Abstract

Hearing impaired students generally study with other students who have the same special need in special schools called Sekolah Luar Biasa B (SLB B). However, inclusive education which enables students with special need to study in the same classes with normal students has been developing rapidly in recent years in Indonesia. This study aimed at investigating the social adjustment of hearing impaired students who study with normal students in a general school. A qualitative approach with case study method was employed. Participants of the study were three hearing impaired students and three significant others of each student who were their parents, teachers dan close friends. Data were analysed using a thematic analysis. This study found that participants socially adjusted in effective ways during their studies with normal students in the general school. Abstrak: Siswa tuna rungu pada umumnya belajar dengan siswa lain yang memiliki kebutuhan khusus serupa di sekolah-sekolah khusus yang disebut Sekolah Luar Biasa B (SLB B). Namun pendidikan inklusif yang memungkinkan siswa dengan kebutuhan khusus untuk belajar di kelas yang sama dengan siswa normal telah berkembang pesat dalam beberapa tahun terakhir di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penyesuaian sosial siswa tuna rungu yang belajar dengan siswa normal di sekolah umum. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Partisipan penelitian adalah tiga siswa tuna rungu dan tiga orang lain yang signifikan bagi setiap siswa, yakni orang tua mereka, guru dan teman dekat mereka. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Studi ini menemukan bahwa partisipan menyesuaikan diri dengan cara-cara yang efektif selama masa studi mereka dengan siswa normal di sekolah umum.

Abstract

Career adaptation is important for individuals, especially for individuals who are preparing for a future career. The purpose of this study is to describe the career adaptation of marine cadets and discuss the factors supporting the adaptation of marine cadet careers. Research respondents were marine education cadets in Surabaya, Indonesia. Data analysis used content analysis. Marine cadets that show the four dimensions of career adaptation are 58%. In addition, the results of the study showed that the highest supporting factors for career adaptation were parents, and the biggest inhibiting was the cadets themselves. Cadets feel irritable, bored, and feel don't have enough time to study. Cadets also feel the demands of high duties during education. Further research is needed related to internal and external factors that affect career adaptability.

Abstract

Issues pertaining to career often arise during higher education period. Common problems during such period of career development include choosing, deciding, and maintaining a career, including maintaining one’s choice of career. The aim of this study is to describe the career adaptability of shipping cadets. Participants are shipping cadets from a private university in Surabaya, Indonesia. Data was collected using an Indonesian version of Career Adaptability scale (CAAS). Result provides description on cadets’ career adaptability, as follows: 8% was categorized as “low”, 23.2% “moderate”, and 76% “high”. Comparison of standard deviations shows that the career adaptability of shipping cadets had low variation. Percentages of each indicator are as follows: the indicator of “concern” ranked first (26.41%), “control” at second (25.85%), “confidence” at third (24.24%), and “curiosity” at fourth (23.47%). It shows that all indicators of career adaptability among shipping cadets played roles in shaping career adaptability and have balanced similarities.

Abstract

Scale adaptation in different cultures is needed to ensure that the scale measures the intended target. The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) has been adopted in several countries, but no Indonesian language adaptation has been made so far. This study aims to test the construct validity of the Indonesian MSPSS that measures one’s level of social support. Rasch analysis was used to examine the psychometric properties of the scale. The subject in this study was 495 Indonesian marine cadets with an average age of 19.32 (41% Engineering, 52.7% Nautical, and 5.5% Electro). In terms of gender, 94.3% were male and 5.7% female. Findings from the Rasch analysis support the one-dimensionality of the 12-items MSPSS in measuring marine cadets’ level of social support. This finding differs from similar MSPSS studies that show the scale’s structure to be multidimensional. The 12-items MSPSS showed excellent internal consistency (person-item interaction index = .85) and fulfilled all the Rasch model requirements. No item misfit was detected from the MNSQ score (.5 < MNSQ < 1.5). Also, there was no item bias based on gender was detected from the scale (.0949 - .9687) > .05. Future studies are advised to test the scale with different samples to further confirm this study’s findings.

Abstract

Berbagai studi menunjukkan bahwa situasi pandemi menyebabkan berbagai tekanan psikologis bagi individu. Situasi ini tentu menuntut mahasiswa semester akhir untuk dapat beradaptasi berbagai tekanan dalam menyiapkan karier masa depan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan optimism dengan career adaptability mahasiswa selama pandemic Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian survei. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala career adaptability (24 aitem, α = 0,967) dan skala optimisme (7 aitem, α= 0.920). Jumlah subjek dalam penelitian adalah 157 mahasiswa tingkat akhir (laki-laki = 36,9%; perempuan = 63.1%), mean usia= 22.45. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Teknik analisa data menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman’s Rho. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara optimism dengan career adaptability mahasiswa selama pandemic Covid-19, r (157) = 0,73; p<0,01. Hal ini berarti tinggi rendahnya career adaptability pada mahasiswa selama pandemic Covid-19 ditentukan oleh tinggi rendahnya optimism yang dimiliki mahasiswa. Hasil perhitungan perdimensi career adaptability menunjukkan career concern r(157) =0,64; p<0,01; career control r (157) =0,69; p<0,01; career curiosity r(157) = 0,66; p<0,01; career confidence r (157) = 0,63; p<0,01. Hal ini berarti tinggi rendahnya optimism yang dimiliki mahasiswa berkorelasi dengan kepedulian akan karier masa depan, kemampuan mengendalikan karier masa depan, rasa ingin tahu tentang karier masa depan dan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengantisipasi tentang keberhasilan dalam menghadapi berbagai hambatan dan mengatasi tantangan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai referensi dalam mengatasi persoalan terkait career adaptability mahasiswa selama pandemic Covid-19.

Abstract

Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis emotional indicators penyandang autis di Surabaya. Autis merupakan salah satu kelompok gangguan perkembangan neurobiologis pada anak-anak dan tergolong gangguan perkembangan yang berat, pervasif, dan berjangka panjang, yang dapat mempengaruhi beberapa aspek perkembangan. Gangguan emosi yang muncul sebagai gangguan penyerta pada penyandang autis, dapat membuat terhambatnya aspek perkembangan yang lain, yaitu kemampuan interaksi sosial, komunikasi, dan perilaku penyandang autis. Jenis gangguan emosi dapat diketahui melalui identifikasi emotional indicators melalui instrumen tes Bender Gestalt. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan teknik jenuh, dimana peneliti menggunakan seluruh populasi yang ada di salah satu lembaga autism di Surabaya, sebanyak 50 orang. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan tes Bender Gestalt yang diadministrasikan secara individual. Metode analisa data menggunakan pedoman Bender skoring system dengan fokus analisis adalah pada skoring emotional indicators. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa emotional indicators yang teridentifikasi dominan ditemukan pada penyandang autis antara lain dashes subtitute for circle, wavy lines, careless overwork, confused order, small size, dan large size.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significant influence between career counseling services and self efficacy on career maturity of students of the Indo Baruna cruise. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey research method, Using multiple regression analysis technique. Collecting data using questionnaire compiled using Likert scale, with details of career maturity scale of 48 items, 40 career advisory service scores, and self-efficacy scale of 36 items. The number of subjects in this study were 98 students from class X and class XI. The sampling technique in this research is with a saturated sampling technique. The results showed that the hypothesis that there was a significant influence between career guidance services and self efficacy at Indo Baruna cruise Surabaya accepted, with a 20.2% contribution. The first minor hypothesis was received by a contribution of 17.1%. The second minor hypothesis there was a significant influence between self efficacy on career maturity of studentsof Indo Indouna cruise received, with 8.8% contribution.

Abstract

Parents who had special dissability child especially cerebral palsy should have positive attitude to the child, so the child could grow optimally. Parents perception to child ability and social support that the parents receive will affect the parents in accepting the child. The aim of this research is to find out the correlation between parents perception towards the child ability and social support with parents acceptance to cerebral palsy child in East Java YPAC. The sample of this research is parents who had cerebral palsy child in East Java YPAC with total data received fifty-three parents. The technique of the data collection use a likert scale. Based on the data analysis result between parents perception towards the child ability and social support with parents acceptance to cerebral palsy child in East Java YPAC result the r 0, 528 to significance level (p) 0,000 (p is less than 0,05). So the submitted hypothesis mention that there is correlation between parents perception towards the child ability and social support with parents acceptance to cerebral palsy child in East Java YPAC is accepted.

Abstract

The current study examined the relationship between career self-efficacy and family support with with career adaptability indepedenly among students of SMAN 1 Pandaan. The number of respondents was 206 students of twelve grade SMAN 1 Pandaan, recruited through nonprobability sampling. The measuring instrument were CAAS (Career Adapt Adaptability Scale), Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy Scale (Indonesia Version) and family support scale from House and Khan. Data were analyzed using multiple correlation techniques. The results of the study show that there is a relationship between career self-efficacy and career adaptability of class XII students of SMAN 1 Pandaan, the direction of the relationship is positive. Other results show that there is no relationship between family support and career adaptability for class XII students of SMAN 1 Pandaan.
