Abstract

21st century skills prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in life and careers in the world of work. One thing that needs to be developed is self-confidence which is an important character in achieving learning goals. The sample of this research is 34 students of MAN 2 Jember. The data technique used is a questionnaire. Data processing is done using SPSS. The results of the study of students' self-confidence at the pretest obtained an average score of 52.67 which indicates the category of moderate confidence and self-confidence of students at the post-test obtained an average of 81.33 which indicates that the category of high self-confidence means confidence students' self between pretest and post-test increased by 28,667. The research recommendation is that it is necessary to build a learning environment that can increase students' self-confidence. Based on the results of the study and its relationship with previous research, it shows that the ARCS learning model has an effect on increasing students' self-confidence.

Abstract

Waters as rain, rivers, and seas are one the most common feature found upon Southeast Asian region. It has been establishing this region significantly distinctive along with others. Water is such profound thing everywhere, but it helds most importantly in Southeast Asia Maritime region, with its long shorelines in relation to it landmass, and with the enormous expanses of surrounding Island of Southeast Asia and abutting the shores of Mainland Southeast Asia. Waters in form such rain, rivers, and seas undoubtly giving a certain pattern of social and economical circumstance towards society. Java was known as the biggest rice producer until 19th century, especially manufactured among Javanese kingdoms. Rice had been the trademark of exchange in Java that was contributed across the land overtime. Here, wet rice cultivation has been a typical technique engaged in Java and remains until presents. This article discusses the water impact towards rice trade in Java during 14th century.

Abstract

This community service activity is carried out with the target students of the Abdurahman Saleh University Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program Situbondo. Partner problems that are a priority and need to be resolved through this PKM program are (1) the low level of financial literacy among students, (2) knowledge and understanding of the concept of assets and liabilities, (3) knowledge and understanding of the time value of money, and (4) knowledge and understanding of the concept of risk in finance. The solutions to be achieved include: (1) providing training on the concept of assets and liabilities, (2) providing training on the time value of money, (3) providing training on the concept of risk in finance. The expected outcomes of this PKM activity are (1) increased knowledge and understanding of the concept of assets and liabilities, (2) increased knowledge and understanding of the time value of money, (3) increased knowledge and understanding of the concept of risk in finance, (4) Able to make personal financial planning

Abstract

History Education to Encourage Nationalism Interest Towards Young People Amidst Globalization. This paper attempts to construct history education concept in establishing nationalism interest towards young people amidst globalization stream. This study is a qualitative research utilizing the case study method due to object studied was derived from reality. Globalization as an inseparable era upon modern societies has been bringing significant impact in many respects of life, one of which is the education field. As part of the historical series, young people at the initial stage of the nationalism movement appeared in Indonesia performed as activators that gained profound responsibility in maintaining and developing such values. Managing historical awareness that is expected to develop national identity has become the basic goal of education. Concepts being discussed here were derived from events analysis and the development of Indonesia education recently. Beside globalization, 21st century challenges also come in the form of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Z Generation which prompt learning to be more complex. These challenges could be dealt  with continuation innovation, also critical history learning that referring to several theories and prior research is actively capable in increasing nationalism interest amidst globalization.

Abstract

This research begins by looking at the learning problems that occur in class XI IPS 1 at SMAN Tuban, namely the lack of motivation and student learning outcomes, then conducting a needs analysis and selecting media development according to the problems that occur. The thematic map media development that utilizes the Google Maps application uses a development model from Lee & Owen. The results of the validation show: 1) Material validator with a percentage of 85.41 percent with "valid" criteria, 2) Media validator with a percentage of 86.86 percent with "valid" criteria, 3) Increasing learning motivation, after comparing before and after applying thematic maps show a difference of 24 percent, with the criteria "motivated", 4) Improve student learning outcomes, the comparison between pretest and post-test shows a difference of 21 percent, with the criteria "satisfactory". Based on the research results, it can be concluded that thematic map media using the Google Maps application can increase student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Community service in the form public lectures target students of the history education program, University of Jember. The problems faced by students and need to be solved through this community service program include, (1) lack understanding of Indian culture in Indonesia, (2) lack understanding of students about the implications of Indian culture in Indonesia and (3) there has never been a public lecture on culture. India in Indonesia before. The solutions to be achieved include; (1) giving public lectures on Indian culture in Indonesia by Indian experts and classical historians, (2) providing direction to students on approaches to learning about Indian culture in Indonesia, and (3) establishing academic cooperative relationships with Indian academics.

Abstract

History learning has fundamental curriculum changes at every school level. Learning which now refers to the learning objectives of Historical Thinking which is designed so that one of the students has the ability to think Analytically or Analytical skills. This study was conducted to determine the increase in the Analytical Skils of students using Google Classroom media.This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Google Classroom as a learning medium in improving students' Analytical skills. This type of research uses quantitative experimental research. The research subjects used students of class X IPS SMAN 02 Tanggul. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and test instruments by giving pre-test and post-test questions. The results showed that in the field trial there was an increase in Analytical Skills of 80.14 percent with very high qualifications. Based on this research, the researcher suggests that teachers can master the Google Classroom media well, so that students are able to understand the instructions given.Pembelajaran sejarah memiliki perubahan kurikulum yang mendasar pada setiap jenjang sekolah. Pembelajaran yang sekarang mengacu pada tujuan pembelajaran Historical Thinking yang dirancang agar salah satu siswa memiliki kemampuan berpikir Analitis atau Analytical skills. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan Kemampuan Analitik siswa dengan menggunakan media Google Classroom. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan Google Classroom sebagai media pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan Analitik siswa. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian eksperimen kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian yang digunakan siswa kelas X IPS SMAN 02 Tanggul. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan instrumen tes dengan memberikan soal pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada uji coba lapangan terjadi peningkatan Analytical Skills sebesar 80,14 persen dengan kualifikasi sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, peneliti menyarankan agar guru mampu menguasai media Google Classroom dengan baik, sehingga siswa mampu memahami instruksi yang diberikan.

Abstract

Historical awareness is a demand that needs to be achieved in history learning in the 4.0 era by implementing paradigma mereka belajar and the 2013 curriculum. The low historical awareness of the younger generation in the 4.0 era can be seen from the implementation of learning history in school. This is in line with the results of the questionnaire in three schools which showed the low awareness of the history of students, as follows; 59.42% for SMAN 4 Jember, 50.33% for SMAN 1 Tanggul and 58.66% for SMAN 2 Tanggul. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) model in increasing students' historical awareness. This type of research uses qualitative experimental research. The sample of this study was 98 students from class XI of SMAN 1 Tanggul, SMAN 2 Tanggul, and SMAN 4 Jember. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' historical awareness which can be seen from the four historical awareness indicators, as follows; (1) 74.36%; (2) 86.40%; (3) 73.51% and (4) 72.39%. Based on this research, the researcher suggests educators to create a history learning environment that provides freedom to express themselves, respect each other, be responsible and utilize technology by paying attention to the historical awareness of students and being innovative in choosing the learning model to be implemented.

Abstract

Paradigma pembelajaran berubah sangat cepat seiring dengan adanya transformasi digital di era RI 4.0. Perubahan ini mengharuskan pendidik berinovasi untuk menerapkan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, memotivasi dan menarik minat peserta didik yang merupakan gen-Z. Pembelajaran berfokus pada proses pemecahan masalah, guna mengembangkan keterampilan 4C skills peserta didik. Critical thinking skills peserta didik merupakan salah satu keterampilan 4C yang menjadi salah satu capaian belajar sejarah dalam kurikulum merdeka. Namun berdasarkan observasi di sekolah 48,8% CTS  peserta didik kategori rendah. Berdasarkan hasil observasi tersebut dilakukan analisis kebutuhan untuk menemukan solusi pemecahan masalah. Produk pemecah masalah dalam penelitian pengembangan ini berupa e-modul berbasis process oriented guided inquiry learning (POGIL). Model penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan 4D. E-modul berbasis POGIL yang dihasilkan telah tervalidasi ahli dan dinyatakan layak digunakan. Kelayakan e-modul berbasis POGIL dapat dilihat dari hasil validasi ahli isi bidang studi mencapai persentase 75,7% dengan kualifikasi baik, validasi ahli bahasa mencapai persentase 90% dengan kualifikasi sangat baik dan validasi ahli media mencapai 83,6% dengan kualifikasi baik. E-modul berbasis POGIL mampu meningkatkan critical thinking skills peserta didik sebesar 77,2% dengan kualifikasi tinggi. Kesimpulannya telah tervalidasi ahli dan direkomendasikan layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran serta dapat meningkatkan CTS peserta didik.
