Abstract

Green consumerism has been considered as one of promising movement in maintaining the environmental quality. This research aimed to describe the students’ pro-environmental behavior (PEB) as considerable as there learning outcome based on green consumerism. This survey research was conducted in State Junior High School 1 of South Tambun, Bekasi, West Java on July-August 2018. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with 256 students. The subject was divided into two groups: 128 students from seventh grade who had not received environmental learning materials and 128 students from eighth grade who had received environmental learning materials. The data analysis used in this study was an independent t-test. The results of the t-test showed that there was no significant difference of PEB achievement between the two groups. In addition, not with standing that the average of the students’ environmental learning outcomes was 72.76, but there was as high as 78.60% of students’ achievement was classified below the standard value. Thus, teachers should evaluate the environmental materials used. It is expected that Biology subjects on environmental material can accommodate green consumerism concepts.

Abstract

Environmental responsibility is a crucial aspect which determines the environmental solving problems in term of enhancing the pro-environmental behavior. This study aimed to examine the relation between the environmental responsibility and pro-environmental behavior of the undergraduate students. The sample of this descriptive correlational study was 106 students of biology education department which was taken randomly. This study showed that the undergraduate students were in high criteria of environment responsibility (ER). This was represented by feeling guilty which was the highest percentage and followed by responsibility feeling and responsibility judgment respectively. In addition, the undergraduate students were in positive pro-environmental behavior (PEB). The regression model was y = 23.876 + 0.623x; while ER contributed as high as 22.1% to the undergraduate student’s PEB. This implied that to improve the undergraduate student’s PEB is by strengthening their ER.

Abstract

Brainstorming Learning Method is one of the learning methods that help teachers to achieve the goals of the learning process. Critical thinking is a process for learners to digest first things that have been obtained by looking at from other sources then can create their own conclusions. One of learning that requires critical thinking is Vertebrate subject matter. This study aims to determine the effect of brainstorming learning method on critical thinking of Vertebrate subject matter in high school students. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 31 Jakarta. The number of research samples were 132 students using Taro Yamane formula selected by simple random sampling. This research was conducted in May-June 2018. The research method used is quasi- experimental method. The result of the research is the average score of critical thinking ability test of Vertebrata subject matter in experiment classis higher than the average score of critical thinking ability test of Vertebrate material in control class, prerequisite test shows normal and homogenous distribution data. Testing statistical hypothesis based on calculations that have been done, obtained p-value<α is 0,000<0.05 then. The conclusion of this research is the influence of brainstorming method on Vertebrate subject matter critical thinking ability in high school students.

Abstract

Abstract: The ability to think creatively and problem solving is the ability that students must have in 21st century. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between creative thinking skills and students' problem solving abilities in environmental change material. The research method used is descriptive correlational method. The research was conducted at High School 4 Bekasi in semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The sample was taken through simple random sampling technique as many as 138 students. The results showed a correlation coefficient between the ability to think creatively with students' problem solving abilities of 0.825. The conclusion of this study is that there is a positive relationship between the ability to think creatively with students' problem solving skills.Abstrak: Kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah adalah kemampuan yang harus dimiliki siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi perubahan lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif korelasional. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 4 Bekasi pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel diambil melalui teknik simple random sampling sebanyak 138 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan koefisien korelasi antara kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa sebesar 0,825. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif memberikan kontribusi sebesar 68% terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan positif antara kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa.

Abstract

Mangrove forest is a form of a transitional ecosystem from land and sea so it has many roles and functions for the ecosystem, one of which is maintaining the biological stability of the waters. This study aims to determine the condition of the mangrove forest and its effect on the diversity of animal species found on Rambut Island. The method used in this study is a meta-analysis by combining some previous data through a literature study on the condition of mangrove forests and animal diversity on Rambut Island. The study results show that on Rambut Island 18 species of mangrove plants have been identified and in the last 10 years, there has been a decrease in the number of mangrove species to 6 species in 2021. The mangrove forest is dominated by Rhizophora mucronata species. Animal species found in mangrove forests are dominated by groups of water birds, such as the great egret (Egretta alba). The decrease in the number of mangrove plant species resulted in a decrease in the abundance and diversity of animal species on Rambut Island. This is because these animals lose mangrove vegetation which provides a place to find food and protection for the animals that live in them. Therefore, the mangrove forest is an area that must be preserved so that it can benefit the animals that live in it.

Abstract

Problem-solving skill is a way or strategy to achieve goals following good and correct procedures. One of the learning models that can be applied to improve problem-solving skills is a learning model of Problem-Based Learning. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on student’s problem-solving skills of biodiversity. This research was conducted at SMAN 89 Jakarta in August-September 2019. The method used was a quasi-experiment. The research sample was 66 students of class X MIA with a simple random sampling technique, the instrument used was pretest and posttest in the form of a description question. Instrument of problem-solving skills was tested for validity and reliability. The result of the validity test showed that there were 15 valid items out of 18 items. The reliability test showed that the r-value was 0,901 and included in very high criteria. The effectiveness test of the PBL model with normalized gain calculated score of 0,72 or included in the category of fairly effective. The research result showed that the problem-based learning model influenced students’ problem-solving skills of biodiversity.

Abstract

Jakarta merupakan wilayah perkotaan di Indonesia yang memiliki banyak permasalahan lingkungan. Kesadaran lingkungan diperlukan dalam upaya untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan lingkungan. Kesadaran lingkungan dalam diri siswa dapat dibentuk oleh tingkat pengetahuan lingkungan. Program sekolah berbasis lingkungan dilaksanakan melalui program Adiwiyata. Tujuan program Adiwiyata untuk mendorong dan menciptakan sekolah yang peduli tentang lingkungan dan memiliki budaya lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan lingkungan hidup dengan kesadaran lingkungan pada siswa sekolah Adiwiyata. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 26 dan SMAN 65 Jakarta pada Semester I Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif kuantitatif melalui studi korelasional. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 124 siswa menggunakan teknik Simple Random Sampling. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pengetahuan lingkungan hidup dan instrumen kesadaran lingkungan. Analisis uji prasyarat menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal menggunakan uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan homogen menggunakan uji Bartlett. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara pengetahuan lingkungan hidup dengan kesadaran lingkungan siswa dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,298. Hal tersebut berarti jika skor pengetahuan lingkungan hidup tinggi, maka skor kesadaran lingkungan juga tinggi. Pengetahuan lingkungan hidup memberikan kontribusi terhadap kesadaran lingkungan siswa sebesar 8,89%.

Abstract

In the 2013 curriculum students are required to be active in all learning activities. Through active learning that has been applied, students are expected to be able to explore deeper information about Biology material that has or has not been explained by the teacher. This attitude shows that students have curiosity which will then lead to self-confidence so that it encourages students to achieve good results. This study aims to determine the correlation between self-confidence in studying biology and curiosity (curiosity) with student achievement motivation. This research was conducted at SMAN 97 Jakarta in the even semester 2020/2021 academic year. The method used is a quantitative method through correlational studies. The sample used was 100 students taken from three classes of XI MIPA using simple random sampling technique. The data in this study were taken using three test instruments, namely: self-confidence test, curiosity test and student achievement motivation test. Most of the results obtained from the three tests are in the high category, with the percentage of confidence in studying biology by 62%, curiosity by 62% and student achievement motivation by 57%. Therefore, based on the results of the study, it was found that there was a positive correlation between self-confidence in studying biology and curiosity with student achievement motivation.AbstrakPada kurikulum 2013 siswa dituntut aktif dalam segala kegiatan pembelajaran. Melalui pembelajaran aktif yang sudah diterapkan, siswa diharapkan dapat mengeksplor informasi yang lebih dalam tentang materi Biologi yang telah ataupun belum dijelaskan oleh guru. Sikap tersebut menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki rasa ingin tahu yang kemudian akan memunculkan rasa percaya diri sehingga mendorong siswa untuk mencapai hasil yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dalam mempelajari biologi dan rasa ingin tahu dengan motivasi berprestasi siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 97 Jakarta pada tahun ajaran 2020/2021 semester genap. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif melalui studi korelasional. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 100 siswa yang diambil dari tiga kelas XI MIPA dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan tiga instrumen tes, yaitu: tes kepercayaan diri, tes rasa ingin tahu dan tes motivasi berprestasi siswa. Hasil terbanyak yang diperoleh dari ketiga tes tersebut masuk dalam kategori tinggi, dengan presentase kepercayaan diri dalam mempelajari biologi sebesar 62%, rasa ingin tahu sebesar 62% dan motivasi berprestasi siswa sebesar 57%.  Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara kepercayaan diri dalam mempelajari biologi dan rasa ingin tahu dengan motivasi berprestasi siswa.
