Abstract

The use of language styles has a widely varied purpose to convey information that is not explicitly expressed by the speaker. This study is aimed at describing the form and function of the styles contained in the French media. The subjects of this research are phrases and sentences contained in the CDP Lyrics in the Blonde albums, alcoholic beverages and advertisement aplle in French-language magazines, and in the speech by François Hollande in ‘Le Figaro’ newspaper. Data collection is done by observation and recording techniques using data tables. Data analysis uses the agih method. The analysis of the language style functions is done by using the speech components of SPEAKING. The validity is obtained through semantic validity and reliability through intra-rater reliability.  The results of the study show that the style of language in the media is necessary for speech so that the content of communication is more beautiful and attractive. Language style functions depend on the context and purpose of the speech. The most dominant function in the lyrics of the song is the poetic, which prioritizes beauty. In Alcoholic Beverage Ads, the expressive function becomes dominant to make the advertisement more alive. In the Apple Product Advertising on the Internet, the language function is referential for emphasizing the topics described.Keywords: language style, form and function  VARIASI GAYA BAHASA DALAM MEDIA PERANCIS AbstrakPenggunaan gaya bahasa mempunyai tujuan yang sangat bervariasi untuk menyampaikan informasi yang tidak akan dinyatakan secara eksplisit oleh si penutur.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bentuk dan fungsi gaya bahasa pada media komunikasi yang berupa lagu, iklan, dan Surat Kabar berbahasa Prancis. Subjek penelitian ini adalah frasa dan kalimat yang terdapat dalam Lagu CDP pada album Blonde, iklan minuman beralkohol, iklan aplle dalam majalah berbahasa Prancis, dan Pidato François Hollande dalam Surat Kabar Le Figaro. Pengumpulan data dengan metode simak dan teknik catat dengan tabel data. Analisis data menggunakan metode agih. Penentuan fungsi gaya bahasa menggunakan metode padan referensial. Fungsi penggunaan gaya bahasa dianalisis  dengan komponen tutur SPEAKING. Keabsahan data melalui validitas semantis, reliabilitas dengan intra-rater. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahasa gaya bahasa yang paling menonjol pada lagu adalah asonansi dan hiperbola, pada iklan minuman beralkohol adalah aliterasi dan hiperbola, pada pidato François Hollande adalah repetisi dan hiperbola, pada iklan apple adalah asonansi dan aliterasi. Fungsi bahasa yang sering muncul adalah referensial kecuali pada iklan minuman beralkohol, yang dominan adalah fungsi emotif.  Fungsi gaya bahasa tergantung pada konteks dan tujuan. Gaya bahasa di media diperlukan agar konten indah dan menarik. Kata kunci : Gaya Bahasa, Bahasa Prancis, Bentuk dan Fungsi

Abstract

Bahasa Prancis bagi pembelajar berbahasa Indonesia merupakan bahasa asing (selanjutnya disebut B2). Bahasa Prancis dipelajari setelah pembelajar menguasai bahasa Indonesia (B1). Penggunaan dua bahasa (Indonesia yang lebih dikuasai dari bahasa Prancis yang sedang dipelajari) menyebabkan terjadinya pencampuran unsur struktur dan kosa kata kedua bahasa tersebut, apalagi jika bahasa tersebut berasal dari rumpun yang berbeda. Karena itu, akan terjadi kesalahan-kesalahan yang salah satunya disebabkan oleh pengaruh dari B1. Bahasa Indonesia memiliki bentuk dan sifat yang berbeda dengan bahasa Prancis. Bahasa Indonesia termasuk kategori bahasa aglutinatif yang tidak mengenal adanya perubahan bentuk verba, sedangkan bahasa Prancis termasuk kategori bahasa fleksi yang mengalami konjugasi verba serta deklinasi nomina dan ajektiva (Cristal,1992: 297).

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan konstruksi determinan pada frasa nomina bahasa Perancis dan bahasa Indonesia. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis kontrastif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nomina bahasa Perancis memiliki jenis kelamin (maskulin/feminin) dan jumlah (tunggal/jamak). Gender dan jumlah dalam bahasa Prancis memiliki aturan konkordansi yang dapat memengaruhi bentuk dan makna nomina. Dalam bahasa Indonesia, meskipun nomina memiliki konsep gender tunggal dan jamak, jenis dan jumlah dalam bahasa Indonesia tidak muncul secara eksplisit. Bentuk ini hanya ditandai dengan karakteristik semantik tertentu yang dapat menunjukkan jenis kelamin, bentuk tunggal, dan bentuk jamak.Kata Kunci: determinan, gender, frase nomina, analisis kontrastif

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan pendidikan karakter untuk mendorong siswa sekolah dasar menjadi generasi bermoral, bertanggung jawab, dan mampu menunjukkan identitas mereka sebagai manusia berbudaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa Sekolah Dasar di desa selter Kuwang, Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kualitas pembelajaran para siswa meningkat, seperti yang terlihat dari rasa tanggung jawab dan kerja sama antarsiswa. Siswa menjadi lebih percaya diri dan lebih perhatian terhadap lingkungan hidup. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mereka melakukan kerja sama yang baik dalam kelompok. Selain itu, anak-anak menjadi lebih baik dalam melakukan tugas yang diberikan kepadanya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tanggung jawab dari anak-anak untuk tugas yang diberikan dapat dilakukan dengan baik. (2) Model pembelajaran yang diterapkan efektif dalam kerja kelompok yang terlihat pada antusiasme dan aktivitas siswa selama pelaksanaan kegiatan. Kata KUNCI: pengembangan karakter, kemandirian, ketaqwaan, tanggung jawab, kerja sama THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHARACTER OF PIETY, INDEPENDENCE, AND COOPERATION OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS Abtract: This study aims to develop character education as an effort to foster elementary school students to become a moral and responsible generation and be able to show their identity as men of culture. This research is an action research study. The subjects were the elementary school students in the shelter village of Kuwang, Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The results show that (1) the quality of the students’ learning improved, as seen from the good sense of responsibility and cooperation among those attending some of the activities carried out in conjunction with the research. The students became more confident and cared more about their environments. This shows that they developed good cooperation within the group. Besides, the students demonstrated a better performance on the tasks assigned to them. This suggests that the students’ responsibility for the task given to them also improved. (2) the teaching and learning model applied was very effective in developing group work as could be seen from the the students' enthusiasm and participation during the implementation of activities. Abstract

The use of blended learning in foreign language instruction such as French has been widely practiced by teachers in many countries, including Indonesia. As French for Indonesian is somehow not an easy subject to learn, the blended learning has not been widely implemented. In this regard, the aim of this study was to investigate whether there could be an improvement in the quality of learning when blended learning in French Intermediate Grammar courses for Indonesian was applied. An embedded mixed method design consisting of quantitative and qualitative approaches was used to analyse the collected data in this research, where the main method was quasi-experiment using the pretest-posttest design.  This study was conducted in one semester in seven synchronization activities. Data were collected by tests, questionnaires and observation sheets from 37 students taking French intermediate grammar course as the research respondents. The tests were reliable (Alpha Cronbach = .925). Moreover, the results showed that there were significant improvements among students, thus suggesting that blended learning can maximize the quality of learning (sig. .05). The qualitative data informs that students were more independent in developing their creativity, autonomy and innovation in managing blended learning, hence the learning outcome was achieved.

Abstract

Abstract The objective of this article is to describe the use of euphemism at “Kedaulatan Rakyat” newspaper. The object of this study is the form of sentences in the field of politics and economics, because a lot of euphemism applied on the both fields. According to the analysis of the data, in appoint of view of its function in the sentences, the form of euphemism has an important role. Abstract

This article is about a socio-pragmatic study on the language used by theJavanese society which has some speech levels (or unggah-ungguh in Javanese)called ngoko, krama madya, and krama inggil and the language used by the Bataksociety which does not have such speech levels.The difference concerning speech levels between the two societies isinfluenced by their traditional ways of living. The traditional Javanese society isdivided into two levels: the priyayi (or the nobility) and wong cilik (or thecommoner) levels. A priyayi uses ngoko in communicating with a wong cilik butthe latter cannot use it in communicating with the former. In such a case, the wongcilik uses krama inggil. This seems to indicate that solidarity in the Javanesesociety is poor. On the other hand, the Batak society does not have such levels sothat there are no speech levels in its language. Though the Batak society has manymargas, which means that any members of the society having the same last namebelong to the same marga and are regarded as members of the same family (therelevant term is dongan sabutuha), they are obliged to help other people who donot belong to their marga because the philosophy of the Batak society is dalihan natolu, which explains that solidarity in the Batak society is very important.Keywords: socio-pragmatic, ways of living, speech levels, solidarity

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian tentang bentuk-bentuk pendamping nomina bahasa Prancis yang berfungsi sebagai determinan pada frasa nomina dan konstruksi pembentukannya.   Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji dan menjelaskan unsur-unsur/bentuk-bentuk yang digunakan sebagai determinan pada frasa nomina bahasa Prancis dan menjelaskan konstruksi determinan yang digunakan dalam frasa nomina bahasa Prancis tersebut.Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data tentang determinan dalam bahasa Prancis dilakukan dengan  teknik baca dan teknik catat. Untuk setiap data yang ditemukan dicatat dan diklasifikasi untuk dimasukkan ke tabel data.  Data yang telah dikumpulkan selanjutnya dianalisis. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan struktural untuk melihat sistem gramatikal frasa nomina bahasa Prancis. Analisis tersebut dipadukan dengan acuan semantik untuk melihat keberterimaan sebuah konstruksi. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa unsur pembentuk frasa nomin (nomina dan determinan) bersifat obligatoris. Jenis determinan pada frasa nomina Bahasa Prancis adalah (1) l’article (indéfini/défini), (2) l’adjectif (démonstratif, posessif, numeral, indéfini dan qualificatif). Makna yang terkandung pada setiap frasa nomina Bahasa Prancis tergantung pada hasil konstruksi.Kata Kunci: bahasa Prancis, frasa nomina, determinan, konstruksi  DETERMINANT ANALYSIS ON GRAMATICAL SYSTEM OF FRENCH NOUN PHRASES IN “ECHO”   ABSTRACTThis article is the result of research on forms of French noun companion that serves as a determinant of the noun phrases and its construction of formation. The objective of this study is to examine and to explain the elements used as determinants of the French noun phrases and to explain the construction of the determinants used in the French noun phrase.The technique used in collecting data on determinants is done by reading technique.  For each data found is recorded and classified to be inserted into the data table. The data that has been collected is then analyzed. Data analysis uses a structural approach to view the grammatical system of French noun phrases. The analysis is combined with a semantic reference to see the acceptability of a construction.The results showed that the elements of a noun phrase (nouns and determinants) are obligatory. The determinant types in French noun phrases are (1) l’article (indéfini/défini), (2) l’adjectif (démonstratif, posessif, numeral, indéfini dan qualificatif).  The meaning contained in French noun phrase depends on the result of its construction.Keywords: French, noun phrases, determinants, constructions

Abstract

This study aims to describe types of verbs and their realizations in clauses in French. The data were collected from books on the French language system. The data were analyzed using a structural approach combined with referential semantics to check the acceptability of verb uses in clauses. The results are as follows. First, an intransitive verb in a clause serves as a predicate that describes the subject action without an object. Second, a transitive verb must be followed by a direct or an indirect object which can be placed in front of the verb. Third, a dual-type verb can be a transitive verb or an intransitive verb. Fourth, in the passive voice, the construction of the main verb is ‘participe passé’ that must be accompanied by the auxiliary verb ‘etre’.

Abstract

Upaya peningkatan kualitas suatu program perlu dukungan data tingkat capaian secara periodik melalui evaluasi. Evaluasi diperlukan agar kualitas proses dan hasil dapat ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan ujian Tugas Akhir Skripsi dan mengkategorisasikan pertanyaan-pertanyaan dalam tes lisan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Prancis, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, yang menempuh ujian pada lima tahun terakhir (2012 – 2017). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi dan angket. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitan sebagai berikut. Pertama, ujian lisan yang dilaksanakan selama 60-90 menit dengan tiga anggota tim penguji terbagi dalam tiga bidang kajian skripsi, yaitu: (1) inguistik, (2) sastra, dan (3) pengajaran. Kedua, pertanyaan-pertanyaan terpetakan dalam lima kategori dan 14 sub-kategori, yaitu pertanyaan: (1) terbuka-tertutup, (2) teknis-substantif, (3) berdasar tingkat kognitif (mengingat, memahami, menerapkan, menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta), (4) klarifikasi-pendalaman-perluasan, dan (5) di luar naskah skripsi. Kata kunci: tes lisan, skripsi, kategori pertanyaan CATEGORIES OF QUESTIONS IN THE UNDERGRADUATE THESIS EXAMINATIONAbstract Efforts to improve the quality of a program need to be supported by data on the periodic achievement levels through evaluation. Evaluation is necessary to improve the quality of the process and outcomes. This study aims to describe undergraduate thesis examinations and to categorize examination questions. This was a survey study. The subjects were students of the French Language Department, Faculty of Languages of Arts, Yogyakarta State University, sitting for the examinations in the last five years (2012-2017). The data were collected using documentation and questionnaires. They were analyzed by means of quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The findings are as follows. First, an undergraduate thesis examination is conducted for 60-90 minutes with three examiners and there are three fields of study, namely: (1) linguistics, (2) literature, and (3) teaching. Second, questions are classified into five categories and 14 sub-categories, namely: (1) open and closed ended; (2) technical and substantive; (3) cognitive-level-based (remembering, understanding, implementing, analyzing, evaluating, and creating); (4) clarifying, probing, and extending; and (5) out-of-script questions.Keywords: examination, undergraduate thesis, categories of questions
