Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using interactive compensatory model (ICM)-based integrated thematic learning tools to improve students’ reading comprehension of information text comprehension for fifth grade elementary school. This research was conducted in three stages. The first phase of the preliminary study included a literature study, field surveys and expert-validated initial product preparation. The second stage of development included limited trials and extensive trials through experimental methods. The third stage was product testing and socialization of the results to try out its efficacy. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires and test (pre-test and post-test). This study used a sample of 504 grade fifth students in 12 elementary schools in Bandung Regency. The results of this study indicate that the use of ICM-based integrated thematic learning tools has a significant effect on students’ improvement for reading comprehension on information text for fifth grade elementary school. This is evidenced by the difference in students’ reading comprehension ability before and after learning using ICM-based integrated thematic learning tools. This research has implications for the ease with which teachers can achieve learning objectives with the support of teaching materials, media, worksheets and interesting and practical activities that can stimulate students to improve their reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Pasta pembersih sepatu (PAPEPA) merupakan produk yang berguna untuk membersihkan sepatu dengan jenis sneakers. Papepa dipasarkan sejak tahun 2018, diperlukan evaluasi produk yang didasarkan pada keinginan konsumen. Dikarenakan konsumen merupakan penunjang utama berjalannya suatu usaha. Oleh karena itu maka perlu dilakukannya survey kepuasan konsumen terhadap produk papepa. Konsumen yang merasa puas terhadap suatu produk akan menguntungkan penjual dikarenakan pembeli akan membeli kembali produk tersebut serta secara sukarela akan mempromosikannya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode survey dengan responden sebanyak 100 orang yang mengisi kuesioner yang telah disediakan. Instrument penelitian merujuk pada dimensi kepuasan pelanggan yang dikemukakan oleh Tjiptono (2014). Hasil survey menyatakan bahwa sebanyak 81% responden menyatakan sangat puas terhadap produk papepa serta 19% menyatakan puas. Pada setiap indikator, hasil survey rata-rata berada pada kategori sangat puas. Solusi yang dapat diberikan sebagai bahan evaluasi produk yaitu pertama konsistensi komposisi pada setiap tube hendaknya ditetapkan sehingga kualitas produk setiap tube sama. Kedua yaitu hendaknya produk dipasarkan diberbagai market place sehingga konsumen lebih mudah membeli produk papepa.Kata Kunci: sepatu, pembersih, kepuasan konsumen ABSTRACT Shoe cleaning paste (PAPEPA) is a product that is useful for cleaning sneakers with types of sneakers. Papepa has been marketed since 2018, a product evaluation is required based on consumer desires. Because consumers are the main support for the running of a business. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a consumer satisfaction survey of Papepa products. Consumers who are satisfied with a product will benefit the seller because the buyer will buy back the product and will voluntarily promote it. The method used is a survey method with 100 respondents who filled out the questionnaire provided. The research instrument refers to the dimensions of customer satisfaction suggested by Tjiptono (2014). The survey results stated that as many as 81% of respondents said they were very satisfied with papepa products and 19% said they were satisfied. For each indicator, the average survey results are in the very satisfied category. The solution that can be given as material for product evaluation is first the consistency of the composition for each tube should be determined so that the product quality for each tube is the same. Second, the product should be marketed in various market places so that consumers will find it easier to buy Papepa products.Keywords: shoes, cleaning, satisfaction consumer

Abstract

People currently live in a modern and technological era, as a result, the local wisdom of an area is starting to erode. Even though there are many values   contained in local wisdom that can be adopted and applied in an educational process. This article aims to describe comprehensively the results of the analysis of pamali soy sauce in the perspective of the people of Kampung Naga. In addition, this article discusses the ecological value contained in kecap pamali and the possibility of its culture in elementary school education. The method used is literature review and field study in the form of interviews and observations. The observations were made to see the behavior of the people of Kampung Naga related to kecap pamali.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya konsumsi junk food akibat maraknya restoran fast food. Tujuan penelitian adalah menggali persepsi orang tua mengenai junk food dan dampaknya terhadap kesehatan, fungsi kognitif, dan masalah perilaku anak, serta memperoleh gambaran upaya yang dilakukan orang tua untuk mengurangi dampak junk food. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga orang ibu dari anak berusia 3-6 tahun yang sering mengonsumsi junk food. Pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian menunjukan bahwa konsumsi junk food pada anak cukup tinggi, yaitu 5-10 kali perminggu. Persepsi orang tua mengenai dampak junk food terhadap kesehatan adalah mengakibatkan penyakit infeksi seperti diare dan ISPA, juga gigi berlubang. Dampak terhadap fungsi kognitif adalah gangguan memori dan kesulitan berkonsentrasi. Sedangkan dampak terhadap masalah perilaku adalah munculnya gejala perilaku hiperaktivitas. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan orangtua untuk mengurangi dampak junk food, diantaranya memberikan makanan berserat, membiasakan anak untuk beraktivitas fisik, dan membatasi konsumsi junk food.

Abstract

This research is based on the most fundamental problem in teaching young learners, especially in preschool, which is the tendency of the children’s behavior within each other in the learning process that leads to abuse. One of the offered solutions to address abuse is to provide preventive act through Cognitive-Behavior Counselling activities with Assertive Training Technique. The aim of this research is to conduct cognitive-behavior counselling activities with assertive training technique in way that is correct, tested and comprehensive to address child abuse. The research was conducted by applying quasi experimental method in the year of. 2015 – 2016 in Bandung District. The subject of the research was group B students of Al Muqoddasah Preschool Bandung District. The result shows that: (1) the forms of child abuse consist of physical, verbal and relational abuse; (2) cognitive-behavior counselling activities with assertive training technique to address abuse are considered appropriate to implement by experts; and (3) there is a significant impact of cognitive-behavior counselling activities in minimize child abuse.

Abstract

This research based upon the rise of violence at children either physical, social, emotional, sexual, and ignorance form. Ironically, the early-childhood institutions that must be saved from violence action, showing symptom of this behavior. Based on that problem, this research analyzes the type of violence on children and the underlying factors, especially in early-childhood institutions. This research using a study case method and the subject of this research are two teachers and four student of early-childhood institutions in Bandung and East Bandung. The time to this research began at July until September 2016. The result from this research expected to generate the valid data that can be useful to prevent or handle the problem of violence at early-childhood institutions or the next level of educations. Besides that, this result can be used by the academics-practitioners in build a model or guidance of educations that can reduce the violence against children. For institution, this research can be used for developing the training or workshop in order to help institutions of educations or the government to prevent violence actions against children. Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis effect size (ES) dari circuit learning model terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik meta-analisis hasil publikasi penelitian ilmiah pada e-jurnal Nasional dan Internasional yang berkaitan dengan penerapan circuit learning model terhadap ketermapilan menulis siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah delapan artikel ilmian yang terbit di jurnal Nasional dan Prosiding Internasional. Hasil pengolahan data mengggunakan aplikasi JASP menunjukkan nilai sig (0.001) α(0.05) maka Ho ditolak, artinya nilai rerata ES lebih besar dari kriteria ketuntasan minimal (80). Kesimpulannya penerapan model circuit learning memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Rekomendasi penelitian ini bahwa model circuit learning dapat dijadikan alternatif pembelajaran oleh guru dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswanya.AbstractThis study aims to analyze the effect size (ES) of the circuit learning model on students' writing skills. The research method uses a quantitative approach with meta-analysis techniques of the results of scientific research publications in National and International e-journals related to the application of circuit learning models to students' writing skills. The sample in this study were eight scientific articles published in National journals and International Proceedings. The results of data processing using the JASP application show the sig value (0.001) α(0.05) then Ho is rejected, meaning that the mean value of ES is greater than the minimum completeness criteria (80). In conclusion, the application of the circuit learning model has a significant effect in improving students' writing skills. The recommendation of this research is that the circuit learning model can be used as an alternative learning by teachers in improving the writing skills of their students.

Abstract

The habit of writing and reading in Indonesian society is still very low or not fully developed. In the interest of realizing a generation who likes to read, surely what must be grown first is the interest in reading in each individual. This problem encourages teachers to be able to provide optimal stimulus in fostering interest in reading in student from an early age while still prioritizing child-centered learning. This research implemented a jigsaw cooperative learning model. The research design used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which includes two research cycles. The results second cycle show that 87% of student managed to reach the good category. Research using the Jigsaw Cooperative learning model on student's reading interest showed a significant increase. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model can increase student's reading interest.

Abstract

Abstract: Study aims to determine the effectiveness of methods with gardening activities to the skills of early childhood science process. The method used is Quasi Eksperimen with the design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design study. This research was conducted on group B in Kartika Siliwangi XIX-I Kindergarten and Pelita Bunda Gegerkalong Kindergarten Bandung with 15 experimental group and 15 control group. The research data was obtained using research instrument in the form of non-formal interview and observation guidance of science process skill of children aged 5-6 years. Based on the results of the research, the initial conditions in the experimental group showed that children with low science process skills were 67%, while in the control group were 60%. Implementation of science learning using gardening activities in improving the science process skills of kindergarten children group B developed well. This can be seen from the results of the study on the learning process recorded for the experimental group as much as 97% and in the control group as much as 85%. Recommendations submitted to Kindergarten Teachers who will conduct science-based learning of the science process should be created a whole learning scenario that illustrates clear instructions on the steps of children's learning activities sequentially from beginning to end. For the next researcher, the result of this research can be used as the starting point to develop the learning process of children science skill of kindergarten, and for the school party, it is better to start using learning science process skill in school by adding media that can support learning, facilities and infrastructure to support the success of process skill science in school.Keywords: Skills Process of Science, Gardening Activities, Kindergarten Children

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to examine the relationship between welfare and professional competence of PAUD teachers based on educational background in Kiaracondong Sub-district. The method used is a correlational method with data collection using a questionnaire, and data analysis using bivariate statistical methods with the help of SPSS.  The research subjects in this study were 60 PAUD teachers in Kiaracondong sub-district. Based on the results of the study, the welfare of teachers from high school background, D1-S1 Non PAUD, and D1-S1 PAUD is classified as moderate, while the overall professional competence of these teachers is classified as high. Based on the calculation, it can be concluded that teacher welfare and professional competence are influenced by high school education background by 18.41%, while 81.59% is influenced by other factors not studied. The educational background of D1-S1 Non PAUD has an influence of 73.28%, while the educational background of D1-S1 PAUD has a low influence of 1.49%. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers pay attention to the educational background set by the government to achieve welfare and improve professional competence in teaching activities. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode korelasional dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, serta analisis data menggunakan metode statistik bivariat dengan bantuan SPSS.  Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah 60 guru PAUD yang berada di kecamatan kiaracondong. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kesejahteraan guru dari latar belakang SMA, D1-S1 Non PAUD, dan D1-S1 PAUD tergolong sedang, sementara kompetensi profesional guru secara keseluruhan tersebut tergolong tinggi. Berdasarkan perhitungan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kesejahteraan guru dan kompetensi profesional dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang pendidikan SMA/Sederajat sebesar 18,41%, sementara 81,59% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti. Latar belakang pendidikan D1-S1 Non PAUD memiliki pengaruh sebesar 73,28%, sedangkan latar belakang pendidikan D1-S1 PAUD memiliki pengaruh yang rendah sebesar 1,49%. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar para guru memperhatikan latar belakang pendidikan yang telah ditetapkan oleh pemerintah untuk mencapai kesejahteraan dan meningkatkan kompetensi profesional dalam kegiatan mengajar.Kata kunci: Kesejahteraan; Kompetensi Profesional; Latar Belakang Pendidikan
