Abstract

ABSTRACT: Nowadays, characters reinforcement matter has been taken into account for the sake of the nation. We can learn from other countries that succeed in managing education; so that the integration of character education in our country, Indonesia, must be conducted. For that objective, the writer assumes that supplementary books are facility usable for teacher of Indonesian language and literature subject to be exploited. Meanwhile, the effort of Indonesian language study teachers in strengthening student character and upholding ethics is one of effort in improving human resource quality. This effort is very essential, considering the quality of Indonesian citizen is still unsatisfying. Through speaking and writing skills, teacher can evaluate the use of language ethics among students, both directly and indirectly. This article aims to present a study of optimizing language learning to form students’ character and ethics. By combining creativity, character, and ethics to Indonesian language and literature learning, the writer optimizes also implicitly the role and function of Indonesian language and literature learning in accordance to its target, among others for character and students language ethics reinforcement. So, students as the next generation should be prepared to socialize and live properly. Therefore, Indonesian language and literature learning should optimize the students’ role through supplementary books.   KEY WORDS: Character education, teaching and learning process, supplementary books, Indonesian language, and students as the next generation.About the Author: Dr. Hj. Abstract

ABSTRACT: Both on the objective and subjective writing, charts/schemes can be used as a means for the (potential) authors to deliver originality. Loading sources and a list of questions on the data chart useful to preserve the objectivity in scientific writing. Materials contained in the scheme need to be processed and lexicalized through varied language. With its potential, if a person continues to practice, he/she will gain the skills , such as writing. Humans can create meanings in the new contexts and situations that can bring something new that commonly called originality. This study was motivated by the importance of originality in writing. Originality is the crown of the creative process; and as a creative product, writing requires creative process. How to build originality in objective and subjective nature of writing? Both of scientific work as an objective writing and writing essays as subjective writing require specific strategies to maintain its originality. The strategies are implemented in different way, because of the natural difference of those writings. The finding of the strategies are based on the results of experimental study carried out on students of Indonesian Language and Literature Department, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training UNSUR (University of Suryakancana) in Cianjur, West Java, Indonesia in different time. This study is expected to provide reference to the author, the writing training instructors, teachers, and lecturers, who develop writing skills. Abstract

IKHTISAR: Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, masyarakat menggunakan bahasa yang beragam. Secara garis besar, ragam bahasa dapat diklasifikasikan berdasarkan pengguna dan penggunaannya. Dalam hal ini, penting memahami tiga kriteria berkenaan dengan ragam bahasa, yakni: media yang digunakan, latar belakang penutur, dan pokok persoalan yang dibicarakan. Berdasarkan tiga kriteria tersebut biasanya kajian sosio-linguistik dilakukan. Pada umumnya pula, bangsa Indonesia merupakan dwibahasawan, yakni berbahasa Indonesia dan berbahasa daerah, meskipun salah satunya minim. Potensi bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa daerah bagi pemberdayaan masyarakat dapat dikaji melalui pendekatan sosio-linguistik. Data penggunaan bahasa masyarakat di pedesaan dapat deskripsikan berdasarkan struktur, konteks, fungsi, dan maknanya sehingga diketahui pokok-pokok pembicaraan, pandangan hidup, inspirasi, serta harapan hidupnya. Berdasarkan aspek-aspek itu, para katalisator pemberdaya masyarakat desa dapat memilih penggunaan bahasa yang tepat kepada masyarakat dwibahasawan agar masyarakat termotivasi untuk dapat hidup mandiri sesuai dengan kapasitasnya. KATA KUNCI: Potensi bahasa, sosio-linguistik, dwibahasawan, masyarakat Indonesia, pokok-pokok pembicaraan, dan hidup mandiri.ABSTRACT: This article entitled the “Optimalization of Using the Indonesian and the Vernacular Languages as Social Capital in Developing the Rural Community”. In everyday life, people use diverse languages. Broadly speaking, language variations can be classified based on users and usage. In this case, it is important to understand the three criteria with respect to diversity of languages, namely: the media used, background speakers, and the subject matter discussed. Based on the three criteria above, socio-linguistic studies have usually done. In general, Indonesian people is also bilingual, namely they can speak the Indonesian language as well as vernacular language, though one of them is minimum. The potency of Indonesian and vernacular languages for empowering society can be studied by socio-linguistics approach. The usage data of society language in rural people can be described based on structure, context, function, and its meaning so that knowning the talking specifics, way of life, inspiration, and its hope of life. Abstract

IKHTISAR:  Secara umum, literasi diartikan kemampuan membaca dan menulis berdasarkan usia. Pada penelitian ini ianya merujuk literasi bidang sastera, khususnya pengetahuan dan minat dalam membaca sastera. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan literasi bidang sastera pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastera Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan UNSUR (Universitas Suryakancana) di Cianjur, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh isu tentang rendahnya kemampuan literasi. Metode deskriptif digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket tertutup dan terbuka. Angket tertutup dijadikan alat untuk menjaring pengetahuan sastera, sedangkan angket terbuka untuk menggali kesan terhadap karya sastera yang dibaca. Adapun kategori bacaan sastera berbentuk buku kumpulan puisi, sejumlah novel, kumpulan cerita pendek, serta buku naskah drama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum, literasi sastera mahasiswa dalam aspek pengetahuan masih sangat rendah, terutama sastera yang tergolong klasik, sedangkan kemampuan mengungkapkan kesan terhadap bacaan sebaliknya. Kesimpulannya, untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi sastera tidak tepat jika pengetahuan dijadikan satu-satunya alat pengukur literasi sastera.  KATA KUNCI: Literasi sastera, puisi, novel, cerita pendek, naskah drama, minat baca, mahasiswa, serta kemajuan dan kesejahteraan bangsa.ABSTRACT:  This article entitled “Literature Literacy of Students at the Study Program of Indonesian Language and Literature”. In general, literacy means the ability to read and write by age. In this study, literacy refers to the literacy of literature field, in particular knowledge and interest in reading the literature. The purpose of this study is to describe the literature literacy of students at the Study Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training UNSUR (Suryakancana University) in Cianjur, West Java, Indonesia. This research is motivated by issue of low literacy competences. Descriptive method is used to achieve the goals. Instruments used in the form of closed and open questionnaires. Enclosed questionnaire is as a tool for capturing the literature knowledge, while open questionnaire is to explore the impression to literature that is read. The categories of literature readings shaped volume of poetry, a novel, a collection of short stories, and book of drama script. The results showed that the overall literature literacy of students in aspects of literary knowledge is still very low, especially classical literature, while abilities to express the impression what they read are reveal otherwise. The conclusion is that to measure the literature literacy is not appropriate if knowledge be the only means of measuring literature literacy.KEY WORD: Literature literacy, poem, novel, short story, drama script, reading interest, students, and national progress and prosperity.    About the Authors: Dr. Hj. Abstract

  Abstract On thecondition that many problems found in language use, particularly in mass media, an early age language guidance is essentially endeavored, which is in elementary school stage. Therefore, students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, as one component of language development, were given an opportunity to participate in solving that problem. The aims of this study is to discover students’ creativity in implementing language guidance in elementary school. Through mentoring program, they did the planning, implementing, and evaluating the language guidance in group. Descriptive research method used in this study. Observation technique, test, and questionnaire were implemented to examine students’creativity. The data was collected as video recording, media, method, and written report of guidance result. The outcome shows that students’ creativity in implementing language guidance in  elementary school was included in creative category, hence, the program of language guidance on this stage is able to be continued so that Indonesian language can be used in proper way.   Abstrak  Dengan banyaknya permasalahan dalam penggunaan bahasa, terutama di media massa, maka diupayakan perlunya pembinaan bahasa sejak dini, yakni di sekolah dasar (SD). Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia sebagai salah satu komponen pembina bahasa diberi kesempatan untuk berperan serta dalam mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kreativitas mahasiswa yang diimplementasikan dalam kegiatan pembinaan bahasa di  SD. Melalui program pendampingan, mahasiswa merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi kegiatan pembinaan bahasa yang dilakukannya secara berkelompok. Metode penelitian deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Teknik observasi, tes, dan kuesioner digunakan untuk mengetahui kreativitas mahasiswa tersebut. Data penelitian ini berupa video rekaman kegiatan, media dan metode yang digunakan, dan laporan tertulis hasil pembinaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas mahasiswa dalam melakukan pembinaan bahasa di SD termasuk kategori kreatif, sehingga program pembinaan bahasa di tingkatan ini dapat diteruskan untuk mewujudkan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahasa tidak santun telah menimbulkan konflik sosial bahkan sampai masuk ke ranah hukum. Meskipun peristiwa itu terjadi di kalangan remaja dan dewasa, namun menyediakan payung sebelum hujan akan lebih baik. Alasan itulah yang melatarbelakangi kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pembinaan literasi dan bahasa santun di Sekolah Dasar Islamic Center Cianjur. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan observasi penggunaan bahasa siswa di luar dan di dalam kelas. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa para siswa masih belum sepenuhnya berbahasa dan berperilaku santun sehingga pembinaan bahasa santun ini mengaitkannya dengan tujuh pilar budaya Cianjur, karena pilar  Ngaos (mengaji/membaca/literasi) dan, Someah (santun) erat kaitannya dengan kajian Program Studi Pendididkan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Metode simulasi dan bermain peran digunakan dalam kegiatan ini. Hasilnya para siswa dapat menggunakan bahasa Indonesia  santun sehingga menambah pengguna bahasa Indonesia santun, baik di dalam kelas maupun di luar kelas meskipun masih terjadi campur kode, antara bahasa Indonesia dengan bahasa Sunda. Meskipun begitu, penggunaan  bahasa siswa tetap santun.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Istilah Modul Ajar yang digulirkan Sekolah Penggerak memunculkan permasalahan di sekolah. Perbedaan pengertian dan acuan Modul Ajar Baru (MAB) versi Sekolah Penggerak dengan makna Modul Ajar Lama (MAL) pada kurikulum sebelumnya, perlu diatasi. Tulisan ini bertujuan menyamakan persepsi melalui pelatihan di SMP dan SMK Al-Medina Cianjur. Kesamaan persepsi dianggap penting sebagai landasan bagi kegiatan berikutnya. Dengan metode kolaborasi antara dosen dengan mahasiswa serta guru, pelatihan dilakukan luring dan daring. Pemberian materi dan diskusi dilakukan secara tatap muka sedangkan kegiatan pembimbingan serta evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan secara daring. Hasil kegiatan ini berupa  dua versi Modul Ajar,  yakni (1) modul ajar transformasi (karya inovatif) yang  mengacu Kurikulum 2013,  dan (2) Modul Ajar yang adaptif mengacu Kurikulum Sekolah Penggerak. Selain itu, diperoleh  tingkat keberterimaan kegiatan  pelatihan yang dominan berada pada kategori “Baik” dan “Sangat Baik”. Para guru dan mahasiswa merasakan peningkatan soft skill-nya setelah mengikuti pelatihan.  ABSTRACTThe term Teaching Module introduced by Sekolah Penggerak raises problems in schools. Differences in the meaning and reference of the Teaching Module version in the Sekolah Penggerak, which are different from the meaning in the previous curriculum, need to be addressed. This paper aims to equalize perceptions through training in SMP and SMK Al-Medina Cianjur. In the Collaborative method between lectures, students, and teachers, the training is carried out offline and online. The provision of material and discussion is carried out face-to-face, while the mentoring and evaluation activities are carried out online. The results of this activity are in the form of two versions of the Teaching Module, namely (1) the transformation teaching module (innovative work) which refers to the 2013 Curriculum, and (2) the adaptive Teaching Module refers to the Driving School Curriculum. In addition, the level of acceptance of training activities was obtained. More than half of the participants received Good and Very Good. Teachers and students improve their soft skills, they can arrange and differentiate the Teaching Module according to curriculum references.

Abstract

This article discusses students' ability in using word choices (diction) on the poetry of students of SMP Negeri 3 Cianjur. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The techniques used are test and questionnaire. The population of the study is 25 students of class VIII-4. This study concludes that the students’diction ability is 78 (it can be categorized as good). In terms of diction aspects,  formal aspect has very good criteria, synonymy has good criteria, and polysemy has sufficient criteria. Obstacles experienced by students in writing poetry that includes diction aspect and its problem solving.Keywords: diction, formal aspect, polysemy, synonymy.
