Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat peningkatan dari kemamupan mendengar siswa setelah diajar menggunakan tekhnik pendikitian gambar. Penelitian ini adalah quantitave desain dengan satu kelompok pre-test dan post-test. Populasi dari penelitan ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP N 1 Bukit Kemuning yang terdiri dari VII-I sampai VII-6, Dengan 34 siswa dari setiap kelas. Data dalam penelitian ini di analisis dengan menggunakan rumus t-test. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ada perbedaan yang siknifikan dari kemampuan mendengarkan siswa dari belum mendapatkan perlakuan sampai setelah mendapat perlakuan dari pendektean gambar. Jumlah keseluruhan dari pre-test siswa adalah 1970 dan post-test siswa 2380. Rata-rata dari nilai pre-test adalah 57.92 dan post-test 72.12 atau meningkat sekitar 14.18%. Itu membuktikan bahwa nilai siswa meningkat secara siknifikan  karna P0.05 (p=0.000). The objective of the research is to find out whether there is the improvement of students’ listening ability after being taught by picture dictations technique. This research was quantitative research which has one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was the second year students of SMP Negeri 1 Bukit kemuning that consists of six classes, VII-1 until VII-6, and each of class consists of 32-36 students. The sample of this research was VII-3 which is selected by simply lottery drawing. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula.The result of the research showed that there is a significant difference of students’ listening achievement before and after being taught through picture dictations technique. The total score of pre-test was 1970 and post-test was 2380. The increase was 410. The mean score of pre-test was 57.92 and post-test was 72.12 or increased about 14.18%. It proved that the students’ scores increase significantly because p0.05 (p=0.000). Keywords: increasing, listening ability, picture dictation.

Abstract

Tujuan penilitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan atau tidak terhadap kemampuan siswa usia dini dalam penguasaan kosakata setelah diajarkan menggunakan media flashcard. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan dilakanakan di kelas TK B yang berjumlah 15 orang. Peneliti menggunakan tes berbicara untuk mengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam penguasaan kosakata setelah diajarkan menggunakan media flashcard. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa dari pretes ke postes yaitu 12.7 ke 75.0, dengan nilai t-table 59.146 dan t-value 2.028. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan jika flashcard dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berbicara.The aim of this research was to find out whether there was a significant improvement of the students vocabulary achievement for young learners after they were taught by using flashcard. This research used quantitative approach and was conducted to 15 students in B class of kindergarten. The researcher administered speaking test in collecting the data. The result of the data analysis showed that there was a significant improvement in students vocabulary achievement after they were taught by using flashcard. It could be proven from the improvement of students mean score from pretest to posttest, which was 12.7 to 75.0, with t-table is 59.146 and the t-value is 2.028. In short, flashcard can improve students vocabulary achievement.Keywords: flashcard, improving, young learners

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk menganalisis penerapan STAD dalam kelas berbicara, (2) untuk mengetahui pendapat siswa selama penerapan STAD dalam kelas berbicara, dan (3) untuk mengetahui masalah yang siswa hadapi dalam kelas berbicara. Penelitian ini qualitative descriptive yang menggunakan paradigma self reflective teaching. Sasaran dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 14 Bandar Lampung kelas X.4 yang berisi 37 siswa. Pengamatan, kuesioner dan wawancara dilaksanakan untuk memperoleh data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruh komponen STAD diterapkan dengan baik, siswa merespon dengan positif, dan siswa menghadapi masalah khususnya dalam konteks vocabulary and comprehensibility. Bagaimanapun, bisa disimpulkan bahwa STAD menjadi salah satu teknik yang tepat dalam kelas berbicara.                                                                                   The aims of this research were (1) to analyze the implementation of STAD in speaking class, (2) to find out the students’ opinions during the implementation of STAD in speaking class, and (3) to find out the problems students encountered in speaking class. This was qualitative descriptive research which used self reflective teaching paradigm. The subject of this research was the students of SMA Negeri 14 Bandar Lampung in X.4 class consisting of 37 students. Observation, questionnaire and interview were carried out in order to gain the data. The results of this research showed that most components of STAD were well implemented, students responded positively, and students encountered problems especially in terms of vocabulary and comprehensibility. However, it could be concluded that STAD became one of appropriate techniques in speaking class. Keywords: qualitative, speaking class, STAD technique, the implementation.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out whether using Mind Mapping technique is an effective way to increase the students’ ability in reading comprehension. The population of this research was the second year students of SMP Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung that consists of seven classes and two classes were chosen as the experimental class and the try-out class. The research design was one group pretest posttest design. In collecting data, the reseacher administered pretest, treatments, and posttest. The result of the students’ score before and after treatmens implied that mind mapping technique could increase the students’ reading comprehesions. The mean score of pre-test was 57.64 and post-test was 72.11. By comparing between the mean of pre-test and post-test, it can be found that the increase of the mean was 14.47 point. Paired-sample t-test indicates signifiant increase of students reading comprehension achievement after the implementation of  Mind Mapping technique ((33) = 8.790; p = 0.000, p0.05) Based on the data, it can be concluded that mind mapping technique is worth applying in the teaching –learning of English reading comprehension ability, particularly at the second year students of SMPN 3 Bandar Lampung.Keywords: descriptive text, mind mapping technique, reading comprehension

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana movie scriptdigunakan dalam pembelajaran membaca dan untuk mencari masalah yang ditemukan oleh siswa dan guru. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 40 siswa yang dianalisis secara kualitatif. Data didapatkan melalui dua instrumen yaitu observasi kelas dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat beberapa aktifitas yang aktif dan menarik dalam proses pembelajaran namun terdapat beberapa masalah yang dihadapi oleh siswa dan guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru dapat mengajar siswa secara kreatif dan inovatif sedangkan siswa tertarik untuk mempelajari teks membaca secara berbeda dalam penggunakan movie script sebagai media.This research was conducted to describe how movie script was used in reading text class and to find out the students and teachers problems in using movie script in reading texts. The subject of the reseach was the second grade students numbering of 40 students which were analyzed qualitatively. The data were collected by using two instruments: classroom observation note and questionnaire for the students. The result showed that there were some active and interesting activities in the teaching reading process. There are some problems faced by the students and the teacher in the process of teaching learning. However, it can be concluded that by using movie script as a media, the teacher can teach the students creatively and inovatively while the students are interested to learn reading text differently.Keywords: movie script, reading, teaching media
