Abstract

“Udayana Mengabdi” a community service program that was initiated by the Udayana University, where the program is implemented at Banjar Tangkas with a population of 157 households or approximately 588 peoples. Almost all the people there can enjoy clean water. The distribution using the hydraulic ram to lift water from the source of a very steep topography, so the water distribution system constraints can be overcome. Based on the orientation and discussion in the field, obtained a description that people still have difficulty in obtaining information on the hydraulic ram, particularly in terms of maintenance and repair. To overcome this problem, was conducted the technical guidance regarding maintenance and repairs to community groups. Physically, the results of this activity can be seen in the form of making a safety lid springs are made of concrete slab, the objective is for durability and protect it from the leaves of trees. In addition, other results are in the form of a storage warehouse of spare parts pumps, in order to easily maintenance and repair.

Abstract

Prinsip utama mengelola sampah mulai dari sumbernya adalah Mengurangi, Memakai Ulang dan Mendaur Ulang, atau sering disebut Reduce, Reuse dan Recycle disingkat 3R melalui tiga langkah ini akan mampu mengurangi jumlah sampah yang dibuang ke TPA (Tempat Pengolahan Akhir). Bali merupakan pintu gerbang pariwisata Indonesia, menjadi sorotan dunia bagaimana mengelola sampah. Pengelolaan sampah yang kurang baik dapat memberikan pengaruh negatif bagi kesehatan, lingkungan, maupun bagi kehidupan sosial ekonomi dan budaya masyarakat. Produksi sampah di TPA perhari rata-rata adalah 120 m3/hari atau sekitar 18,26 ton/hari, sampah plastik mencapai rata-rata 22,6 %, yang bisa didaur ulang sekitar 17%. Jadi sampah plastik yang bisa untuk didaur ulang adalah 3,1 ton/hari, ini merupakan potensi bisnis yang sangat potensial. Masyarakat harus diberikan insentif dalam memilah sampah organik dan anorganik karena jika tidak memberikan nilai tambah kepada masyarakat akan sulit mengajak masyarakat dalam berpartisifasi mengelola sampah, dilakukan pelatihan, pengenalan dan meningkatkan kemampuan pengelolaan mesin pencacah sampah plastik sehingga masyarakat berminat dalam memilah sampah-sampah itu. Sampah plastik yang terpilah dijual ke pencacah plastik di Kediri Tabanan.

Abstract

Banjar Kaja-Kauh desa Sudaji yang terletak diperbukitan, yang berpenduduk 231 kepala keluarga (1.155 jiwa). Warga banjar ini telah dapat menikmati sistem air bersih sejak tahun 2015 berkat bantuan rotary international. Mengingat topografi wilayah banjar Kaja-Kauh ini sangat terjal maka distribusi air dari reservoar ke perumahan penduduk tidak merata. Penduduk yang rumahnya terletak di lokasi yang rendah mendapatkan air dengan tekanan yang tinggi bahkan pipanya sampai pecah sedangkan yang berada di bagian atas kesulitan mendapatkan air. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut maka distribusi air di banjar Kaja-Kauh di bagi menjadi tiga zone, yaitu zone-Atas, zone-Tengah, dan zone-Bawah. Di zone bawah (beda elevasi lebih tinggi dari 80 meter) dipasang satu tangki pelepas tekan sehingga pipa distribusi pada daerah tersebut tidak pecah. Tangki pelepas tekan tersebut telah memberi manfaat yaitu dapat mengurangi tekanan air berlebih/tinggi di zona bawah yang dapat memecahkan pipa dan merusak kran sambungan rumah. Disamping itu sistem tangki pelepas tekan tersebut dapat membuat distribusi aliran air lebih merata terutama aliran air untuk zona atas dan tengah menjadi lebih baik dan lancar.

Abstract

This paper investigated the effect of the mass of the waste valve of hydraulic ram pump which has been designed and installed to deliver the clean water to the community house in the Munduk Gunung area, Petang Village. Public facilities are still minimal. One of them is the unavailability of clean water service facilities for the community, where people still rely on rainwater or buy water tanks. In accordance with the name of the area, this residential area is located in the highlands (512 m.swl), while the available water sources are in the lowlands (410 m.swl) with an elevation difference of 102 meters. The distance from the spring to the reservoir is 600 meters through a steep cliff. Initial survey results show that the spring has a flow capacity of about 3 liters/second and a potential head of 4.5 meters. The hydraulic ram pump has been designed, built, installed and operated with funding supported through the PNBP service grant from Udayana University, the PUMA scheme. The hydraulic ram pump performance test has been carried out on five variations of the waste valve mass. Performance testing shows that this hydraulic ram pump reaches its optimal performance at a mass of 3.25 kg of waste valve. Under these optimal conditions, this hydraulic ram pump operates at a total efficiency of 95% with a pumping flow of 0.115 lt/sec or 9.94 m3/day) at a pumping elevation of 102 meters, with an economic value of up to Rp. 17,885,000 per month. Therefore, it is with an investment cost of around Rp. 42,500,000 and requires almost no operational costs because it does not require fuel or electrical energy, consequently this hydram pump is very profitable to apply. Abstract

This paper examined the performance of the hydraulic ram pump that has been designed and installed to meet the clean water needs of the 'Bon Belok Kopi' Business Group and several families of Bon traditional community in Belok/Sidan Village, Petang District, Badung Regency, Bali Province. This business group is shortage to clean water in the process of processing their coffee production so that the community relies on rainwater and buys water from tank cars at a price of sixty thousand rupiah per cubic meter. Likewise, the Bon traditional community experienced the same problem, especially for their traditional activities. This problem has an impact on the capacity, quality and cost of coffee production of the business group, as well as the cleanliness, health and economy of the Bon traditional community. In the Bon area, there is a spring in the garden area belonging to the head of the business group with a flow rate of 3 liters/second at an elevation of 1024 m.swl, while residential areas are located at an elevation of 1135 m.swl. The hydraulic ram pump has been designed, built, installed and operated. The hydraulic ram pump performance test has been carried out on five variations of the pumping head. At a pumping head of 70 m, at the location of coffee processing, it produces a pumping flow of 8.84 m3/day with the pump efficiency of 71%. Meanwhile, at the highest pumping head of 110 m, at Puncak Bon Temple, it produces a pumping discharge of 5.04 m3/day with the pump efficiency of 59%.
