Abstract

The process of interpreting ideas, knowledge, or messages is physically called representation. Representation refers to both the process and events of the meaning of a sign. Chinese ethnicity in Indonesia is a minority, with ethnicity having a history that is not good in the eyes of Indonesians. Problems that occur in Chinese ethnic have been raised and constructed through mass media, such as through film. The issue of Chinese ethnicity that is displayed in a film becomes an interesting story, through the film the problems that occur in the Chinese ethnic can be displayed and reconstructed so that they can be witnessed by a large audience. The world of cinema in Indonesia was again presented by a comedy drama film made by Starvision Plus, titled NGENEST, which brought up stories about ethnic Chinese in Indonesian society. Therefore, this study aims to find out how the representation of the ethnic Chinese in the NGENEST film. This study uses a type of qualitative research with Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis. The research subjects are the scenes in the NGENEST film. The objects in this study are NGENEST audio and visual films. In this study using Observation Data Collection, Documentation and Library Studies Techniques. To achieve the validity of the data in this study the authors used Triangulation Based on the results of the study using the Roland Semiotics analysis and Chinese ethnic culture, Chinese Ethnic Representations in the NGENEST film showed that the opinion of the general public about the characteristics of Chinese ethnicity who had slanted white eyes, showed that they were the majority, causing problems and they get bad treatment, this makes some Chinese ethnic reluctant to blend so that the ethnocentric attitude that is in accordance with Chinese mentality based on Kong Fu Tse's teachings has arisen. Chinese ethnics in Indonesia are divided into two: totok and pranakan, wherein the Chinese are ethnic Chinese who have mingled with culture or life in Indonesia, it appears that they use Indonesian in their daily lives and have beliefs besides the traditional beliefs of ethnic Tionghoa. And the Chinese ethnic community is also considered by the people who like to trade, this is because Chinese people live by trading or entrepreneurship in fulfilling their daily needs or as their livelihood Keywords: Representation, Semiotics, Ethnicity, Chinese

Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher’s interest in world television. Currently the television Indonesia. This time televisioon is a very popular media of indonesian people, includng the Peknbaru area. Besides the researchers are also intersted in discussing cultural resilience in Pekanbaru area of impact the globalization that adversely affect the culture in a country. For that reserchers do reserch in order to see the program belacan in Riau Television by looking at the management angle of television production because the balacan programs is a program that display regional cultural music..This purpose uses quality methods. Data retrieval using interview techniques, observation teqhniques, dokumentary teqhniques and using the POAC theory for looking of planning, organizing, actuating and supervision of the management. The purpose of this study is to find out how the plaanning, organizing, actuating and supervision of the production management the balacan program in Riau Telvision in maintaining regional music in Pekanbaru area. The result of research on the production of the balacan program in Riau Television in maintaining regional music in Pekanbaru area of effective saids to maintaining resilience and perseve regional music in Pekanbaru in the current era  of globalization. Sen from the planning  of the balacan program on displayed of the music regional as many six the regional music to adjus to the peolple who live in Pekanbaru of the multiculture people. Orgnizing of this the balacan program are compiled and have credibility that fits the position in production. Actuatng the belacan program in guided by the host who uses language and fashion is thick wit regional culture. Abstract

Competent television stations capture audience audiences by presenting programs that are certainly packed and presented as exciting as possible including the Exchange Bursa Niaga program. The intense competition in the packaging of this program makes the Bursa Niaga Business Strive to improve the content quality so that it can still attract the audience. For this reason this study aims to see how management includes planning, organizing, moving and supervision in the production of the program Bursa Niaga Trade in Riau Televisi. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive approach. The object of research is the production program management strategy of the Bursa Niaga which is produced by Riau Televisi. Research subjects consist of program producer, cameraman, program kabag, presenter determined by purposive method. Data collection techniques used were observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study describes how the application of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC) in the production management of the program as an effort to produce quality programs. Bursa Niaga applies four stages: (1) planning (planning) carried out in three forms, namely content content planning meetings, financing planning meetings, facility planning and planning time aired. (2) organizing, Bursa Niaga has determined the distribution of each crew on duty onair or Bursa Niaga On The Spot with a specified work description. (3) Actuating (execution) of Bursa Niaga there are two onair and Bursa Niaga On The Spot. Onair begins with the determination of business topics, shooting, while On The Spot begins scriptwriting, taping, and post-production only for Bursa Niaga On The Spot which consists of making rundown events, editing process, and Bursa Niaga program display. (4) controlling conducted by Bursa Niaga shall be one of them in the projection and evaluation meeting. The whole set of processes is a form of management in the Bursa Niaga production process. Abstract

Advertising is a means of mass communication with their communities to like or approve an idea or object. Advertising has been spreading into the political world called political advertising. Advertising political tending to frame the issues developing in the community. As for the media of advertising political also be noted that close to the community one of which is through new media. Gerindra is party who follow a follower of most numerous in new media. One of the his political titled Sarjana, Kerja kerja kerja. This commercial illustrate that many scholars is not currently get a career appropriate. Someone certainly want to feel success in his life, one of them is success in working that marked with the progress of a career. Writing it uses type of writing qualitative descriptive focusing on reception. The author chose alumni Faculty Social and Political Science University of Riau’s alumni for college was a will in direct contact with the world of work. To it every alumni possesses the criteria a career that he wants. The object of this research is political advertising, in this community people will read a text based on the value of that they consider and understand. For that political advertising would be very interesting attention to alumni unri and compared matters relating to other issues. The determination of informant purposive use techniques of sampling and choose seven informants from any course in Faculty Social and Political Science University of Riau’s. Data obtained through a writing observation, interviews and documentation.The results of this study show that the seven informants perceive career selection in Sarjana, Kerja kerja kerja is different, and can be classified into three public positions namely dominant, negotiated and opposition. The dominant position sees that Bachelor's political adverts, career work should be formal, parents want their children to work in a formal environment. The negotiating position has a desire for a career in the company, but does not apply it in his life. In addition, parents should be able to understand the condition of their children if they do not find formal employment. Opposition position contradicts that work does not have to be a formal environment, assessing parental thinking in political advertising is not open. The differences in reception that occur are due to gender, occupation, activities and political support as well as parental support.Key word: Recepstion Analysis, Carier, Advertising Political

Abstract

Pekanbaru city has increased population, that is resulting in declining public facilities, so peoples want to livable city. To realize the peoples desire, Government of pekanbaru city are launched smart city program. In one year of launched the smart city program, there are still many peoples who dont know about smart City program in Pekanbaru, so Diskominfo need to socialize the smart city program. In socializing smart city program, diskominfo conduct a communication planning. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze communication program of the Communications, Information Technology, Statistics and Coding of Pekanbaru City In socializing smart city program.This research uses qualitative descriptive methods, with the subject of research are Head of E-Government Organizer and Staff of Communication, Informatics, Statistic and Coding of Pekanbaru City which is involved in socialization plan of smart city program. Data collected through interviews, observation, and documentations. To test the validity of the data the author uses an extension of participation and triangulation.The results of this research is the meaning of communication planning Diskominfo Pekanbaru city in analyzing the target communications categorized into general goals and special targets, in terms of message design Diskominfo Pekanbaru City convey messages in the form of information and persuasive, in terms of media selection Diskominfo Pekanbaru city using print media and Electronic media, in terms of determination of destination Diskominfo Pekanbaru City run the vision and mission that has been made so that later all layers in the Pekanbaru understand smart city program, and in terms of evaluation smart city program Diskominfo Pekanbaru city has not been maximized.Key Word : Communication Planning, Socialization, Smart City

Abstract

Human Interest Photos is a photo that tells about social criticism and is a photo that contains many social values in it. The phenomenon that occurs in this study shows how a photographer manages photo interest to create a message using symbols, colors, and components displayed in the photo frame.This research uses qualitative method, with shortlist Visual Rhetorical analysis. Subjects focused on photographers as communicators in creating messages, Photography enthusiasts viewed from the use of subject / content,, perspective, and photography enthusiasts as audiences / contexts that explain how photographers use visual rhetoric to create messages on human interest photos. The research object used is Irving Lubis's human interest photo which is curated by www.fine-artportugal.com.The results of this study show that Irving Lubis's human interest photo creates a different message in the view of every audience influenced by the audience's own perspective. Abstract

The ability to write and publish articles in scientific journals is part of the professional competence of the teacher. The problem is that many teachers have not mastered the skills of writing scientific papers. As a result, many teachers find it difficult to advance in rank, especially for promotion after IV/a. This paper describes a community service activity sponsored by Riau University lecturers which aims to help teachers improve their scientific writing skills. Community Service Activities were performed at a SMAIT (Islamic Integrated High School) in Pekanbaru, Riau. This paper further explains the concept of the workshop, the content of the workshop materials, and the effectiveness of the workshop. This workshop lasted for two months with three face-to-face training sessions. The rest was done online via the Google Classroom platform. The material content covers the basic principles of scientific writing, the steps for writing scientific journals, how to cite and make references, including how to automatically quote from reference manager applications such as Mendeley, and how to submit articles through the Online Journal System (OJS). Data from the survey conducted at the end of the community service activity showed that, in general, this activity was well and effectively carried out. The majority of participants (72.7%) stated that their motivation to write increased after attending the training. Their knowledge of writing scientific articles have improved after training. Their ability in writing scientific journals is also relatively better than before following this structured workshop.
