Abstract

Lecturer is a teaching staff in the university. Lecturers play an important role in the implementation of education, but if the lecturer experiences work stress it will affect his performance. Work stress is the main trigger that will affect the performance of lecturers. Lecturers who do not get social support, work in a less conducive environment, and get a lot of workloads are the main factors causing work stress on lecturers. The impact in carrying out the tridharma of higher education will be hampered, research, community service and education will experience delays. The solution has a good stress coping to be an alternative in dealing with work stress experienced by lecturers.

Abstract

Public Speaking adalah bagian dari soft skill yang mengajarkan mengenai keterampilan berbicara di depan umum. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan public speaking pada siswa SMK Tarcisius Pangudi Luhur Semarang. Kegiatan ini berbentuk talkshow tentang public speaking. Kegiatan ini diterima dengan baik oleh peserta dan memberikan hasil yang maksimal melalui metode roleplay agar peserta paham tentang soft skill public speaking dan dapat menerapkan dalam kegiatan sehari-hari di sekolah. Siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dalam penyampaian informasi di depan teman-teman sekolahnya. Siiswa menjadi percaya diri dan tidak gugup dalam menyampaikan informasi didepan teman-teman sekolah.

Abstract

Students often experience excessive anxiety when completing their thesis. This is due to a lack of self-confidence in students. This research aims to see whether there is a relationship between self-confidence and anxiety in students who are doing their thesis. The respondents in this research were 74 students at Karangturi National University, Semarang, class of 2019. The sampling technique in this research was the Saturated Sample Technique. Research data was collected using two scales, namely the self-confidence scale and the anxiety scale. Data analysis uses the Product Moment Correlation Technique. From the results of this research, it was found that there was a negative relationship between self-confidence and anxiety in students who were taking their thesis with a correlation coefficient of -0.330 with a significance of 0.004 (p < 0.05), meaning that the higher the self-confidence, the lower the anxiety. Conversely, the lower self-confidence, the higher the anxiety

Abstract

Dyslexia is a specific learning disability characterized by difficulties in reading. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of flashcard learning media in improving reading comprehension between ages 8 and 11 in the group of children identified with dyslexia. The current research used one group experimental design with five children as participants. Based on the results of the study, showed that there was an influence of flashcard learning media on improving the reading ability of dyslexic children. The results of data analysis using t-test showed that the post-test score (M=20,8) was significantly higher than the pre-test score (M=10,4). Analyses of the whole sample indicated that levels of reading comprehension had improved. The finding of this study could be discussed that using flashcard learning media had a positive effect on reading comprehension in dyslexia children. The Flashcard media were designed to be colourful and easy to understand could stimulate children’s willingness to learn and read.
