Abstract

Abstract: The present was to respond to the students’ low implicit grammar knowledge and, therefore, was concerned with its improvement. The subjects of the study were twenty six students of the first semester accounting students of State Polytechnic of Malang. The strategy used was semantico-syntactic translation practice, which proceeded through three main stages: upgrading their explicit grammar knowledge followed by internalizing the knowledge into explicit grammar knowledge, and testing the result. The result showed that the determined goal was reached in fifteen meetings within one cycle with some extra meetings for oral internalization practice.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of student satisfaction towards the quality of service provided by the Accounting Department, State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema), by comparing the actual service delivered by the institution to the one expected by the students. Respondents as samples were determined proportionally for each study program and class of as many as 100 students. The questionnaire was randomly given to respondents to obtain a response to service quality consisting of 5 (five) dimensions, namely tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. Data analysis was descriptive analysis prosiding from descriping the data in term of the mean and frequency, and than measuring student satisfaction index and ending up with determining the service quality using importance-performance analysis (IPA). The results showed that  most respondents were DIV Management Accounting study program students, of whom the majority were female. The frequency of the students response for the quality of the received service fell into the catagory of very satisfying, which means that, in general, the quality of service received by students was very satisfying. There were found two dimensions in quadrant A where two forms of service quality must be improved immediately, four dimensions in quadrant B where six forms of service quality must be maintained, and all dimensions in quadrant D where eight forms of service quality in the short term may be ignored.

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari dibentuknya Posyandu (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu) di Indonesia adalah sebagai salah satu upaya pembangunan nasional yang tercermin dalam Indeks Pembangunan Manuasia (IPM) yang terdiri dari umur harapan hidup, tingkat melek huruf dan pendapatan per kapita. Posyandu adalah salah satu usaha kesehatan yang bersumberdaya masyarakat (UKBM) yang melibatkan kader yang sudah dipilih dan ditunjuk oleh masyarakat sehingga posyandu bisa dikatakan miliknya masyarakat. Posyandu Lansia Desa Talok dipilih debagai mitra dalam PKM ini karena jumlah lansia di lingkungan posyandu ini cukup tinggi yakni kurang lebih 70 orang dengan tingkat pengetahuan gizi dan kesehatan yang masih perlu ditingkatkan. Sebagian besar para lansia di area ini adalah ibu rumah tangga dengan latar belakang belakang pendidikan SD sampai SMA, namun pengetahuan mereka tentang gizi serta pola makan dan pola hidup yang baik masih minim. Di sisi lain, posyandu ini, sebagaimana posyandu pada umumnya, hanya memfokuskan pada memantau aspek kesehatan fisik lansia dimana tingkat partisipasi lansia masih rendah. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan penyuluhan tentang gizi pada lansia untuk meningkatkan tingkat kesehatan pada lansia. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan cara memberikan penyuluhan singkat tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan pad lansia terutama menjaga tekanan darah, gula darah, kolesterol dan asam urat. Lansia mengalami kemunduran dan keterbatasan maka konsistensi dan tekstur atau bentuk makanan harus disesuaikan. Mengingat kondisi dan permasalahan lanjut usia seperti diuraikan di atas, maka penanganan masalah gizi pada lanjut usia harus menjadi prioritas, karena permasalahannya terus meningkat sesuai dengan pertambahan jumlahnya. Dengan demikian penyuluhan kesehatan gizi pada lansia dan pemeriksaan fisik, penimbangan berat badan, serta pemeriksaan tekanan darah, kolesterol, asam urat dan gula darah pada lansia sangat perlukan, sesuai dengan kebutuhannya dan pada lingkungan yang tepat, sehingga para lansia tidak merasa lagi terabaikan didalam masyarakat.

Abstract

The community service activities are carried out in the Bumi Tunggulwulung Indah (BTWI) housing where all the residents in this housing namely RT 015-RW 001, Tunggulwulung, Lowokwaru, Malang City. There are problems faced by BTWI residents, the main points can be identified as follows: (1) there is a fairly large volume of waste in the BTWI environment, both leaf waste and kitchen waste (2) dry waste disposal (dry twigs and leaves) requires regular costs. The transportation of kitchen waste is sometimes constrained so that it accumulates and causes pollution, and (3) the accumulation and full volume of waste in the Temporary Shelter (TPS) in the Tunggulwulung sub-district. The results of the residents' deliberation agreed to form a partner team to work with the implementing team for community service activities. The purpose of this waste management training is expected to (1) improve the understanding and behavior of residents in processing waste, (2) reduce the amount of waste that must be transported, and (3) increase the economic value of waste into compost and BSF maggot. The methods applied in community service activities are counseling, training and monitoring. The results of the activity showed that the implementation of the extension succeeded in providing understanding and knowledge about waste management to activity partners. The results of the training were able to overcome the waste problem, reduce the cost of transporting waste and change the economic value of waste into compost and maggot as an alternative feed for catfish supplements.

Abstract

This study aimed to implement a Business Meetings Project using a Digital Pocket Presentation Guide to improve EFL students' oral communication. Therefore, the action research design was implemented to match the purpose of the study. The data collection techniques were started by asking students to do a pretest, implement the model, do observations during the activities, distribute a questionnaire and do interviews to see the students' improvement by asking students to do the post-test. The result of the research showed that the student's progress sustainably improved from the first evaluation, which was 48,75, to the second evaluation, which was 53,760 and to the third evaluation, which was 56,25 for the mean. The score continuously improved from the first evaluation to the third evaluation. The results of the research show that the students gave good attitudes and responses during the process of implementing the model. Questionnaire and interview reports show that students agreed on the implemented model as it motivated and improved their self-confidence and capability in oral communication skills. In conclusion, implementing the business meeting projects through a digital pocket presentation guide enhanced students' verbal communication skills.

Abstract

Technology helps a lot on the education field. By implementing technology, it would influence on the atmosphere either on students' motivation or on language itself. Oral communication is an essential skill which could help students' life in the future. The most students’ problem in studying English is expressing ideas. Some experts said that storytelling can be used to improve students' learning to express oral communication. Connecting with this idea, the researches decided the purpose of the study by improving the students’ speaking ability with producing a storytelling created in the form of a video component. The researchers used an Action Research, The students were required to create a cartoon story, voiceover narration, and background music that produced in a video presentation. The object of the research was 30 students of the Accounting Department of 2 nd Semester 2023. The result of the study was significantly improved which could be seen from the mean of the first project which amounted as big as 77,33, while on the second project, the amount was 83,16. The evaluation kept increased in every evaluation. The conclusion stated that the model was successfully implemented. Key words: Improving, Speaking Ability, Storytelling, Video
