Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of growing media combination and water application volume and to determine the best treatment on the growth of palm oil seedling (Elaeis guineensis jacq.)in main nursery. The research was carried out at the Agriculture experimental station faculty of agriculture, University of Riau, from September 2015 to Desember 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. Fist factor is growing medium combination consist of  3 levels of mixture ratio, M1 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(1 : 1), M2 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(2 : 1),M3 : Red Yellow Podzolic and Peat(3 : 1), second factor is water application volume consist of 3 levels which are, V1 : 800 ml/day, V2 : 1.000 ml/day, V3 : 1.200 ml/day. Data were analyzed with further test Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. Parameter observed are seedling height, number of leaf, stem diameter and leaf area. The result of the research showed that the usage of growing medium combination such Red Yellow with Peat Soil 2 : 1 and water application volume 1,2 l/day tend to give good palm oil seedling growth. It is suggested to carry further research with the addition more fertilizer sothat will influence all parameter.Key word ; peat, red yellow podzolic, palm oil seedling, water application volume.

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L) is member of Brassicaceae family. With hight nutritional content pakcoy consumptions in Indonesian society increase every year, but it is still far from the recommended level of the consumption. This research aims to determine the effect of the interaction and single concentration of Herbafarm, growing media, and to obtain the dosage of Herbafarm fertilizer and the best growing medium for the production of pakcoy with NFT hydroponic system. This research has been conducted in Green House Hydroponic at Jl. Tulip Sukajadi, Pekanbaru. This research used split plot design. The first factor was Herbafam fertilizer (H) as a subplot with concentration of Herbafarm 0, 15, 20, and 25 ml.l-1 of water. The second factor are various growing media (M) as the main plot as the growth medium, they arerockwool, cocopeat, and charcoal husk. The result of the variance analysis was continued with further test of honestly significance diffirence (HSD) at 5% level. The observed parameters were plant height (cm), leaf width (cm), number of leaves (strands), wet economic weight (g) and root volume (cm3). The results show that the dosage of Herbafarm fertilizer in pakcoy did not increase the growth and production of pakcoy. The growing medium rockwoolis better to increase the number of leaves, leaf width, economical wet weight and root volume of pakcoy than the cocopeat and charcoal husk as thegrowing media. The combination of organic fertilizers and some growing mediums does not increase the growth and production of pakcoy. Keywords: Pakcoy, Hidroponik, Herbafarm, Rockwool, Cocopeat,Charcoal Husk

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction of soil treatment methods and tofu liquid waste fertilizer on the growth and yield of soybean plants and get the best combination of treatments. This research was carried out at the University of Riau's Faculty of Agriculture's Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) for 4 months from April to July 2018. The study was conducted experimentally in a 3 x 4 factorial form arranged according to a completely randomized design (RAL). The first factor is the method of tillage consisting of three levels: no tillage (TOT), minimum tillage and perfect tillage. The second factor is the dose of tofu liquid waste consists of four levels: 0 ml.2m-2, 250ml.2m-2, 500 ml.2m-2 and 750 ml.2m-2. The parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of pods per plant, number of pithy pods per plant, weight of 100 seeds and dry seed production. Soil processing can accelerate flowering age and harvest age, increase the number of pithy pods per plant and dry seed production of soybean plants. Tofu wastewater fertilizer can increase plant height, accelerate flowering age and weight of 100 soybean seeds. Keywords: tillage, tofu liquid waste, soybeans

Abstract

Triiodobenzoic acid (TIBA) is a plant growth regulator that may accelerate the change of vegetative growth into reproductive growth by modifiying the ratio of hormones that already exist. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of TIBA and phosphorous fertilizer on peanut (Arachis hypogea L.). This study was conducted using a split plot design with three replications. The main plot was three levels of TIBA concentration; ie, 0 ppm, 50 ppm and 75 ppm. Subplot was four levels of phousphorous fertilizer; ie, 0 kg, 11,5 kg, 23 kg and 34,5 kg of  P2O5. Parameters measured were plant height, flowering age, number of primary branches, dry weight of plants at 28 days after planting, dry weight of plant at 35days after planting, plant growth rate, harvest index, pods dry weight per plot and seed weight per plot.The results showed that TIBA significantly affected pods dry weight and seed weight per plot, but not significantly affect plant height, flowering age, number of main branches, dry weight of plants at 28 days after planting, dry weight of plants at 35 days after planting, plant growth rate, and harvest index. Application of phosphorous fertilizer only affected harvest index, pod dry weight and seed weight per plot. TIBA and phosphorous interaction affected pod dry weight and seed weight per plot. Application of P2O5  fertilizer 34,5 kg per ha and TIBA with concentration of 75 ppm resulted higher pod dry weight and seed dry weight per area than other treatments. Keywords:Triiodobenzoic Acid, peanuts, phosphorous, plant height, seed weight.

Abstract

The purpose of this researchis to find out the influence of cocoa pod compost and the best dose on the grounth of cocoa seedling within peat medium. Theresearch was carried out in experimental farmFaculty of Agriculture University of Riau using completely randomized design (CRD).Which consists of 5 treatments and 4 replications.The observations were statistically analyzedfurther testedthe smallest real difference on 5%. Based onresearch results show that the inerease applicationcompost podcocoa give contribution on inereasingparameters seedling height accretion, number of leavesaccretion, leaf area, and seedling dry weight. Whereas parameters trunk circumferenceaccretion, ratio of canopy root get not respon different. Applicationof pod cocoa compostat doses 250g/plant get result supreme at parameters seedling height accretion, number of leaves accretion, trunk circumference accretion,leaf area,ratio of canopy root,seedling dry weight.Keywords : Cocoa Plant, Compost Pod Cocoa, Plant Growth

Abstract

The development of oil palm plantation is closely related to the availability of seed quality. Seed quality will determine whether or not the growth and production of the commodity. Trichocompost applications made from palm fronds provide a good response to the growth of palm oil. Research aims to determine the growth response of some varieties of seedlings of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) on the application of Trichocompost palm oil raw materials in main nursery and which Trichocompost is the best against the growth response of some varieties of oil palm seedlings and interaction of several varieties of seedlings of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) against Trichocompost application raw materials palm oil in the main nursery.                Research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) 2 factors: oil palm varieties (PPKS, Topaz and Socfindo) and Trichocompost (palm fronds, palm leaf and whole palm fronds) with three replications. The experiment was conducted in March-July 2016 at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The results showed that significant effect on native varieties on height increase, the number of leaves increase, diameter hump increase, the ratio of the canopy and root, and  dry weight of oil palm seedlings. Tenera variety of oil palm seedlings DXP Marihat PPKS origin is the best growth response compared to other varieties. Keywords: Palm oil, varieties and Trichocompost

Abstract

The objective of the research is to seek the influence of the type of compound fertilizer which can be used for different types of soil on palm oil seedling in the pre- nursery. This research was conducted in the experimental field and Laboratory of Production Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau in Campus Binawidya Km 12.5 Simpang BaruPekanbaru. The research was lasted 4 month from March 2016 until Juny 2016. Completely Rendomized Design (CRD) was used in this research, with two factors. first factor is three types of compound fertilizer and the second factor is planting medium that consists three level. Parameters measured were seedling height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area. Data obtained from the research results were statistically analyzed by analysis of variance followed by a further test of Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. Based on factor analysis of variance that soil type sigmificantly affected plant height, number of leaves, core diameter, and leaf area of oil palm seedlings. Whereas factor and the interaction type of compound fertilizer and growing media influence the amount is not significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, core diameter, and leaf area of oil palm seedlings age of four months in Pre-nursery. The key word: the type of compound fertilizer, types of soil, the Oil Palm

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out the best dose against the growth of seedlings of cacao. This research was carried out experimentally using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replication, so that there were obtained 20 units experimental each unit countain  2 plant. The treatmentsof fermented manure dosage with TSP fertilizer enriched are: 0 ml/plant,250 ml/plant, 500 ml/plant,750 ml/plant, and 1000 ml/plant. Data obtained from research results are analyzed statistically and further test Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) level of 5%. The observed parameters werecrop, height increase the number of leaves, stem diameter, dry weight and root shoots ratio. The results showed that giving doses of 750 ml/plant gives influenced the growth of seedlings of cocoa and cocoa seedling growth can increase seen in high value added plant parameters, number of leaves, stem diameter, and dry weight of cocoa seedlings.The application of the fermentation of solid dung and urine TSP fertilizer enriched cow can increase the growth of seedlings of cocoa looks at the crop height increase, number of leaves, stem diameter, and dry weight of cocoa seedlings. fermentation of solid dung and urine enriched cow manure is best at doses of TSP dosing 750 ml/plant. the dose is 1000 ml/plant, no longer affected the growth of the seedlings.Keyword : The growth of, cacao seedlings, fermentation, solid dung and cow urine, TSP fertilizer

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of the combination of sawdust ash and chicken manure along with water volume on the growth of oil palm seedling in the prenursery. The research also intended to determine the best dosage of ash and chicken manure combination and water volume application for seedling. This research was carried out at the Agriculture Experimental Station Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau for 4 months since March to July 2016. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of 2 factors. First factor is combination of sawdust ash and chicken manure with three levels ( 10 g/plant, 20 g/plant, and 30 g/plant). Second factor is water application with three levels (100 ml/plant, 200 ml/plant, and 300 ml/plant). Combination of treatsment has 3 replications so that overall become 27 experimental units. Each experimental unit contains 2 seedlings Data obtained was analyzed by Analyis of Variance and further test using Duncan’s New Multi Range Test (DNMRT) at 5 % level. The combination of sawdust ash and chicken manure of 30 g/plant and the water application of 100 ml/plant has good influences on seedling height, stem diameter, and leaf area. Sawdust ash and chicken manure dosage of 30 g/plant good effect on seedling height, stem diameter and leaf area. Water of 100 ml/plant good effect on the number of leaf of oil palm seedling.  Kata kunci : Oil palm, sawdust ash, chicken manure, water.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the response of soybean crops to soil water level and dosing of compound fertilizer in peat media. Performed from January to April 2017. This study used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) which consists of 2 factors. The first factor is the groundwater level (T) 15 cm below the soil surface, 20 cm below the soil surface and 25 cm below the soil surface. The second factor is dosing of compound fertilizer (A) 200 kg/ha, 250 kg/ha and 300 kg/ha. The parameters observed were plant height, percentage of pods, root dry weight per plant, dry weight of crop per plant, plant age start flowering, number of primary branch, percentage of pods, dry seed weight per plant and 100 seed weight. The data obtained were analyzed statistically with vocabulary and continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. The results showed that the high water level of 25 cm and the dosage of 300kg/ha compound gave the best result on the parameters of plant height, the age of the flowering plants, the dry weight of the roots per plant, the dry weight of crop per plant and the weight of dry seed per plant. Keywords: Soybean, Water table height, Compound Fertilizer, Peatland
