Abstract

This aim of the study was to analyze the influence of economic, social, and feed quality factors on layer farmers’ satisfaction towards the ration produced by small scale feed industry in Sidrap Regency. The study was conducted by survey and observation method. Data were analyzed using the linear regression analysis. The results showed that the economic and feed quality factors did not significantly affect the level of farmers’ satisfaction. However, social factor contributed significantly to the satisfaction of farmer on the ration produced by small scale feed industry

Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze farmers’ perception towards small scale feed mill in terms of socio-economic factors. The study was conducted with purposive sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively and likert scale analysis. The results showed that the perception of farmer laying on the socio-economic factors of the small scale feed mill is quite good and positive to support the sustainability of small and medium scale enterprise

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the contract of broiler partnership farming system in the Province of South Sulawesi in conjunction to the Law No. 5, 1999 regarding prohibition on monopolistic and unfair business competition. This research was carried out from August 2013 till October 2013 in Maros and Gowa Districts of South Sulawesi. All broiler farmers were treated as the population of the study and farmers having contract with any company in the region were taken as the samples giving total number of sample was 50 farmers. The results of study showed that the implementation of partnership was in line with the contract. However, there were some points of the contract which were not well implemented by both parties, such as the late harvest time and the late payment in which these did not comply with the Law No. 5, 1999.

Abstract

Broiler poultry husbandry is the most favorite kind of husbandry business due to its high level of product demand. Maros is a region which is well known as one of the central areas of broiler meat production in South Sulawesi. The development of broiler poultry business managed by the locals breeders could have a signifcant impact towards an increase revenue of the breeders. But in reality, not many of the poultry broiler breeders could well developtheir own businesses, in fact some of them have not made any progress since its establishment. The aim this research was to analyze the the effects of social and economic factors of the breeders on the growth of the broiler poultry business. It was conducted from November to December 2015 by using primary and secondary data The population of the research was all the broiler breeders in the area, while the number of samples taken from the population was 79. The primary data obtained from interviews with farm owners using the questioners that have been prepared before hand and the secondary data were obtained from the website and the relevant institution. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicated that the social and economic factors of the broiler breeders, either partial or simultant, had a signifcant effect on the growth of the bussiness of broiler poultry husbandry.

Abstract

For small-scale beef cattle farmers, capital is one of the main inhibiting factors in developing their farming. Teseng is one of the local wisdom which is a solution for providing capital for small-scale farmers. This study aims to determine the effect of the socio-economic characteristics of breeders on the adoption of Teseng. The research was conducted in Mattirowalie Village, Libureng District, Bone Regency, which is one of the areas in the development of the Teseng system. The number of samples was 76 breeders consisting of 61 farmers who did not adopt Teseng and 15 breeders who adopt Teseng. The independent variable consists of perceptions of capital availability (X1), land area (X2), number of livestock (X3) and age of farmers (X4). The dependent variable is the adoption of Teseng. The regression model used was logistic regression because the dependent variable was a dichotomous variable (1 for adoption and 0 for no adoption of Teseng). The results showed that the factors that influenced the adoption of Teseng were land area (P<0.01) and the number of livestock (P<0.05). Perception, age and number of families did not have a significant effect on Teseng adoption. To increase the adoption of Teseng, the ability of breeders to provide feed both from the existing land and from the provision of alternative feed needs to be developed.

Abstract

Usaha peternakan ayam ras petelur merupakan salah satu upaya dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan manusia akan protein hewani yang semakin meningkat. Salah satu faktor yang sering menjadi permasalahan pada usaha peternakan ayam ras petelur adalah ketersediaan bahan pakan yang berkualitas dengan harga yang terjangkau. Tingginya harga pakan komersial mendorong peternak melakukan inovasi dengan cara menyusun pakan sendiri dengan menggunakan bahan pakan lokal yang tersedia sehingga kebutuhan pakan ayam ras petelur dapat terpenuhi baik secara kuantitas maupun kualitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui alasan peternak ayam ras petelur memilih pakan produksi lokal. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 5 kecamatan di Kabupaten Sidrap yang memiliki jumlah ternak ayam ras petelur terbesar yaitu Kecamatan Maritengngae (1.112.100 ekor), Kecamatan Kulo (990.600 ekor), Kecamatan Panca Rijang (826.500 ekor), Kecamatan Baranti (399.400 ekor), dan Kecamatan Panca Lautang (375.850 ekor). Sampel penelitian dari kecamatan dipilih 25 peternak sehingga keseluruhan sampel terpilih 125 peternak. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak sederhana. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan bantuan kuisioner. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala likert pada setiap parameter yang diukur yaitu 1 = tidak setuju, 2 = kurang setuju, 3 = setuju dan dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alasan peternak ayam ras petelur memilih pakan produksi lokal di Kabupaten Sidrap berdasarkan harga pakan, ketersediaan pakan, kandungan nutrisi pakan, daya tahan pakan, warna pakan, aroma pakan, bentuk butiran, informasi pakan, dan desain kemasan pakan berada pada kategori setuju.

Abstract

Broiler chicken is one of the poultry commodities that has a very fast growth rate and high productivity, especially in producing chicken meat. In the broiler chicken partnership business, large companies provide inputs such as DOC, feed and medicines. The farmer provides a cage and equipment as well as labor for raising the chickens until harvest. This study aims to determine the level of farmer satisfaction in the broiler partnership system at PT. Evaria Farm. The research location was in Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi Province, which was carried out from December 2020 to January 2021. The type of research used was descriptive quantitative. The sample in this study were 28 partner breeders. The data were collected through interviews with the help of a questionnaire. The data analysis used in this research is the Imfortance Performance Analysis (IPA) and the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The results showed an average level of performance analysis (IPA) was 4.30 and an interest rating of 4.98 with an average level of suitability of 86.35 and a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) of 86.04, meaning that the level of farmer satisfaction in the partnership system as a whole are on the criteria very satisfied

Abstract

Permasalahan mitra pengabdian yaitu penyediaan pakan untuk ternak itik masih terbatas pada saat musim tanam di sawah, sehingga peternak harus menjamin ternak itiknya dengan pakan pabrikan yang harganya mahal dan juga mengandalkan sisa makanan di dapur. Adanya keterbatasan biaya pakan, sehingga peternak itik harus mencari alternatif untuk menekan biaya pakan tersebut. Salah satu solusi yang diberikan adalah melakukan kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan mengenai budidaya maggot. Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat khususnya kelompok Tani Samalewae dalam budidaya maggot. Diharapkan, hasil akhir dari kegiatan ini, peternak bisa menambah populasi ternak itiknya dengan mengurangi pembelian pakan pabrikan dan pada kondisi tidak ada panen di sawah. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan yaitu ceramah, diskusi dan praktek. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini terlihat bahwa selama pemberian materi berlangsung dari awal sampai akhir, para peserta terlihat sangat serius dan antusias dalam menerima dan menanggapi materi yang disampaikan. Begitu Pula pada saat praktek, terlihat partisipasi peserta membantu tim pengabdian membuat kandang maggot dan mengatur peralatan bahan dan peralatan di kandang maggot. Hasil monitoring pasca kegiatan pengabdian terlihat bahwa sudah ada pengetahuan peternak mengenai budidaya maggot, walaupun belum maksimal. Untuk keberlanjutannya diharapkan pihak pemerintah setempat melakukan pendampingan dengan tujuan budidaya maggot ini dapat berkembang di daerahnya.
