Abstract

The Liwa Botanical Garden is one of the new botanical gardens in the Southern Sumatra. Data accuracy is needed in supporting the function of the Liwa Botanical Garden as an ex-situ conservation center. This study aims to obtain data on the diversity of fruit trees in the Liwa Botanical Garden. The inventory results show there are 12 tribes and 15 species of fruit trees, with a total of 572 specimens. The predominant genus is Myrtaceae (46%) and the species most commonly found is Psidium guava L. (25%). Kebun Raya Liwa adalah salah satu kebun raya baru di kawasan Sumatera Bagian Selatan. Akurasi data diperlukan dalam menunjang fungsi Kebun Raya Liwa sebagai pusat konservasi ex-situ. Studi ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data keanekaragaman tanaman buah di kawasan taman buah Kebun Raya Liwa. Hasil inventarisasi menunjukkan terdapat 12 suku dan 15 jenis tanaman buah, dengan total keseluruhan mencapai 572 spesimen. Suku yang mendominasi adalah Myrtaceae (46%) dan jenis yang banyak ditemukan adalah Psidium gujava L. (25%).

Abstract

Era new-normal yang masih berlangsung setelah Pandemi covid-19 melanda Indonesia telah memberi dampak dalam gaya hidup dan kebiasaan di dalam masyarakat. Salah satu trend yang lazim ditemukan di dalam masyarakat terutama masyarakat perkotaan yaitu berkebun di rumah dengan konsep urban farming. Konsep urban farming semakin diminati seiring dengan kebutuhan akan gaya hidup sehat. Microgreens adalah salah satu alternatif urban farming yang populer belakangan ini. Penanaman microgreens tergolong mudah, murah, dan kaya nutrisi, sangat bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan sistem imun dan gizi masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan cara penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menghasilkan simpulan bahwa peserta komunitas WES (Women and Environmental Studies) Kota Metro telah dapat meningkatkan wawasannya terkait microgreens. Dengan demikian, diharapkan peserta dapat mengaplikasikan keterampilan menanam microgreens yang akan berdampak pada peningkatan gaya hidup sehat serta penguatan ketahanan pangan keluarga. Harapannya, keterampilan menanam microgreens dengan konsep urban farming ini dapat diadopsi oleh lingkungan sekitar sehingga semakin banyak rumah tangga yang menanam dan mendapatkan manfaat dari microgreens.

Abstract

Curly red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is widely used as industrial raw material because it has a spicy taste. The increasing demand for chili is not balanced with the level of production. Chilies are susceptible to disease, one of which is fusarium wilt. The magnetic field affected the physical and chemical properties of water so that it increased peroxidase enzyme activity and plant metabolism. This research was aim to know the protective effect seeds induced by 0.2 mT Magnetic Fiel had given to red curly chili (Capsicum annuum L.) sprouts to Fusarium oxysporum infection. This study was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments consisting of M0F0 (control), M7F0, M7F60, M15F0, M15F60. M0 is a seed not induced by a magnetic field; M7 is seed induced by magnetic field 7 minutes 48 seconds, M15 is seed induced by magnetic field 15 minutes 36 seconds, F0 is sprouted not infected with F. oxysporum and F60 is sprouts infected with F. oxysporum for 60 minutes. Each unit is repeated 5 times. The results of the ANOVA showed that exposure to a magnetic field had a significant effect on increasing plant height at 21, 28, and 35 days after planting (HST); the wet and dry weight of 7 days old plants; and the content of chlorophyll a, b, and total before flowering 21 days after planting. Overall, the 0.2 mT magnetic field treatment for 7 minutes 48 seconds tended to give better results to increase the growth of chili plants against F. oxysporum infection.

Abstract

Science learning at the elementary school level must emphasize learning experiences that can train students' basic science process skills. The teacher as a facilitator is required to be able to create science learning that can practice these skills. Therefore, this training aims to train teachers to make student worksheets (LKS) that can stimulate students' basic science process skills with the experimental learning method. Participants are elementary school teachers at al-Karim Lampung. Based on the results of preliminary observations through the pretest, it is known that teachers' prior knowledge of science process skills and experimental learning at the primary school level is still low. A total of 46.15% of participants answered with an accuracy ≤ of 50%. Pretests are carried out through the Quizizz platform which aims to encourage teachers to utilize technology in learning. The training was carried out by lecturing on the importance of training students' science process skills and making worksheets based on basic science process skills in the experimental learning method. The results of the evaluation show that the participants are motivated to create learning based on students' science process skills.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi asam salisilat terhadap kandungan klorofil dan karakteristik planlet anggrek Dendrobium secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan asam salisilat konsentrasi 0 ppm, 25 ppm, 50 ppm, 75 ppm, dan 100 ppm sebanyak 5 ulangan setiap konsentrasi. Data hasil penelitian diuji menggunakan Analisis Ragam pada taraf 5% dan uji lanjut Tukey pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh asam salisilat terhadap planlet anggrek Dendrobium pada konsentrasi 75 ppm dan 100 ppm terhadap indeks stomata, analisis klorofil a,b, dan total, dimana konsentrasi 75 ppm memiliki indeks stomata tertinggi. Dan pada analisis klorofil, semakin tinggi konsentrasi asam salisilat yang diinduksikan, semakin meningkat kandungan klorofil pada planlet anggrek Dendrobium. Sedangkan pada konsentrasi 25, dan 50 ppm tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap indeks stomata, dan analisis klorofil planlet anggrek Dendrobium.Kata Kunci: Anggrek Dendrobium, indeks stomata, klorofil.

Abstract

−Eggshells are one of the organic waste that is commonly found and comes from households. Based on observations in the field, people generally have not done waste management properly such as separating organic and inorganic waste. However, the utilization of household waste in the form of eggshells has not been widely done by the community. The solution to overcome this problem is to conduct training for the community to utilize waste in the form of eggshells to be used both for nurseries and further processing as organic fertilizer to increase plant growth. The desired expectation in the implementation of this service is an increase in skills and knowledge in making organic fertilizer from eggshells. There was an increase in knowledge and skills of the service participants with a pretest score of 55.88 and post-test to 90.00. There was an increase in value of 34.12. The percentage increase in value is 62.86%.

Abstract

Sampah organik sebagian besar berasal dari limbah rumah tangga yang jika dibiarkan akan menimbulkan bau tidak sedap dan memicu munculnya mikroorganisme penyebab penyakit. Teknologi sederhana yang dapat diterapkan untuk menangani sampah organik adalah dengan mengubahnya menjadi Pupuk Organik Cair (POC). Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan ketrampilan pembuatan POC dari limbah rumah tangga kepada mitra. Mitra pada pengabdian ini merupakan ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang tergabung sebagai anggota Majlis Taklim Annisa Bandar Lampung. Hasil observasi awal menunjukkan bahwa 27% mitra belum mengetahui tentang POC dan 18% mitra tidak mengetahui kandungan limbah rumah tangga yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai POC, serta 90% mitra belum memanfaatkan limbah rumah tangga sebagai pupuk. Pelaksanakan kegiatan menggunakan metode demonstrasi dan ceramah/pemberian informasi. Hasil kegiatan yaitu mitra dapat membuat POC dari limbah rumah tangga dan memanfaatkannya sebagai pupuk tanaman.
