Abstract

Green house study to increase growth and nutrient uptake of soybean with giving growth regulator Benzylaminopurine (BAP) in Ultisols. Research using randomized block non factorial design with treatments: control, liming with a dose of 1,5 x Aldd (L), and 4 levels of concentration growth regulator BAP that is: 0,4 ppm (B1), 0,8 ppm (B2), 1,2 ppm (B3), dan 1,6 ppm (B4), with 4 replications. Parameter that measured is pH, root volume, root length, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, N, P, and K uptake in laboratory. Result of this research showed that growth regulator BAP are potential to  replace lime in resolving acid soil. Growth regulator BAP can increase root volume, root length, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, N, P, and K uptake better than lime. Best concentration of BAP based on this research is 0,8 ppm (B2). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya erosi pada tanah andisol dengan pertanaman kentang searah lereng dan memotong lereng di kecamatan Berastagi kabupaten Karo. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai September 2016, dengan melakukan perbandingan antara besarnya erosi pada pertanaman searah lereng dan memotong lereng dengan metode petak kecil dengan ukuran petak percobaan 22m x 2m  sebanyak 3 ulangan yang diuji dengan uji T. Analisis tanah dilakukan di Laboratorium Riset dan Teknologi Fakultas Pertanian USU. Sifat tanah di lokasi penelitian memiliki tekstur lempung berdebu, bulk density 0,88 g/cm3, permeabilitas 3,56 cm/jam, c organik 7,33 %, porositas  69,8 %, dan memiliki kemiringan lereng 13 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa besarnya erosi yang terjadi pada pertanaman kentang yang searah lereng untuk curah hujan 35 dan 36 mm sebesar 1,30 dan 1,83 ton/ha sedangkan erosi pada pertanaman kentang yang memotong lereng sebesar 0,21 dan 0,25 ton/ha. Produksi kentang pada pertanaman yang searah lereng  adalah 143,3 kg/plot dan pada pertanaman yang memotong lereng adalah 90,7 kg/plot

Abstract

The city of Lhokseumawe often experiences flooding or stagnant rainwater. The Pusong Reservoir that was built could have been ineffective in overcoming the flooding problem due to siltation in the reservoir. Therefore, this study aims to review and recommend the management of the Pusong Reservoir based on suspended sediment discharge which is expected to overcome the silting problem of the reservoir. The sampling method was carried out by determining the stations for sampling based on the environmental baseline in determining the six reservation stations. Samples were analyzed for suspended sediment concentration, turbidity, and incoming sediment discharge. Analysis of suspended sediment concentrations ranged from 9.3 - 50.0 ppm, turbidity ranged from 2.17 - 14.42 NTU, and the incoming suspended sediment discharge was 0.00 - 6946.56 kg/day. Based on the analysis of suspended sediment discharge that enters the reservoir, it is necessary to control sediment transport to prevent siltation does not occur in the Pusong Reservoir. The management of the sediment transport control includes sediment traps, vegetative systems, and Spoil Bank Resulting from Sediment Dredging.Keywords:  Suspended Sediment, Management, Pusong Reservoir, Turbidity
