Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe learning motivation, mathematical understanding and activities of students' and teachers at Islamic Junior High School (Madrasah Tsanawiyah/MTs) through Active Knowledge Sharing strategy. The research is conducted in MTs. Al-Mukhlisin Bandung Indonesia.  The method of this research is a mixed method with Classroom Action Research (CAR). The instruments used were motivation questionnaires, observation sheets, mathematical understanding tests and observation sheets. The results of the research indicate that learning motivation, mathematical understanding and activities of teachers and students through the Active Knowledge Sharing strategy increase in each cycle. Students' learning motivation is shown from the result of the questionnaire, states that the average percentage of motivation indicator increase in each cycle, those are 70,35% (cycle I), 71,17% (cycle II ) and 72.15% (cycles III), student mathematical understanding indicated from the test results states that the average value increases in each cycle and the end of the cycle has reached the classical completeness, that is 79.41%, the activities of students and teachers during teaching- learning increased in each cycle of 60.95% (cycle I), 73.33% (cycle II) and 86.67% (cycles III).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the symbol sense and structure of mathematical sense in terms of students' ability to solve algebraic problems or other mathematical problems that require symbol expression or structure. Difficulties experienced by students in solving mathematical or algebraic problems may be due to the ability of symbol sense and low structure sense or didactic design that the teacher conveyed is not in accordance with the category of symbols and structure sense that students have. A student with good symbols and structure sense is able to appreciate the power of symbols, knowing when to use the right symbols and being able to manipulate and understand symbols in various contexts. The method used in the study used a qualitative descriptive method. The population of this study was seventh grade students of the Islamic junior high school, the instruments used were symbol and structure sense tests, questionnaires, and interview forms. The results of the study indicate that the ability of symbol sense and student structure sense is still low because of a lack of conceptual knowledge and algebraic manipulation, for this reason it is necessary to have an appropriate learning model to improve both of these abilities.

Abstract

Abstrak:Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membangun karakter mahasiswa melalui nilai-nilai matematika, capaian pembelajaran mata kuliah dan upayanya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui angket, studi literatur, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat nilai-nilai matematika yang dapat membentuk karakter. Nilai-nilai matematika yang ada pada setiap mata kuliah dapat membangun karakter mahasiswa yang meliputi sikap sungguh-sungguh, teliti, jujur, kerja keras, tekun dan yang lainnya. Pendidikan karakter dibutuhkan oleh mahasiswa dan membutuhkan figur teladan dan bimbingan dalam membangun karakter mahasiswa.Abstract:The study aims to build the students’ characters through the values of mathematics, the achievement of learning subjects and efforts. The method used was qualitative method by collecting data through questionnaire, literature study, and interview. The study findings showed that there were mathematical values that were able to build the characters, the study program set the learning outcomes actualized in every subject. The values of every subject could build the students’ characters through the characteristics of the subject consisting of the attitude of earnest, thorough, honest, hard work, diligent and so forth. The character education is urgently needed by the students and requires an exemplary figure and guidance in building the characters of the lecturers.

Abstract

Along with the development of technology, education today must create a quality young generation (students). This quality is not only intellectual, but in terms of the spiritual attitude and skills produced, one of the most needed is problem solving skill. This study aims to determine the effect of implementation physics module integrated with Quran values on problem solving abilities and spiritual attitudes of students in physics learning. The used method in this study is experiment with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 2 class X MIA selected through a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that there was a significant influence of the use of physics module integrated with Quran on the problem solving ability and spiritual attitudes of students in physics learning. The integrated physics module with Qur’an values is able to train problem solving skills that are needed by students in the process of thinking solutions to a problem in real life in physics concept and also able to grow spiritual attitudes as an effort to fulfill the first core competence, namely spiritual competence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa di SMP Triyasa yang masih perlu dikembangkan dan ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (a) gambaran proses pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran induktif Taba dan pembelajaran induktif Sharan-Sharma, (b) kemampuan penalaran matematis, (c) self-regulated learning siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran induktif Taba dan pembelajaran induktif Sharan-Sharma. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas VII D, E, dan F SMP Triyasa Bandung yang menggunakan desain Penelitian KuasiEksperimen pada pokok bahasan Segiempat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh: (a) Gambaran proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran melalui gambaran aktivitas siswa dan aktivitas guru berdasarkan pengamatan observer secara umum terlaksana dengan cukup baik; (b) terdapat perbedaan pencapaian kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa antara yang menggunakan model pembelajaran induktif Taba, pembelajaran induktif Sharan-Sharma dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Perbedaan tersebut terdapat antara model pembelajaran induktif Taba dengan pembelajaran konvensional dan antara pembelajaran induktif Sharan-Sharma dengan pembelajaran konvensional. (c) self-regulated learning siswa yang menggunakan model induktif Taba dan induktif Sharan-Sharma menunjukkan sikap negatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan seberapa besar tingkat pengaruh kemampuan calon guru matematika dalam berkomunikasi dan pengelolaan kelas terhadap hasil dan motivasi belajar siswa serta hubungan antara hasil dengan motivasi belajar matematika siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematika salah satu universitas di kota Bandung yang telah selesai melaksanakan seminar proposal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh kesimpulan :  kemampuan calon guru dalam berkomunikasi memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar dengan tingkat korelasi sangat rendah; kemampuan calon guru matematika dalam berkomunikasi memberikan pengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa, dengan tingkat korelasi rendah; kemampuan calon guru matematika dalam pengelolaan kelas memberikan  pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa dengan tingkat korelasi sangat rendah; kemampuan calon guru matematika dalam pengelolaan kelas memberikan  pengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dengan tingkat korelasi sangat rendah; kemampuan calon guru matematika dalam berkomunikasi dan pengelolaan kelas memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa dengan tingkat korelasi sedang (cukup); kemampuan calon guru matematika dalam berkomunikasi dan pengelolaan kelas memberikan pengaruh terhadap  motivasi belajar siswa dengan tingkat korelasi rendah; tidak terdapat hubungan antara hasil dan motivasi  belajar matematika siswa

Abstract

AbstrakGuru Madrasah Aliah (MA) Persatuan Islam (PERSIS) mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami perhitungan matematika dalam ilmu Falak khususnya terait masalah dalam menentukan arah kiblat, sehingga sangat dibutuhkan suatu program yang dapat membantu pemahaman guru-guru tersebut. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung menyelenggarakan suatu program dengan tujuan mengatasi kesulitan guru-guru dalam memahami konsep-konsep matematika untuk menyelesaikan masalah Ilmu Falak di Madrasah Aliah PERSIS di Jawa Barat. Metode yang digunakan adalah CBR (Community Based Research). Kegiatan PkM ini diikuti oleh 50 orang guru dan melibatkan steakholder yang ada di Pimpinan Pusat (PP) PERSIS. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan PkM dapat meningkatkan pemahaman matematis guru-guru MA PERSIS dalam menyelesaikan masalah terkait Ilmu Falak khususnya menentukan arah kiblat.AbstractTeachers of Madrasah Aliah (MA) PERSIS have difficulty in understanding mathematical calculations in Ilmu Falak, especially related to problems in determining the direction of Qibla, so it is needed a program that can help the understanding of these teachers. The Community Service Program of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung held a program with the aim of overcoming the difficulties of teachers in understanding mathematical concepts to solve the problem of Ilmu Falak in the Islamic School of PERSIS in West Java. The method used is CBR (Community Based Research). This PkM activity was attended by 50 teachers and involved steakholders in the Pimpinan Pusat (PP) PERSIS. Evaluation results show that Program can improve the mathematical understanding of MA PERSIS teachers in solving problems related to Ilmu Falak ,especially in determining the Qibla direction.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the achievement of the ability of students' reflective abstraction in solving Linear Algebra problems and the relationship with prerequisite knowledge. The important of this research because the characteristic of Linear Algebra requiring reflectif abstraction skill that must be support by the prerequisite knowledge. The reflective abstraction abilities studied in this study are level, i.e.1) recognition,2) representation, 3) structural abstraction, and 4) structural awareness. These stages are adjusted to Polya's problem solving stages, namely: understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back. This type of research is descriptive-quantitative. The subjects of this study were students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung Indonesia. Collecting data through tests and interviews, data were analyzed with percentage and the pearson product-moment correlation.The results showed that the achievement level  consisiting of ) recognition,2) representation, 3) structural abstraction, and 4) structural awareness of the students’ reflective abstraction abilities on linear algebra problem solving are very good, this can be seen from the percentage achieved at stages of the recognition,the representation,the structural abstraction, and the structural awareness which is associated with Polya problem solving measures above an average of 73,31% (moderat category); there are relationship between students' reflective abstraction abilities and their prerequisite knowledge; and prerequisite knowledge influences the students’reflective abstraction abilities

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of problem-solving skills using problem-based digital learning module. The research method used is quasi-experiment design with non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used is the purposive sampling of 60 subjects with 30 for the experimental class and 30 for the control class. The research result indicates the learning process both classes runs well. It is proven by the significance of the hypothesis test result which is less than α (0,005) 0,05). It can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means that there are differences in students’ problem-solving skills in the experiment class and control class. This proves the treatment in the experimental class using problem-based digital learning module integrated with religious values can influence students' problem-solving skills better than the PowerPoint learning media used in the control class.
