Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) desain kegiatan untuk menumbuhkan dan menguatkan karakter kepemimpinan; (2) pelaksanaan kegiatan OSIS yang merupakan salah satu kegiatan pembinaan kesiswaan di SMK Negeri 2 Blitar; (3) dampak terhadap penumbuhan dan penguatan karakter kepemimpinan karena program kegiatan OSIS untuk menumbuhkan dan menguatkan karakter kepemimpinan tidak tersusun secara terstruktur dan kurang nampak yang disebabkan kegiatan di SMK lebih banyak praktik sesuai dengan program keahlian masing-masing dan waktu untuk kegiatan organisasi tidak maksimal. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif yang dilakukan di SMK Negeri 2 Blitar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Desain yang diterapkan untuk menumbuhkan karakter kepemimpinan adalah personal development, desain untuk menguatkan karakter kepemimpinan adalah melalui pelaksanaan kegiatan yang masuk dalam rencana kerja OSIS. (2) Pelaksanaan kegiatan secara keseluruhan telah dilakukan dengan baik sesuai dengan desainyang telah dibuat. (3) Dampak terhadap penumbuhan dan penguatan karakter kepemimpinan bersifat positif tercermin dengan munculnya karakter integritas yang merupakan ciri seorangpemimpin ideal

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan menyimak cerita anak melalui media animasi audio visual siswa kelas VI SD Negeri Oeba 3 Kupang, Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI SD Negeri Oeba 3 Kupang. Variabel dalam penelitian ini yaitu keterampilan menyimak cerita anak dan penggunaan media animasi audio visual. Setiap siklus terdapat instrumen yang berwujud tes dan nontes. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Berdasarkan analisis data penelitian keterampilan menyimak cerita anak pada pratindakan, siklus I, dan siklus II menunjukkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelas. Hal tersebut terlihat pada keaktifan siswa dan keantusiasan siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran menyimak cerita anak melalui media animasi audio visual.

Abstract

This research was carried out to deter­mine antibacterial activity of white tea extract against gram positive and gram negative bacteria based on its MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration). Ethanol solution 96% were used to extract of white tea with a ratio of 1:9 (w/v) by using maceration method. Paper disc diffusion method was used to determination of the MIC. The concentrations were used of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12% (w/v). The results of this research showed that MIC of white tea extract of 4%, 6%, 6% and 10% (w/v) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027, Staphy­lococcus aureus ATCC 29213, Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228, and Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, respectively. The inhibition zone for 4 bacteria were 10.83 mm, 10.08 mm, 10.16 mm and 12.08 mm respectively. This result of research concluded that white tea extract have antibacterial activity against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria

Abstract

Giving students a various method when teaching is one of the effort to achieve the goal of learning, especially in English.  English is one of the subject that has very important role and also one of the national exam subject. In fact English is one of the lesson that the students do not like very much which could effect their learning outcomes. According to interviews with previous teachers learning outcomes of eleventh grade has under the KKM, it because  less active of the students when learning and less creative of the teacher when teaching. Therefore, researcher need to conduct a research to improve the student’s learning outcomes. The research aimed to find out how can cooperative learning Student Teams Achievements Divisions improve students learning outcomes of Eleventh Grade Students at SMK Teluk Kepayang  This study is a classroom action research using the research model of Kemmis and Taggart. This study was conducted in SMK Teluk Kepayang and the subject of this research were 27 students in eleventh grade in one cycle. The research procedure consist of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used (1) observation to collect data on student activity (2) tests to assessed student achievement in the end of the study (3) a questionnaire to obtained data about the implementation of students opinion cooperative learning Students Team Achievements Division. The data obtained during the research consisted of qualitative data and quantitative data. The qualitative data were obtained from observations and interviews, while the quantitative data were gained from tests. The qualitative data were analyzed by condensing data, displaying data, and drawingconclussion. The mean scores of the tests were gained as the result of the quantitativedata analysis..The results showed that: first, students activities in the classroom was increased in every meeting. In meeting 1  53.33%, meeting 2 increased to 59.52%, meeting 3 decreased into 53.57, meeting 4 increased 62.5%, meeting 5 increased 70.63 and the last meeting  75%. Second, the learning outcomes of the students also increased with average from 68.81 to 82.22. So it means that The components of STAD contributed to students learning outcomes and  students’ participation in the classroom in small group.

Abstract

Abstract: A great deal of (independent) learning in higher education involves reading; students? reading motivation is therefore especially important in learning. The current study thus aimed to find out what kind of lecturer?s roles and instructions does the lecturer use in motivating students to read in a sample of 5 students in Academic Reading/Vocabulary Class B and a lecturer. Lecturer?s roles and instructions in regard to the promotion of reading were assessed by classroom observations, to determine the actual classroom practices. Following these observations, students were interviewed using a conversational or semi structured interview. The lecturer was also interviewed in the same manner. The results revealed that the lecturer?s roles and instructions that promote students? reading motivation are in the forms of embedded values in reading, creating a safe learning environment, supporting real-world interactions, providing interesting texts, giving strategy instruction, giving opportunity to communicate conceptual understanding, and supporting students? collaboration. Keywords: Reading Motivation, Lecturer?s Role, Lecturer?s Instruction Abstrak: Membaca merupakan hal utama pada pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi, sehingga motivasi membaca menjadi hal penting yang harus dimiliki mahasiswa. Oleh karenanya, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan apa saja peran dan instruksi yang digunakan oleh seorang dosen untuk memotivasi mahasiswa untuk membaca. Objek pada penelitian ini adalah 5 orang mahasiswa dan seorang dosen pada perkuliahan Academic Reading/Vocabulary di kelas B. Peran dan instruksi dosen tersebut diukur dengan melakukan observasi yang bertujuan untuk melihat langsung proses perkuliahan. Bersamaan dengan itu, mahasiswa dan dosen diwawancara dengan menggunakan conversational atau semi structured interview. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa peran dan instruksi yang digunakan dosen untuk memotivasi mahasiswa membaca adalah dengan menanamkan nilai-nilai akan pentingnya membaca, menciptakan suasana kelas yang aman, mendukung interaksi nyata dengan objek yang dibaca, menyediakan teks yang menarik, mengajarkan strategi-strategi dalam membaca, memberi kesempatan untuk mengkomunikasikan pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai teks yang dibaca, serta mendukung mahasiswa untuk berkolaborasi saat membaca.   Kata kunci: Motivasi Membaca, Peran Dosen, Instruksi Dosen

Abstract

WHO telah menetapkan Indonesia sebagai negara dengan jumlah perokok terbesar ketiga. Ada tiga zat kimia yang paling sangat berbahaya, yaitu tar, nikotin, karbon monoksida yang terkandung dalam rokok. Hasil penelitian di Inggris menunjukkan kepada kita bahwa kurang lebih 50% perokok yang merokok sejak remaja mengalami kematian akibat penyakit yang berhubungan dengan kebiasaan merokok mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang pengaruh asap rokok dengan proses kaskade clotting time. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik dengan menggunakan desain cross-sectional. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel populasi laki-laki di Fakultas Kedokteran di UMSU yang diwawancara untuk mengetahui bahwa mereka merokok atau tidak, setelah itu, sampel diperiksa clotting time dan bleeding time. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan p = 0,000 bahwa ada hubungan merokok dengan clotting time dan bleeding time pada perokok berat dan sedang. Pada perokok berat dan moderat terdapat hubungan bermakna antara penurunan bleeding time dan peningkatan clotting time dengan merokok. Tidak ada hubungan antara clotting time dan merokok pada perokok ringan.

Abstract

[Title: The Use of Image Media in Improving Initial Reading Ability at Jatisela PGRI Kindergarten]. This study aims to determine the extent to which the use of image media can improve the initial reading ability in Group B of the Jatisela PGRI Kindergarten Students in the 2017/2018 Academic Year. This study is a Classroom Action Research with qualitative-quantitative data analysis techniques. The subjects of the study were 23 students of group B of the Jatisela PGRI Kindergarten. The results of data analysis show that the use of image media can (1) improve students initial reading ability, (2) make learning activities more active and fun, (3) the students initial reading ability after the second cycle increases with a percentage of 95.65%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the use of image media can improve the students initial reading ability of group B Jatisela PGRI Kindergarten Sesela Village, Gunungsari, West Lombok 2017/2018 Academic Year.

Abstract

The process of evaluating the performance of teachers and education personnel in several schools is still carried out manually, where the calculation of performance is only seen based on absenteeism and is still very subjective, this is quite time consuming in the calculation so thatit is ineffective and inefficient besides the results are less accurate. To overcome the problems above, we need a computerized system so that it can solve the problem and speed up the process. Therefore, this study proposes the design of teacher and staff performance appraisal systems automatically based on data collection methods, pieces analysis to evaluate system performance, and design methods using uml (unifield modeling language) which includes usecase, activity, squence and class diagrams as a tool to provide an overview of the design that is running or will be created. Then for the database processing using mysql, which will ultimately produce a well-integrated system, so that the model created is expected to be able to calculate the performance of teachers and education personnel quickly, accurately, objectively and transparently. This can be done because the calculation process is computerized, and the assessment categories include very good, good, sufficient and less. In addition the existence of a dashboard in the form of recapitulation can be used as a basis for decision making.

Abstract

Learning resources and media play very important roles in learningactivities in the classroom. Various learning resources complemented withinteractional media will encourage the learners to be more active in theclassroom. The objective of this present research is to analyze whatlearning resources and media are used by the teacher in learningpolyhedrons. This research was conducted in MTs N Malang 1. Themethods of data collection were observations and interviews. To obtain thedata, the researcher made observations during learning activities and thencompared the data from the observations and those of the interviews withthe teacher concerned and with one of the students joining in the learningactivities. The data were qualitative in nature. Based on the data analysis, itwas revealed that learning resources and media used were IT-based. Thelearning resources were electronic books and the package books for GradeVIII and the media were the property from Power Point. The learningbasedIT for students Grade VIII-A MTs N Malang 1 gave good effects on allstudents, so that all of them joined in the learning activities actively.
