Abstract

Abstrak  Telah dilakukan penelitian penentuan dimensi sudu turbin dan sudut kemiringan poros turbin pada turbin ulir Archimedes.  Penelitian ini melakukan kajian pada beberapa parameter turbin ulir yaitu penentuan dimensi sudu turbin dan sudut kemiringan poros turbin agar dihasilkan kinerja turbin optimum. Penentuan dimensi sudu turbin ulir mengikuti formulasi C.Rorres yang memaksimumkan volume air di antara kisar sudu turbin ulir. Dimensi sudu turbin ulir untuk potensi daya fluida head 2 meter dan debit 20 hingga 40 liter/detik yang dihasilkan memiliki spesifikasi: konstruksi rotor memiliki 2 buah sudu ulir,  kisar ulir 413 mm, radius sudu luar (R) 408 mm dan radius sudu dalam(Rio) 109 mm. Kemudian dilakukan perhitungan panjang lintasan bentangan ulir agar menghasilkan kisar ulir sebesar 413 mm. Panjang lintasan bentangan ulir dapat diperoleh dengan menggunakan dua cara yaitu perhitungan persamaan helix atau simulasi software gambar, kedua cara ini menghasilkan panjang lintasan ulir sebesar 802 mm. Penentuan sudut optimum kemiringan poros turbin dihitung berdasarkan gaya berat dan gaya hidrostatis yang dihasilkan volume air di antara 2 sudu ulir, perhitungan ini mendapatkan sudut optimum kemiringan poros adalah 32°. Abstract

ABSTRAKKondisi ketidakselarasan sistem transmisi pulley-belt pada mesin bubut berpengaruh terhadap nilai inefisiensi konsumsi energi mesin perkakas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan kajian evaluasi kinerja efisiensi energi mesin bubut pada kondisi sistem transmisi pulley-belt mesin yang selaras dan tidak selaras. Kajian ini menggunakan metoda penilaian indikasi specific energy consumption (SEC) dari proses pemesinan bubut. Nilai total konsumsi energi saat proses pemotongan diukur menggunakan power analyzer, dan diolah menjadi nilai data SEC, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Data Envelopment Analysis untuk mendapatkan harga referensi. Penilaian skor penurunan energi setiap mesin diperoleh dengan membandingkan jarak nilai SEC setiap mesin terhadap nilai referensi. Obyek penelitian menggunakan lima buah mesin bubut uji berkapasitas daya medium. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pada kondisi ketidakselarasan sistem transmisi pulley-belt menyebabkan terjadinya inefisiensi energi mesin bubut sebesar 5%.Kata kunci: Data Envelopment Analysis ,efisiensi energi, ketidakselarasan, SEC ABSTRACTThe pulley belt transmission system's misalignment condition on turning machine affects the low-efficiency value of machine tool energy consumption. This study aims to evaluate the energy efficiency of a lathe in the alignment and misalignment of the pulley-belt transmission system. This study used a method of assessing the specific energy consumption (SEC) of the lathe machining process. During the cutting process, the total energy consumption value is measured using a power analyzer and processed into SEC data values, then analyzed using Data Envelopment Analysis to obtain a reference value. The assessment is obtained by comparing the distance between each machine's SEC value and the reference value. The case study's object was conducted on five test lathes with medium power capacity. The study results show that the pulleybelt transmission system's misalignment causes the lathe's energy inefficiency of more than 5%.Keywords: Data Envelopment Analysis, efficiency energy, misalignment, SEC

Abstract

Generally, The air conditioning in the panel of CNC machine always uses electric fan to avoid overheating in electrical components. The availability of compressed air on CNC machines infrastructure allows the utilization of inovation through the use of vortex tube as a cold air generator. Vortex tube is a mechanical device that can separate the flow of pressurized air into hot and cold air. The cold air can be used as a substitute for cooler fan. The experimental study was conducted to examine the corelation between the value ratio value with generated cold temperatures, as well as its application as cooling panel. Vortex tube testing was conducted at Polman Bandung, it was tested on machine panel of CNC lathe machine (CKE61130) with a volume panel of 0.26m.3 The result of study showed that the vortex tube with a ratio value of 0.44 generates the lowest cold temperature. Furthermore the experiment test showed that vortex tube can function properly and maintain the air temperature between 25 ° C to 35 ° C.

Abstract

The frequent occurrence of unplanned maintenance of curing machine on PT XYZ car tire production line is an indication of ineffectiveness implementation of the preventive maintenance. Unplanned downtime caused increasing of lost production time and failure products during setup, and also high cost maintenance. The company must improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance system performance through updating the maintenance schedule for obtaining high availability of the machine. The purpose of this study is to identify the components which cause the failure of the curing machine and give the recommendation of the appropriate maintenance interval. Weibull distribution method is used to get the index value of fit time to failure of machine components, analyze the component failure rate, calculate the mean time between failure (MTBF) as the expected lifetime of the component. The obtained result showed that there were two critical components with an indication of the increasing failure rate, as during wear-out (β value> 1), which are namely cylinder press and EPV with an MTBF value of 89 days for cylinder presses and 231 days for EPV. The results of this study propose for updating the curing machine PM schedule. the adding pressure valve and EPV on PM activities and using the its expected lifetime as its PM interval should be considering. it will minimize unplanned downtime

Abstract

A shot blasting machine is a cleaning machine for casting products with a steel ball shooting mechanism from the impeller/blast wheel rotation's centrifugal force. As the main machine in the final process of casting production activities, the decrease in machine reliability has a negative impact on the production system. Currently, the production equipment maintenance strategy at PT ABC is still implementing corrective maintenance, which is unplanned and reactive when a machine malfunction occurs. It resulted in high production loss and increased maintenance costs. Therefore, the shot blasting machine's maintenance strategy should be changed to a type of preventive maintenance. This study aims to plan preventive maintenance (PM) system for the shot blasting machines of PT. ABC, such as creating PM schedule, calculating machine downtime, and technician needs for each PM activity. PM system planning is achieved using the ISMO (Inspection, Small repair, Medium repair, and Overhaul) method. Its method was conducted in several stages, which start with identifying machine objects, making PM work specifications, determining the value of mark complexity and maintenance cycle, calculating machine downtime and technician needs. Then making schedules annual and monthly, and several other maintenance documents. The mechanism for determining the complexity value is determined based on the similarity of the HP Garg methodology's machine specifications. Finally, The planning of the shot blasting machine PM system has been successfully done, some of the PM information obtained are (i) the machine maintenance cycle is C - I1 - I2 - S1 - I3 - I4 - M1 - I5 - I6 - S2 - I7 - I8 - M2 - I9 - I10 - S3 - I11 - I12 - C, (ii) the time interval between maintenance activities is one month, (iii) machine downtime for each shot blasting machine, (iV) the number and level of maintenance technicians required in every ISMO activity for drum shot, batch shot and hanger shot machines. The calculating verification of the shot blasting machine's availability value on the proposed PM schedule shows that machine availability increased to more than 80%.

Abstract

The technology  of adding manufacturing or 3D printing is one of the main issues in the concept of technology 4.0. The construction design of the 3D printing machine and the deflection of its construction significantly affect the accuracy of the dimension and shape the printed product. The study aims to obtain a construction design of a cartesian type 3 D printing machine based on fused deformation modelling, and to verify the maximum value of the deflection of the machine axis. The study method used VDI222, calculation analysis, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation using CAE Solidworks software to verify the strength and deflection of the machine design construction. The study results show the construction design of 3D printing machine has been obtained according to the requirement. The verified maximum deflection value is 0.036 mm, hence the maximum error in the dimensions and shape of the printed product for each layer will still be within the standard tolerance. In addition, its maximum deflection value is verified within the radial clearance value of each determined machine axis bearing.

Abstract

Air merupakan kebutuhan utama dari kehidupan dan memiliki begitu banyak kontribusi bagi berbagai aktivitas manusia. Desa Sukamandi, Kecamatan Sagalaherang, Kabupaten Subang memiliki potensi sumber daya air yang berlimpah dari alam yang dapat dikonsumsi dan dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat sekitar. Namun, jika masyarakat tidak dapat memahami betapa berharganya potensi yang mereka miliki, bisa saja air tidak dapat dimanfaatkan dengan baik, bahkan bisa saja mendatangkan bencana. Kegiatan program pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan cara memberi penyuluhan mengenai pemanfaatan air untuk menunjang perekonomian masyarakat Desa Sukamandi. Sebelum diadakan penyuluhan, dilakukan penelitian sederhana mengenai kualitas air yang ada di desa tersebut untuk dinformasikan dan dijelaskan kepada masyarakat Desa Sukamandi. Terdapat 20 orang peserta dari Desa Sukamandi yang mengikuti penyuluhan tersebut dan sekaligus dijadikan sebagai responden. Berdasarkan kuesioner yang telah disebar setelah dilakukan proses penyuluhan, peserta penyuluhan dapat memahami pentingnya menjaga kualitas air dan memanfaatkannya untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup mereka dalam hal pemanfaatan sebagai air bersih, perikanan, pertanian dan untuk tujuan pariwisata.

Abstract

The product quality of machining results is greatly influenced by the accuracy and precision of CNC lathe machine tools. Regular inspection of the geometric inaccuracy of the machine tool is necessary to verify its operational viability. This research contribution focuses on conducting experimental studies to evaluate machine tool geometric error. The aim is to explore cost-effective measurement methods as alternatives to direct measurements, which often involve laser interferometers and ball bar tests. The objective of this study is to investigate the geometric inaccuracy of a CNC turning machine by conducting experimental cutting tests in accordance with ISO 13041-6:2009. The testing will utilize conventional workpiece forms and requirements, including circularity features, flatness, circular features, and maybe combination features. Several geometric errors that can be acquired with this method include circularity errors, linear positional errors, and squareness errors. The cutting test for each workpiece feature of the given shape and specification requires the use of 5 specimens. Consequently, the mean value of the geometric error may be computed. The geometric error value is derived by the analysis of measurement data collected from a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) applied to a specimen of the machined workpiece. Moreover, the evaluation of the geometric error condition of machine tools is ascertained through the comparison of the average data for each category of geometric error against the permissible standard values given in ISO 10791-2, ISO 10791-4, and ISO 13041-4. The findings of the study indicate that the implementation of the object machine study is not viable for the production of machined workpieces of satisfactory quality. This is primarily due to the presence of geometric errors in CNC turning that exceed the acceptable tolerance levels. Specifically, these errors manifest as linear positional deviations along multiple coordinates along the X-axis and Z-axis, as well as squareness deviations between the X-axis and Z-axis. The maximum value of the linear positional error along the X-axis is 55.2 μm, while the maximum value of the linear positional error along the Z-axis is 25.6 μm. Additionally, the greatest observed squareness error is 37.3 μm. The X and Z machine axes exhibit deviations beyond acceptable limits in terms of unidirectional accuracy and unidirectional repeatability, as per the established norm

Abstract

Sukamandi Village is a village that has the potential to become a tourism destination. The beautiful atmosphere and the presence of tourist attractions, namely Bukit Jamali and Curug Cibingbin, can attract tourists to visit and enjoy the lovely natural atmosphere. However, some problems can make tourists uncomfortable while enjoying the natural beauty of Sukamandi Village, namely the uneven distribution of electricity around the waterfall. The community service program through student community service activities that have been carried out in Sukamandi Village, Sagalaherang District, West Java Province, has been running well and smoothly. Through training, community empowerment can improve knowledge and basic concepts in using new and renewable energy sources. The activity partners, namely the residents of Sukamandi Village, have tried to utilise new renewable energy sources from water, air and solar energy in lighting media in their village. --- Desa Sukamandi merupakan desa yang memiliki potensi untuk dijadikan destinasi pariwisata. Suasananya yang asri serta adanya tempat wisata yaitu Bukit Jamali dan Curug Cibingbin, dapat menarik hati para wisatawan untuk berkunjung dan menikmati suasana alam yang asri. Namun, terdapat permasalahan yang dapat membuat wisatawan kurang nyaman pada saat sedang menikmati keindahan alam yang dimiliki Desa Sukamandi, yaitu tidak meratanya penyaluran listrik di wilayah sekitar curug. Program pengabdian masyarakat melalui kegiatan KKN mahasiswa yang telah dilaksanakan di Desa Sukamandi, Kecamatan Sagalaherang, Propinsi Jawa Barat telah berjalan dengan baik dan lancar. Kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui kegiatan pelatihan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan konsep dasar dalam memanfaatkan sumber energi baru terbarukan dengan baik.  Mitra kegiatan yaitu warga masyarakat Desa Sukamandi telah mencoba memanfaatkan sumber energi baru terbarukan yang berasal dari energi air, udara dan cahaya matahari dalam media penerangan di desanya.
