Abstract

The Purpose of this study aims to determine differences in learning outcomes using media comics through cooperative learning model type TAI and cooperative type STAD on the material of Chemical Bonds and knowing the differences in interest in learning with models TAI type cooperative learning on Bond material Chemistry. The population in this study were all students of class X IPA in SMA Private Harapan Medan, which consists of three classes. The sample used in this study; two classes were taken using the purposive sampling technique. The instrument with 20 questions that are valid and reliable. Learning outcomes data in te Normality tes with a value of sig.0,06 and 0,00 (0,05) means that the learning outcomes data are normally distributed. Test the homogeneity of the result data learning 0,603 0,05, it can be concluded that the variance of learning outcomes data on Experiments 1 and 2 are homogeneous. Hypothesis testing was carried out with Two Sample, the learning outcomes (2-tailed) 0,080(0,05) and student interest (2-tailed) 0,65(0,05) so that Ha is accepted and HO is rejected, it can be concluded that there is Differences in student learning outcomes between those who are taught using the model TAI and STAD cooperative learning with what is taught by comics media at the subjects of the Chemical Association and there are differences in student learning interests between students those who are taught use the TAI cooperative learning model and STAD with what comic media teaches on the subject of the Chemical Association. Abstract

AbstrakTelah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian berupa pemanfaatan urin sapi menjadi pupuk organik cair pada kelompok tani “Sidodadi” dan “Maju II” desa Sukadamai Timur. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah 1) meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani/peternak dalam membuat pupuk organik cair dari urin sapi sebagai bahan utama 2) membantu meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan petani/peternak dari sub-sektor pertanian. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dimulai dengan metode pendekatan dengan menjalin kerjasama tim pelaksana dengan LPM Unimed dan pemerintah setempat serta kedua Kelompok Tani, dilanjutkan dengan penyuluhan dan pelatihan serta penerapan langsung oleh petani/peternak. Hasil-hasil yang diperoleh adalah anggota kader dari masing-masing kelompok mitra telah : (1) memiliki pengetahuan dan wawasan tentang potensi dan pemanfaatan urin sapi menjadi pupuk organik cair, (2) memiliki keterampilan dalam pembuatan pupuk organik cair, (3) pupuk yang dihasilkan berpengaruh positif terhadap tanaman.Kata kunci : urin sapi, pupuk organik cairAbstract The service activities have been carried out at the “Sidodadi" and "Maju II” farmer groups, East Sukadamai village by the utilization of cow urine as the starter in liquid organic fertilizer. The main purpose of this activity is 1) to improve the knowledge and skills of farmer/ranchers in making liquid organic fertilizer from cow urine as a main ingredient 2) to help improving the income and welfare of farmers/ranchers from the agricultural sub-sector. This service activities began with a partnership approach with the implementation team with LPM Unimed and local governments as well as the Farmers Group, followed by counseling and training as well as direct application by farmers. The results of implementation of the project showed that the member of each groups; (1) have the knowledge and insight about the potential and the usage of cow urine as starter in fabrication of liquid organic fertilizer; (2) have good skill to prepare liquid organic fertilizer; (3) have shown the positive effect of the liquid organic fertilizer on growing the plant. Abstract

Adsorbent is an adsorption that is used to absorb various pollutants. Adsorbents can be used from natural materials. Natural ingredients that can be used are oil palm empty bunches. Oil palm empty bunches are a carbon-rich material that is getting new research interest in adsorption because of its abundance and properties. Oil palm empty bunches contain carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, sulfur, lignin, hemicellulose, and cellulose. Oil palm empty bunches are used as adsorbent for water saturation.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is a set of learning activitiesthat emphasize the process of solving problems faced scientifically. The use ofvideo media can help students' learning process and will have a big impact onthe learning outcomes of thermochemical material because almost everyone,from children to the elderly, now has a smartphone. In addition to learningvideos, powerpoint is one of the learning media that can help students who havelearning difficulties. The purpose of this study was to determine whether thethermochemistry learning outcomes taught using PBL-based learning videoswere higher than the thermochemistry learning outcomes taught using PBLbased PPT. This study involved the experimental class I and the experimentalclass II. From the results of the study, the average pre-test for the experimentalclass I was 41,95 and the experimental class II was 41.44. After being treatedwith learning in both experimental classes, post-test was then recommended todetermine learning outcomes, the post-test average of experimental class I was83.14 and experimental class II was 78.44. The results showed that theexperimental class I which was taught by learning video media and the PBLmodel was higher than the learning outcomes of the experimental class II whichwas taught by the powerpoint media and the PBL model. It can be concludedthat the use of instructional video media, learning outcomes are higher than theuse of powerpoint media.

Abstract

This study aims to the learning outcomes learning activities and a significant correlation beetweenlearning outcomes and student activities thar were taught with the TTW mode assisted and NHT on chemical of basic laws and chemical calculations matter at SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Morawa. From the result of data analysis obtained for learning outcomes students who are taught with TTW model (83,67) are higher than NHT (66,21). So hypothesis testing is carried out using one sample t test at a significant level of 5 % showing that in learning outcomes tcount > ttable ttabel (8,63 > 1,67). Whereas learning activities that were taught in TTW model (82,76) are higher than the learning activities NHT (61,53). For hypothesis testing showing than in learning activities tcount > ttable (8,39 > 1,67). So there is significant correlation between learning outcomes and student activities taught with TTW model. The results of correlation the two variables are included in the high category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) Untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan saintifik dengan media PowerPoint lebih tinggi dibandingkan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model konvensional (2) Untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap penerapan pendekatan saintifik dengan media PowerPoint pada pokok bahasan ikatan kimia. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X MIA SMA Swasta Amir Hamzah Medan, sebanyak 40 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 2 kelas, yaitu kelas X MIA-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X MIA-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Kedua kelas diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda, kelas eksperimen dengan pendekatan saintifik dan media PowerPoint, sedangkan kelas kontrol dibelajarkan dengan model konvensional.  Dari hasil posttest diperoleh rata-rata nilai hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 88,75 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 81,50. Dari hasil N-gain diperoleh persentase peningkatan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen sebesar 84,9% dan kelas kontrol sebesar 76,2%. Berdasarkan nilai perhitungan N-gain peningkatan hasil belajar yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan saintifik dan media PowerPoint lebih tinggi dari pada peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan model konvensional. Respon siswa terhadap pendekatan saintifik dan media PowerPoint pada materi ikatan kimia memiliki persentase 80,25% dan dikategorikan baik

Abstract

Kegiatan PKM dilatarbelakangi oleh usaha ternak kambing yang mengalami kekurangan pakan hijauan dan kesulitan peternak untuk meningkatkan produksinya. Hal ini berdampak pada produksi dan reproduksi ternak kambing yang rendah. Sementara itu, perkebunan Amal Tani menghasilkan limbah berupa pelepah daun kelapa sawit. Limbah ini cukup berlimpah sepanjang tahun dan belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Potensi ini dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan pakan komplit dengan memanfaatkan pelepah sebagai sumber serat sehingga dapat menjadi pakan alternatif pengganti pakan hijauan. Metode pelaksanaan PKM ini adalah menjalin kerjasama Tim Pelaksana dan LPM UNIMED, penyuluhan dan pelatihan kepada kelompok mitra. Dalam kegiatan ini Tim pelaksana telah mensosialisasikan tentang program Pengabdian, tujuan kegiatan, target dan luaran yang akan dicapai, dan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mitra telah dijelaskan tentang pemanfaatan limbah pelepah sawit menjadi pakan ternak kambing/sapi. Melalui teknologi pakan ternak silase dari limbah pelepah daun kelapa sawit di Desa Perkebunan Amal Tani diharapkan masyarakat tidak lagi tergantung pada pakan hijauan alami dalam pemenuhan konsumsi pakan ternak.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia since middle-March 2020 has undergone significant changes. Online learning to answer questions is a solution to the virus problem that has spread to cut cases of the Covid-19 virus using online media. Edmodo is a learning application that the application can use in bold type learning, including atomic structure material. This study analyzes the Edmodo-based understanding used for learning media on atomic structure material and how students respond to the Edmodo application in chemistry learning, especially atomic structure material. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the effectiveness of learning was 69%, application sustainability during the pandemic was 76%, ease of access was 97%, ease of communication was 61%, the clear assessment was 84%, and understanding of the material Edmodo was 59%. Implementing chemistry learning consists of (1) choosing Edmodo as a bold learning medium in chemistry learning based on analyzing student needs with reasoning and mastery of applications; (2) planning the application as a student learning medium as described in the Semester Learning Plan; (3) implementation in Edmodo-based online learning is carried out well and smoothly based on semester learning plan; and (4) edmodo as an application can help carry out chemistry learning in atomic structure subjects to measure student learning outcomes. So it can be concluded that Edmodo is a practical application to use during the Pandemic of Covid-19. Keywords: Covid-19 virus, edmodo, implementation of edmodo, online learning

Abstract

Biosorbent derived from agricultural waste as one of the widely used adsorbents has many applications in the environment to remove pollutants, one of which is heavy metal copper (Cu). In this paper, natural sources of agricultural waste materials have been reviewed and have potential as biosorbents for the absorption of heavy metal copper (Cu). The characteristics of the biosorbent that can be used for the absorption of heavy metal copper (Cu) depend on the surface area and pore structure made by the modified method. The biosorbent modification method depends on the precursor and the expected biosorbent characteristics. Natural biosorbents can be converted into modified biosorbents by chemical, physical, or physico-chemical modifications. Abstract

Problem Based Learning and Discovery Learning are models that can increase motivation and learning outcomes of Macromedia Flash-based students on chemical equilibrium materials. The instruments used in this study are test instruments with a cognitive level of C3-C5 and non-test instruments of learning motivation questionnaires. This study aims to: 1) To determine the differences in learning outcomes with the PBL and DL models; and 2) To find a linear and significant relationship between motivatIon and student learning outcomes. The sample was 64 students of class XI MIPA 1 and MIPA 2 who were taken using random sampling techniques. Data analysis using a two-party t-test and a correlation test. The results: 1) There were differences in chemistry learning outcomes of students who were using the PBL and DL models. Where student learning outcomes obtained PBL model (18,219±2,268) and student learning outcomes using the DL model (16,438±2,327) with tvalue (3,101) > ttable (2.00) and a sig value (0.003)< sig(0.05). 2) There is a linear and significant correlation between motivation and student learning outcomes where in the PBL model obtained r count (0.773) > r table (0.349) and dl model obtained rcount (0.770) > r table (0.349) with sig(0.000) value < sig (0.05).
