Abstract

Tanaman kacang hijau merupakan jenis tanaman yang termasuk dalam suku polong-polongan (Fabaceae) yang menghasilkan biji yang mengandung banyak karbohidrat dan protein. Di Provinsi Jambi sebagian besar budidaya tanaman kacang hijau dilakukan pada lahan ultisol. Tanah ultisol merupakan jenis tanah miskin kandungan hara makro terutama P, K, Ca, Mg dengan kandungan bahan organik yang rendah. Alternatif yang dapat dilakukan adalah selain menambahkan pupuk anorganik juga dapat dilakukan penambahan bahan organik seperti pupuk kompos ampas tebu. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan satu faktor yaitu dosis pupuk kompos ampas tebu yang terdiri atas 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu tanpa pupuk kompos ampas tebu (p0), 10 ton ha-1 pupuk kompos ampas tebu (p1), 20 ton ha-1 pupuk kompos ampas tebu (p2) dan 30 ton ha-1 pupuk kompos ampas tebu (p3). Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 kali dengan demikian terdapat 24 petakan percobaan. Setiap petakan percobaan terdiri dari 4 tanaman sampel. Untuk melihat pengaruh perlakuan terhadap variabel yang diamati lakukan Uji Anova dan Uji Lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kompos ampas tebu dengan dosis 10 ton ha-1   adalah merupakan dosis terbaik untuk parameter bobot 100, hasil (ton ha-1) dan nilai indeks panen.

Abstract

This research aims to study the effect of shade on leaf morphological characters and yield of two soybean varieties. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Farm Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi. Materials and tools used are 1 unit paranet 50%, soybean seed varieties Petek (shade tolerant) and Variety Jayawijaya (shade sensitive), manure, NPK Pearl, Fungicides and Insecticides. Tools used include field equipment, calipers, Kutek nodes, solatip clear, glass objects, microscopes, analytical scales, tweezers, scissors, and pens. This experiment uses split plot design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor as the main plot is a shade (N), which consists of two levels, namely the auspices of 0% (no shade) and 50% shade. The second factor is the subplot is that soybean varieties, Petek and Jayawijaya. The results showed that the varieties Petek shows consistency as shade tolerant varieties with traits such shows lower leaf thickness, leaf area reduction in the lower and decreased stomatal density lower than the Jayawijaya (sensitive). Treatment shade and treatments varieties also significantly influenced variable leaf area, weight of 100 seeds, but there is no interaction between treatment shade varieties. Meanwhile, the variable thickness of the leaves, stomata density, number of pods per plant, and yield per plant only significantly different to shade treatments. In addition, Petek Variety show consistency with the provision of shade tolerance of 50% of the variable leaf thickness, leaf area and stomatal density compared Jayawijaya varieties (sensitive).Keywords: Soybean, shade, leaf morphological characters.

Abstract

This research purpose is to evaluate the potential of biological diversity, micro climate and carbon uptake at the green area of Jambi University Campus. It’s used purposive random sampling. The result showed that there are 34 type of trees with various diameter. Among the trees there are Dalbergia latifolia, Fagraea fragrans and Palaguium gutta, which is classified to be protected. The green area of Jambi University Campus especially at green strip could decrased the temperature about 2.00 C.Key Words: Carbon, green area, biodiversity.

Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the effect of vermicompost doses on baby corn growth and yield. This experimentwere carried out in randomized block design (RBD) with 5 replicates. Each experiment included 5 treatments 0.0 tons ha-1, 6.0 ton ha-1, 12.0 ton ha-1, 18.0 ton ha-1, and 24.0 ton ha-1. During of study, were measured some of vegetative and reproductive characteristic such as shoot dry weight, number of cobs per plant, cob length, cob diameter and yield. Observational data were statistically analyzed with ANOVA followed Duncan's multiple range test (DNMRT). The results showed that there were significant differences between vermicompost doses and most of characteristics such as shoot dry weight, number of cobs, cob length, cob diameter and the baby corn yield. The highest baby corn yield was achived at dose 18 tons of vermicompost per hectare.   Key words : cobs, baby, corn, vermicompost.

Abstract

The research investigated the influence of four isolates of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF) on the growth of duku seedlings. The research used randomized block design with onefactor of some isolates AMF: Glomus-sp 3, 6, 15, and 16 at a dose of 20 g per polybag. The resultsshowed that inoculation of AMF isolates increase the canopy and root growth of the dukuseedlings. Duku seedlings inoculated with mycorrhiza showed higher plant height, stem diameter,dry weight, secondary roots number and length, than the control. Furthermore, mycorrhizalinoculation increased the absorption of nutrients (Phosphor) in the leaves of duku seedlings. Rootstaining results showed that AMF colonization in the duku roots only indicate hyphae; the otherstructures (vesicles, arbuscular and spores) were not detected.

Abstract

Oil palm is one of the most important plantation crops in the plantation sector in Indonesia. Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is a vegetable oil-producing plant in the form of Crude Palm Oil (CPO). CPO productivity is very much determined by quality and productive seeds. Oil palm (Elaeis guineenses Jacq) is a vegetable oil-producing plant which produce Crude Palm Oil (CPO). This study aims to determine the response of oil palm seedling growth to the provision of solid food containers and phosphate fertilizers at various doses in the main nursery. This research was conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, Mendalo Indah, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency. This research was conducted for 3 months from September to December 2019. Design of the experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with one factor, the application of various solid decanter compositions consisting of 6 treatments levels : p0= fertilizer NPKMg 44g/polybag; p1=decanter solid 140 g + 13 g (TSP) / polybag; p2=decanter solid 240 g + 13 g (TSP) / polybag; p3 = decanter solid 340 g + 13 g (TSP)/polybag; p4 = decanter solid 440 g + 13 g (TSP)/polybag; and p5 = decanter solid 540 g + 13 g (TSP) / polybag. Variables observed were  plant height,  number of leaves, stem diameter, total leaf area, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, and root shoot ratio. The results showed that giving solid decanter at various doses was able to increase growth  in all observed variables and was able to sow seedling growth at recommended fertilization doses. The application of solid decanter 140 g + 13 g (TSP) is the best dose to increase the seed height variable and able to exceed the  seed height at the recommended dose of fertilizing oil palm seedlings in the main nursery.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the growth of I. cylindricaweed after cutting at various density conditions so that it can be determined the interval of precise control mechanically in the pipeline PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. The research was conducted by making random sample plots in various conditions of I. cylindrica population density. There were three population densities of I. cylindricaobserved, namely dense,mediun and rare. The results showed that height,  number of tillers and dry weight of I. cylindrica were higher in dense and medium population densities than rare population densities. There is a shift in the dominant weed species in each condition of population density after cutting. The community of vegetation before and after cuttingat dense population density was classified as homogeneous with C value of 78.05%, while at medium and rare population density it wasclassifiedas heterogeneous with  C value of < 75%.Keywords:Imperata cylindrica, growth of weed, population density, species shift

Abstract

One of the efforts to make efficient use of yard is by planting with plants that are used to meet the needs of themselves and the needs of others. In addition, to make efficient use of land and yard will be well maintained, beautiful and also increase household income. In Teratai village, Muara Bulian sub-district, there is agroindustry based on farmer group which has the healthy drink with the red ginger raw material. They produce these healthy drinks by using raw materials ordered from other regions. This makes agroindustry highly dependent on the supply of others to meet the needs of these raw materials. In this devotional activity carried out demonstration area on the farmyard yard where the Team Dedication as a companion. Through demonstration the farmers' area gets direct guidance from the Community Services Team, seeing and practicing every material given in accordance with the stages of plant development. In this way, it is expected to transfer knowledge and technology effectively from universities to the community. Thus, it is expected to increase the knowledge and skills of farmers in the cultivation of red ginger plants as yard plants, especially ginger farmers in the village of Teratai and generally red ginger farmers in Muara Jambi Regency.

Abstract

Abstract Pondok Pesantren is an Islamic school that focuses on Islamic religious education, especially Al-Quran education. Drinking water that is healthy and fit for consumption will be an essential factor in increasing the concentration and ability of the students in understanding the knowledge. This service program aims to provide a drinking water treatment technology with a multilevel filtration method that will produce healthy and potable water for students and boarding school administrators. The products from this project are drinking water treatment technology and drinking water that is healthy and fit for consumption for students and boarding school administrators. The existence of drinking water technology supposed to generate additional income for the boarding school. Abstrak Pondok Pesantren adalah sekolah islam yang berfokus pada pendidikan agama Islam khususnya pendidikan Al Qur’an. Air minum yang sehat dan layak dikonsumsi akan menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam meningkatkan konsentrasi dan kemampuan santri dalam memahami ilmu yang diajarkan. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan suatu teknologi pengolahan air minum dengan metode filtrasi bertingkat yang akan menghasilkan air yang sehat dan layak minum bagi santri dan para pengurus pondok pesantren. Produk yang dihasilkan dari pengabdian ini ialah teknologi pengolahan air minum serta air minum yang sehat dan layak dikonsumsi bagi santri dan pengurus pondok pesantren.Adanya pengolahan air minum ini juga diharapkan dapat menghasilkan tambahan income bagi pondok pesantren.
