Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media that can be used by natural science teachers in SD Negeri 050778 by referring to RND-based media development methods (Research and Development) which will later use descriptive analysis methods and development methods. In making Blended Learning media where this media is in the form of learning videos using the Camtasia and Wondershare Quiz Creator application contains recorded video clips and questions about how to sample species, species diversity, and species collection techniques from Phylum Arthropods at SD Negeri 050778 Kampai Langkat Island, North Sumatra. The purpose of this research is descriptive analysis which is to obtain data on the diversity of the Artrhopoda Phylum from the Crustacean class which is very numerous and easily found around the coast of the island of Kampai. Crustacean diversity data obtained were analyzed using species abundance analysis method. Then the learning video development data will then be tested on students and science teachers as a test sample. From the field results found 8 dominant species of the Decapoda Order, including the Mangrove Crab (Scylla serrate), tiger shrimp (Panaeus monodon), Lobster Shrimp (Panulirus sp.), Ghost Crab (Ocypode kuhlii), Crab Uca Viola (Uca vocans) , Uca Petarung Crab (Uca annulipes), Centipede Shrimp (Squilla mantis), Klomang (Bernhardus Pagurus). From the three stations where Crustacea species sampling locations were obtained a diversity index of 0.85% at Station 1 with Species dominance, namely Centipede Shrimp, then 1.76% at Station II with Species dominance, namely Klomang (Pagurus bernhardus), and 0 , 43% with species dominance, namely Shrimp Prawn (Panaeus monodoni). From the analysis calculations of 30 students the results of a large group trial for development data are: (a) a group of 30 students an average of 97.85% (very decent), (2) Science Teacher Test Data of 87% (feasible category).

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) recognize fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster), 2) morphologically distinguish adult fruit fly sex, 3) study the growth of fruit fly populations. The practicum was held on August 20, 2019 in the Biology Education Laboratory FKIP UISU. The working principle of practicum is making food as a medium for fruit fly culture (a mixture of bananas, cassava tape, benzoate), etherization and observation, observing the growth of fruit fly populations. Observations were made by counting the number of live flies and dead flies, the sex ratio of flies. Observations were carried out every day, for 15 days (20 August 2019 - 3 September 2019). The results of the analysis show that: 1) population growth of Drosophila melanogaster includes logistic growth models with S-shaped curves, 2) sex of adult fruit flies can be morphologically distinguished through body size, abdominal shape, genital comb and external genital organs in the abdomen. Based on the results and discussion, the following conclusions are obtained: 1) fruit flies including insects undergoing perfect metamorphosis (egg phase, larvae, pupa, imago), 2) differences in adult fruit fly sex can be seen from body size, abdomen shape, presence of genital comb, external genital organs in the abdomen, 3) population growth of fruit flies including logistic growth models in the form of S curves, influenced by environmental factors

Abstract

Indonesia's coastal areas have a large area and potential for mangrove ecosystems. Of the approximately 15,900 million ha of mangrove forests in the world. 27% or 4,293 million ha are in Indonesia. The Sicanang Medan Belawan mangrove forest, North Sumatra Province, is a wetland area which mostly consists of mangrove forests. In the mangrove forest, there are Rhizophora apiculata and Avicennia alba species. Mangroves have unique morphological characters as a form of adaptation to the environment, one of which is the salinity of sea water which is the level of salinity or salt content in seawater. In the mangrove forest of Sicanang Medan Belawan, there are Rhizophora apiculata and Avicennia alba species which have the characteristics of vivivar culture development. From the results of test 1 on the species Rhizopora apiculata, it was found that the highest salinity level at the muddy and sandy station was 30 ppm, and the highest pH was at 7.79, and at a temperature of 29 C. While for Avicennia alba the highest salinity value was obtained at 30.6 ppm, the highest pH was at 7.82. , and temperature at 29.5 C. Based on the results that different zoning could affect yield, the vivivary shape of mangroves also had an effect on yield. salinity affects mangroves to develop, the higher the salinity, the more difficult it is for the seeds to develop

Abstract

Writing this paper aims to introduce the king's wooden tree (Koompassia excelsa) to the general public, as the background of this writing because North Sumatra especially in the Tangkahan Langkat forest has one tree with a height of almost 88 meters with very large roots and very hard wood, but not much people know it, this can happen because of lack of exposure and lack of publicity both directly and with the mass media. The method used in this study is the Exploration Method and directly record the sample during the trip. The area observed in the data collection process is 40 hectares divided into 2 regions, namely Region A (15 Hectares) and Region B (25 Hectares). The purpose of this study is to explain that the Koompasia excelsa species is an original species called Timber The king and saw its abundance in the Gunung Leuser Tangkahan Langkat Forest which is adjacent to the Natural Protection Forest of Bukit Barisan National Park in North Sumatra. Based on the results of research in the Gunung Leuser National Park Forest area, North Sumatra it can be concluded that the tualang tree can be found in lowland habitats with altitudes reaching 350 m above sea level and slope rates varying from 40-60. The dominance of species and associations is one of the factors that influence the adventure habitat, but that does not mean that other species do not influence the adventure habitat, such as altitude, soil type, and species of animals that have not been observed and analyzed further. In addition, it is necessary o carry out an inventory of adventurers to estimate the population in North Sumtatra, so that if there is a decline in population, conservation status can be improved.
