Abstract

This research aim to stay the effect green manure dose of Tithonia diversifolia on growth and result of maize crop (Zea mays L.) in farmer farm in Sidera of Sub district Sigi Biromaru of Regency Sigi, Mei-Juli 2013. Field experiment the Random Device Blok Disaign (RAK) consisted of 4 treatment, that is  B1 = Without green manure, B2 = Green Manure of Tithonia diversifolia 5 ton of per ha, B3 = Green Manure of Tithonia Diversifolia 10 ton of per ha, B4 = Green Manure of Tithonia diversifolia 15 ton of per ha. Every treatment repeated three of times, consisted of 12 unit. Result indicate that the green manure Tithonia diversifolia can improve the growth and result of maize crop (Zea mays L.) With the green manure of Tithonia Dose 10 (ton)  per ha can improve result of maize crop equal to 9.2 ton / ha.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectivity of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms,) on  reducing Biohemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) content in Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) and find out water hyacinth?s adaptation after contact to POME for 21 days. This research was conducted in September to November 2017 at     PT. Manakarra Unggul Lestari, Mamuju, West Sulawesi. This research was arranged on Block Randomized Design, consist of four treatments: P0=0 clumps of water hyacinth, P1=5 clumps of water hyacinth, P2=10 clumps of water hyacinth and P3=15 clumps water hyacinth in strerofoam box contains 105,000 cm3 POME/box treatment and repeated 3 times, resulting 12 experimental units. Wet weight, dry weight, root volume, stomata index and chlorophyll content of water hyacinth were measured to determine the adaptation of water hyacinth after contact with liquid waste. The research results showed that water hyacinth is effective on reducing BOD and COD content in POME. P3 was the largest BOD and COD decrease level, BOD was decreases to 97.36% and COD decreases to  97.50%. From the research can be concluded that water hyacinth plants were able to adapt when placed in the POME and did not show significant signs of stress

Abstract

Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah merupakan penghasil kakao terbesar di Indonesia dan oleh karena itu, kakao ditetapkan sebagai salah satu komoditas unggulan daerah Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Adapun mitra yang terlibat pada program pengabdian adalah Masyarakat Di Desa Uenuni Kecamatan Palolo Kabupaten Sigi Propinsi Sulawesi Tengah melalui kelompok tani Fajar Baru. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra adalah rendahnya pengetahuan terkait dengan pembuatan pupuk organik (bokashi) dari limbah kakao dan teknologi pengolahan biji kakao menjadi pasta cokelat, bubuk cokelat dan pembuatan aneka produk olahan kakao. Program pengabdian bertujuan untuk membantu masyarakat sasaran dalam memanfaatkan limbah kakao dan mengolah biji kakao untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Target khusus yang ingin dicapai adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat untuk pembuatan pupuk kompos dari limbah kakao dan pengolahan biji kakao menjadi bubuk cokelat, pasta cokelat dan produk olahan lainnya. Pelaksanaan program pengabdian melibatkan 3 (tiga) dosen yang memiliki kepakaran multidisiplin meliputi ilmu hortikultura, teknologi pengolahan hasil pertanian dan ilmu manajemen. Hasil pengabdian meliputi pembuatan bokashi dari kulit kakao secara berkelanjutan dan teknologi pengolahan biji kakao menjadi bubuk coklat, pasta cokelat dan olahan produk lainnya seperti silver quin dan susu cokelat. Program pengabdian tersebut dapat meningkatkan keterampilan petani kakao dalam pembuatan bokashi untuk pupuk perkebunan kakao, meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait dengan teknologi pengolahan biji kakao menjadi aneka produk olahan kakao yang telah dilatihkan sehingga masyarakat petani dapat menciptakan usaha bisnis pertanian berbasis kakao untuk meningkatkan pendapatan petani.

Abstract

The research aimed to gain the appropriate NAA concentration in performing tissue culture of dragon fruit plants. The research was compiled by using completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and each treatment was repeated 6 times that 24 experimental units were done. The variables observed include the number of shoots, the number of roots, the number of segments, and the length of shoots observed at the age of 4 weeks and 8 weeks after planting. The research findings reveal that on the observation at 4 weeks after planting the NAA concentration has effect on the number of segments and the elongation of shoots, yet it does not have effect on the number of shoots and roots, while at 8 weeks after planting the NAA concentration has effect on the number of shoots, the number of roots, the number of segments, and the length of shoots. The research findings also show that the treatment of N3 (0.3 ppm NAA) gives better result compared with other treatments in which the average number of shoots formed is 5.50 per explant, the number of roots formed is 3.50 per explant, the number of segments formed is 8.83 per explant and the average length of shoots formed is 2.13 cm per explant. Key Words : Dragon Fruit, NAA Concentration, In Vitro.

Abstract

This research aim was to determine the effect of various rates of chicken manure and straw mulch on the growth and yield of tomato plant.  The research method used a Two-factorial Randomized Block design (RBD). The first factor was the rate of chicken manure consisting of 5 t/ha (P1), 10 t/ha (P2) and 15 t/ha (P3). The second factor was the rate of rice straw mulch including control (M0, without mulch), 5 t/ha (M1), 10 t/ha (M2) and15 t/ha (M3). Each treatment was repeated thrice, so that there were 36 experimental units.  The results ofthe study indicated thatthe chicken manure and the rice straw mulch interaction significantly affected the growth and yield of tomato as observed on plant height, number of leaves, number of fruit per plant, yield per tile and yield per hectare.  The interaction of chicken manure at 10 t/ha and rice straw mulch at10 t/ha resulted in largest number of leaves, number of fruit per plant, yield per tile and yield per ha.The highest production of tomatoes found was 11.98 t/ha. Keywords: Chicken manure, Rice straw mulch, and Tomato.

Abstract

The research aimed at identifying the effect of chicken manure doses on the growth and yield of spring onion was conducted in Wuasa village, North Lore sub district of Poso regency at ± 1100 above sea level.  The research use a Randomized Block Design consisting of 8 treatments: No fertilizer (control), 3 t fertilizer/ha (D1), 6 t fertilizer/ha (D2), 9 t fertilizer/ha (D3), 12 t fertilizer/ha (D4), 15 t fertilizer/ha (D5), 18 t fertilizer/ha (D6), and 21 t fertilizer/ha (D7).  The research results showed that 12 t chicken manures produced the largest yield for plant height and fresh plant weight.

Abstract

The research aimed at determining the age of nangka rootstock and the level of Nutrifarm-SD fertilizer on the successful knitting of grafting.  The research was arranged in a Randomized Block design in a factorial experiment in which grouping was based on the rootstock length.  Two factors applied included the age of the rootstock: 1 month after sowing (BST), 2 months after sowing, and                 3 months after sowing and the levels of Nutrifarm-SD: control, 5 g seed kg-1, 10 g seed kg-1, and 15 g seed kg-1.  Grafting using younger rootstock (1 month after planting) resulted in the largest number of successful bonding.  Either the single effect of Nutrifarm-SD fertilizer or combined effect with the age of the rootstock was insignificance on all parameters observed.
