Abstract

Satu aspek penting yang harus ada pada sistem pendidikan modern yaitu penanaman karakteristik kewirausahaan pada peserta didik, sebab lulusan pendidikan modern harus mengacu pada tuntutan kemampuan abad 21 yaitu 4Cs yang merupakan bagian dari karakteristik kewirausahaan, disamping keharusan lain yaitu lulusan juga memiliki kompetensi sesuai dengan bidangnya. Karakteristik kewirausahaan merupakan unsur ideal yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap bangsa, agar bangsa dapat maju membangun kualitas sumber dayanya. Kenyataannya, kurikulum pendidikan kejuruan yang notabene berorientasi kerja dan menciptakan lapangan kerja dihadapkan pada permasalahan dalam implementasinya, bahkan lulusan pendidikan kejuruan mengisi angka pengangguran tertinggi beberapa tahun terakhir. Oleh sebab itu penelitian ini menjadi sangat penting, khususnya mengungkap komposisi pembelajaran kewirausahaan pada kurikulum pendidikan kejuruan. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan pada satu dari empat program studi di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Padang yang sedang mempersiapkan akreditasi internasional ASIIN tahun 2021. Objek penelitian adalah dokumen SAR Akreditasi ASIIN dan website program studi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi pembelajaran kewirausahaan sangat rendah/sedikit pada kurikulum pendidikan kejuruan. Namun beberapa mata kuliah telah memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk mengembangkan kreatifitas dan melakukan pembelajaran kelompok untuk meningkatkan aktifitas belajar, berfikir kritis, dan mengarahkan peserta didik mengerjakan tugas berbasis produk.

Abstract

Pendidikan modern harus mengarah pada tuntutan kemampuan abad 21 yaitu lulusan yang berfikir kritis, komunikatif, kolaboratif, dan kreatif. Keempat tuntutan ini merupakan karakteristik kewirausahaan. Telah banyak penelitian pendidikan yang meneliti ini, khususnya implementasi model pembelajaran yang berdampak pada karakteristik kewirausahaan. Salah satunya model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL), namun belum menganalisisnya menjadi titik berpijak dan menjadikan sebagai suatu model yang tepat untuk karakteristik kewirausahaan karena variabel penelitian yang terpisah dan tidak terintegrasi. Penelitian studi literatur ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan arah dari hasil penelitian PjBL agar ditemukan titik pijak untuk merealisasikan tindaklanjut penelitian pendidikan yang menciptakan karakteristik kewirausahaan. Penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif ini diawali dengan merangkum hasil penelitian model pembelajaran PjBL yang berkaitan dengan kewirausahaan di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa telah banyak penelitian implementasi PjBL yang berdampak pada hasil dan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran serta pembentukan karakteristik kewirausahaan. Model PjBL sangat tepat digunakan untuk pembelajaran yang mengarahkan peserta didik agar memiliki karakteristik kewirausahaan seperti meningkatkan minat belajar, minat berwirausaha, sifat-sifat pengusaha, pemahaman dan hasil belajar, pemahaman kewirausahaan, kemampuan kepemimpinan, keberanian mengambil resiko, kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah, berfikir kritis, kreatif, komunikasi, meningkatkan keaktifan, percaya diri, dan meningkatkan semangat.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic presents new challenges to education, especially vocational education. Learning activities could not be done face-to-face, but online learning is an alternative. The regulations governing online learning are of common concern because in vocational education there is not only theoretical learning but also practical learning. This pandemic creates new challenges for the competence of vocational education teachers specifically to be able to use technology to support the implementation of online learning. This research was conducted on vocational education teachers in West Sumatra - Indonesia, examining their competence and use of technology during the pandemic. Samples were taken from six cities; Padang, Bukittinggi, Tanah Datar, Payakumbuh, Agam, and Pariaman. This result shows that teachers always try to improve their competencies during the pandemic by training their self to use information technology in online learning, but it is not easy for them. Teachers still master pedagogical competence, personality competence, professional competence, and social competence. Teachers are more dominant in using computers and smartphones and using WhatsApp and YouTube applications to support the implementation of learning during the pandemic. Teachers must continue to adapt and innovate in online learning using hardware technology as well as the use of offline and online software applications.

Abstract

The low percentage of 2017 PPT 3T SMT graduates (41.26%) in the National Examination and there are several study programs that did not pass (0%) causing this program to be evaluated. Based on the existing problems, this program must be comprehensively evaluated using the context, input, process & product (CIPP) model. In addition, capability evaluation is an absolute capability that must be possessed by humans in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. This evaluation study ("primary data" quantitatively and qualitative "secondary data") was carried out in the Department of Civil Engineering (Building Tehcnique Education/PTB), Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University (conducting lecturer interviews), online questionnaire (for PPG SM-3T participants), and SMK N 1 and SMK N 5 in Padang City (interviewing teachers involved in the program). The program has been implemented in accordance with its context and has been in accordance with the inputs specified in the program implementation guidelines. but there are problems in the process of implementing the program (79.51%), which has the lowest value. The reason is that the low value of the evaluation process is the different materials tested with those taught during the program, lack of socialization and communication, and discipline. However, product evaluation states that this program has been carried out as evidenced by the results of the categories of both people who have the competencies needed to become professional teachers (pedagogical, professional, personality, and social competencies) according to the program objectives through lecturers and teachers. So it can be concluded that the PPG SM-3T program is worthy of continuing with improvements in the program implementation process.

Abstract

Various learning models have been developed and implemented in vocational education in the engineering field, but still have weaknesses, especially in basic matters such as one-sided learning and lack of direct industrial involvement. Moreover, learning in educational institutions is not supported by facilities that match those in the industry, but only simulation tools. Additionally, the media used in educational institutions is not as sophisticated as that used in the industry. This study is a literature review on Work-based Learning (WBL) and the formulation of WBL concepts suitable for vocational education in the engineering field. The results of the literature review showed that the implementation of WBL in various developing and advanced countries is very effective in developing students' competencies. Educational institutions and industries work together to improve the quality of learning to produce job-ready graduates. Industries benefit from the availability of competent and professional workforce who can develop their business for global competition. There are three WBL model concepts that can be applied to vocational education in the engineering field, including integrated student work, teaching factory, and industrial internship. The formation of student competencies can be carried out through a structured program, where students will gain experience and opportunities to gradually sharpen their competencies.
