Abstract

Tingginya aksi plagiarisme di kalangan akademisi terutama mahasiswa masih marak dilakukan. Celah dan peluang untuk melakukan kecurangan guna menghasilkan sebuah karya ilmiah terus dilakukan dengan berbagai alasan yang mendesak. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan salah satunya memberikan edukasi kepada para mahasiswa melalui pelatihan manajemen referensi menggunakan aplikasi zotero. Tujuannya untuk menganalisis kecenderungan tindakan plagiarisme yang menyebabkan mereka mengabaikan kaidah dan etika serta melatih mereka untuk tertib saat melakukan penulisan sebuah karya ilmiah. Metode yang digunakan berupa sosialisasi dan pelatihan oleh tim pelaksana pengabdian sesuai dengan keahlian bidangnya. Kegiatan dilakukan secara daring selama 3 hari berturut-turut. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa semua peserta pelatihan mengetahui adanya aplikasi manajemen referensi seperti zotero untuk mempermudah penulisan karya ilmiah namun mengabaikannya karena ketidakpahaman dalam penggunaan, informasi yang diperoleh berasal dari sumber bebas, kurangnya keterampilan literasi informasi, serta keterbatasan waktu untuk menyelesaikan menjadi permasalahan utama tindakan plagiarisme dilakukan di kalangan mahasiswa. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan, sebanyak 63,3% peserta merasa kemampuan kognitif dan afektifnya bertambah.

Abstract

Introduction. The establishment of Library Science Schools is expected to prepare professionals in library fields. In fact, there are many graduates who choose non-librarian jobs, therefore, it is necessary to examine their rational choices of the jobs. Research methods. This study uses a qualitative narrative to explore the rational choices of seven informants. Data analysis. Data were analysed by summarizing the results of interviews and sorting them based on the topics and presented in a narrative way. Interviews were conducted from April 2019 to March 2020. Results and Discussion. The non-librarian jobs selected were lecturers, heads of academic division, book editors, finance staff, entrepreneurs, and the drafting and reporting staff. The decisions were made by considering opportunities to learn new things, public recognition, income, and job comfort. This study found that some of the knowledge gained from library sciences (management, communication, marketing, classification, and cataloging) can be applied to non-librarian jobs. Conclusion and suggestions. The choice of non-librarian jobs are selected based on considerations for further learning, social appreciation, salary, and environment. The consequence is to learn new knowledge and skills. The results of this study may be a reference for future research on job selection by using rational theory and motivation theory.

Abstract

Advertising is an effective marketing medium in influencing the target market. In the Ponds advertisement, boxing training and libraries as the content became interesting research objects because there were reactions from the audience of the advertisements which indirectly showed how the perspective of libraries among Z generation. This study used a qualitative approach with a critical paradigm to reveal social representations and realities in Ponds advertisements on television and on YouTube channels. Data collection techniques was used documentation and interviews with 10 Z generation informants who have watched the Pond’s White Beauty Facial Foam ads. Data analysis used Stuart Hall reception analysis to analyze the meanings behind the messages conveyed by the Ponds advertisement. Result and discussion showed that the library was described as unfavorite places among the millennial generation on frame of Ponds advertisement. Social reality was obtained that the millennial generation sees the library as the place to read the books and they do not need to go to the library anymore to read. Furthermore, the Ponds advertisement content gave denotative and connotative meanings at the same time. Understanding of libraries needs to be done so as not to trigger misunderstandings among stakeholders, causing negative stigma and stereotypes. The strategy was rebranding the library with an approach to internal and external aspects. Conclusion, the library rebranding effort is a solution to improve the stigma and stereotypes that develop in society. The effectiveness of the rebranding process is determined by the interaction between stakeholders.

Abstract

In the lyrics to the song "Library of the Streets", Senartogok uses a standard choice of words, which may sound foreign to ordinary people. Like the words sigil, the mask-cutter, the exclamation mark of anxiety, the face of knowledge, the spirit of the tv, and the heart component wire. Words like that will certainly be difficult to understand for ordinary people who rarely hear these words. The purpose of this study was to find out the concept and meaning of the library contained in the lyrics of the song "Library of the Streets" by Senartogok. The research method uses a qualitative approach, as well as data collection through observation and overall observation of the research object, namely the lyrics of the song "Library of the Streets". Descriptive data analysis with Roland Barthes's semiotic theory analysis. The results of the study show that the lyrics of the song Senartogok provides a form of attitude and criticism regarding how the culture of reading nowadays has begun to be pushed aside by instant information media, such as TV and social media, where the street library points directly at reading sources in open spaces. Media, where books can be presented without any restrictions, is a true remedy for human alienation due to technological developments. The street library that was established has provided a unique warmth, such as the combination of urban flow with the excitement of the desire to open space.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the level of loyalty and interest in reading digital books among Diploma 3 students of the FKIP Library of Tanjungpura University and to determine the effect of loyalty on interest in reading digital books among Diploma 3 students of the FKIP Library of Tanjungpura University. This study uses a quantitative approach so that the data collected can be processed specifically. The population in the study amounted to 58 people, namely all active students in the environment of the Diploma 3 Library study program at FKIP Tanjungpura University. The sample was selected using saturated sampling technique or cencus. Data collection in this study was by semi-structured interviews and then followed by distributing questionnaires to the sample. Value measurement on data results using a Likert scale. The validity test used 30 samples using the Pearson Correlation method. The data analysis technique uses the mean formula followed by the grand mean formula from the overall average. While hypothesis testing is done with simple linear regression tests and product moment correlation tests. The research shows the results that iPusnas application user loyalty has a positive and significant impact on interest in reading digital books

Abstract

Infografis digunakan sebagai salah satu media promosi yang digunakan Perpustakaan STIKes Yarsi Pontianak. Dilihat dari jumlah pengunjung per tahunnya, terjadi kenaikan dan penurunan insight pengunjung yang tidak stabil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran infografis sebagai media promosi serta dampak infografis tersebut terhadap perpustakaan dan pemustaka. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik penelitian observasi tidak langsung, penelitian ini melakukan wawancara mendalam kepada 7 informan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, kesimpulan dan validasi, sedangkan uji validitas data dilakukan menggunakan credibility, transferability, dependability, dan confirmability. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1). Proses pembuatan infografis perpustakaan STIKes Yarsi Pontianak menggunakan aspek daya pikat, komprehensi, dan retensi 2). Infografis sebagai media promosi berperan dalam menarik perhatian, minat, keinginan, tindakan pemustaka sesuai dengan konsep AIDA 3). Pandangan pemustaka tehadap infografis tersebut bersifat positif. Dengan demikian, infografis terbukti efektif dalam pemanfaatan perpustakaan sebagai media promosi.Kata kunci: Infografis, Media Promosi, AIDA, Perpustakaan, Desain Visual
