research and development results that have been funded, the largest portion is Technology Readiness Level of 3-5. Very few researchers entered in 6,7, or 8 levels. In effort to bridge the results of research and implementation in society, the technology transfer program needs a strategy to strengthen human resources in the creative industry, especially purun crafts. The application of the Analytic Network Process method in selecting strategies was based on weighting of each criterion and alternative. The results of analysis gave priority weights for product performance and market performance sub-criteria which affect the choice of strategy, namely motive and product type sub-criteria of 0.48715, while customer satisfaction was 0.42224. In the alternative cluster, there were two strategies that became the best priority, namely development of creative products of 0.44857 and strengthening of purun handicraft brands in the Galoeh Bandjar and Al-Firdaus groups of 0.28947. Strategies to strengthen human resources in terms of creative product development and brand strengthening were done through education, training, and coaching based on the principles of Competitive Advantage.

Abstract

As a continuation of “Go organic 2010”, Government through Ministry of Agriculture of The Republic of Indonesia has target “1,000 Agriculture Organic Villages” (Directorate General of TP of Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, 2015). Needs of healthy food is increased along with awareness of the Public and development of healthy life style trend is growing at this moment, so that development of the organic rice agriculture becomes very strategic. Opportunity of organic rice agriculture starts being concerned by farmers in the regency of Hulu Sungai Selatan, the local government has attempted supports through the programs and activities. Organic rice agriculture in the Hulu Sungai Selatan regency has still not yet developed widely, thus, it is required appropriate development strategy with condition and state of the farmers in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. Research objectives 1) Analyzing Perceived Value (NP) from the economic, technical and social perception of the community towards the application of the organic rice agricultural system. 2) Identifying and analyzing internal and external faktors that influence in the development of the organic rice agricultural system in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. 3) Formulating strategy of organic rice agricultural system in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. This study was held on March 2022 in the Gambah Dalam Barat Village in Regency of Hulu Sungai Selatan, South Kalimantan Province.  There were 44 research samples which consisted of 37 farmers and 7 key persons (key informants) and also consisted of formal and informal figures. To analyze the value of perception, Likert scale was used. The identification of internal and internal faktors also used IFAS matrix, EFAS matrix and IE matrix. SWOT matrix was also used to get alternative development strategy and QSPM matrix was used to determine focus strategy in the development of organic rice agricultural system in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. Study results show that the perception value of the farmers which was seen from economical perception is on high category (77.92 %), technical perception is on very high category (81.24%) and social perception is (83.71%) on very high category. It shows that awareness and understanding about organic rice agriculture is already very good (positive). IFAS value is 2.755 and EFAS is 3.242. Strength faktor is (1.766) which is more dominant of the weakness faktor (0.989) and the opportunity faktor (2.269) is bigger than threat (0.973). Based on IE matrix, condition of organic rice agricultural system in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency is located on cell II, possible strategies to be conducted is growing and building strategy which utilize external faktors (using opportunity and facing threat) to overcoming internal faktors (maximizing strength and minimizing weakness) that is enhancing production, developing products, penetrating market, developing market, integrating vertical and horizontal integration. On SWOT matrix is obtained nine alternative strategies and through QSPM matrix has been determined focus strategies include: increasing activity of counseling and accompaniment by officers in the field with value of 16,83869. This strategy is very suitabel because to develop organic rice agriculture, farmers must be always accompanied and helped to apply the system. Value of economical, technical and social perception about organic rice agriculture as adoption initial stage of organic rice agriculture is already very good, some are already on try-out step and next evaluation is just how they can apply and survive in organic rice agricultural system so that the system can develop and development objectives can be achieved.

Abstract

Kampung Purun, Palam, Banjarbaru is well-known as the development of creative industries making purun woven products. The products are in the form of various bags, hats, mats and tissue boxes as well as many other various products. The resulting product has a variety of colors, but in the coloring process the craftsmen still use chemical dyes which are not environmentally friendly. Besides that, the product design is still not varied. This service aimed at innovating purun products produced by the villagers of Kampung Purun, especially the Galoeh Bandjar group by redesigning and innovating the dyes used, namely using natural dyes to boost the chances of purun products being able to pass the export curation. Natural dyes were produced from a combination of jengkol skin and sappan wood, with various formulations developed based on previous research results. The best formula used was 12 : 1 : 7 consisting of water : cup : jengkol skin. The jengkol skin used was waste from the Jaring culinary production process. Dyes were made by boiling the two ingredients. Furthermore, the production stages by designing, coloring, determining color composition and evaluating product quality were carried out at the Banjarbaru Government Packaging House. The resulting color was brownish red and ready to be applied to purun products. The results of the curation by the Packaging House stated that the innovative purun product was feasible to be marketed from a quality standpoint. The selling price of the product was set at Rp. 46,000, - with a production cost of Rp. 36,621, - per unit. This means that there is an additional value of IDR 10,379.

Abstract

Storing coal for a long duration of time in the stockpile can cause the company to lose money because the possibility of self-ignition is greater. Spraying treatment using hydrosol will wet the coal evenly so that it will coat the coal and can prevent self-ignition. This study was made to analyze changes in coal temperature due to the use of Hydrosol and determine the best Hydrosol concentration to prevent coal self-heating. The operational design of the research was by separating coal products. Then, four concentrations of Hydrosol were made to be applied to coal product by spraying. After spraying each coal product, data  were collected by measuring the temperature every day. The data from the research results showed the temperature increase for each coal product for 20 days of stacking so that it illustrated the effect of each Hydrosol concentration made and get the best concentration for application in the company's coal production pr˚Cess. The use of Hydrosol with four concentrations (0.0%; 0.5%, 1.O%; and 1.5%) with a treatment duration of 20 affected the temperature of the coal pile with a range of 32.4˚C to 55.3˚C where the initial critical temperature for self-heating was 50.7˚C. For this reason, coal with temperatures above 50˚C must be given treatment again such as compaction and spraying The best Hydrosol concentration to prevent self-heating during 20 days of stacking; as l.5o% Hydrosol concentration, which was a mixture of 98.5 liters of water with 1.5 liters of Hydrosol for every 10 tons of coal, which produced the lowest final temperature of all coal stacks, namely 41.3˚C.

Abstract

Kebutuhan dasar bagi masyarakat harus terpenuhi dengan pengeluaran melebihi Rp. 10.739/orang/hari. Kondisi demikian menyatakan bahwa Indonesia pada Tahun 2024 sudah bebas dari kemiskinan ekstrim, akan tetapi kondisi lahan yang dimiliki masyarakat sangat terbatas bahkan tidak ada, terjadi perubahan iklim drastis, lahan marginal yang tidak subur serta harga produk hortikultura yang murah dan mudah rusak. Tujuan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat adalah mendesiminasikan Teknologi Green House Level Medium dalam Pengembangan Komoditas Hortikultura dengan pengembangan produk hortikultura melalui pelatihan dan bimbingan sehingga dapat memasuki pasar modern seperti pasar SNI 8152: 2021 dan pasar pusat perbelanjaan modern lainnya yang berada di Mall. Metode yang dikembangkan di masyarakat dengan pelatihan mendesain green house level medium, melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan teknik budidaya hortikultura dalam green house, pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam membuat formula nutrisi, melakukan kontrol nutrisi saat proses produksi berjalan serta penangan pasca panen hingga dapat masuk pasar modern, serta kuesioner evaluasi kegiatan.  Hasil yang diperoleh dalam dua replika penanaman, Kelompok UMKM Target dapat menyerap transfer teknologi mencapai 88,3%, pemahaman konsep teknologi berkelanjutan mencapai 98%, kemampuan dalam mendesain green house level medium mencapai 99% serta sudah mampu memformula nutrisi, menyemai, menanam, memelihara hingga              panen dan mempersiapkan ke Pasar Moderen. Pelatihan dan pendampingan pada masyarakat demikian merupakan solusi yang ditawarkan pada kondisi ketersediaan lahan minim, perubahan iklim drastis, kondisi tanah marginal serta produk hortikultura organik yang sulit dapat menembus pasar modern.
