Abstract

The cost of biodiesel production process is still a challenge, it needs to explore any raw material which is economically inexpensive and effective technologies to overcome the problem. CPO off grade is deemed economically potential to be processed into biodiesel because its inexpensive cost . Membrane reactor is an alternative technology that need to be developed  to address this challenge . The research aimed to study the effect of oil to methanol mole ratio and transmembrane pressure on biodiesel production from CPO Off Grade . The study was conducted using two- step process , namely the process of esterification and transesterification process . Esterification process was carried out with variation of oil to methanol mole ratio of 1:12. The amount acid catalyst used is  2 % by weight of oil and reaction time of 2 hours . Transesterification process is carried out on membrane reactor with  variation of oil to methanol mole ratio of 1:12 , 1:16 and 1:20 and transmembrane pressure of 1 bar , 1.5 bar , 2 bars and a catalyst concentration of 1 wt% base oil and process temperature of 60 º C. The results showed the highest conversion reached 80.14 % at the mole ratio of 1:20 and transmembrane pressure of 2 bar    Keywords : Biodiesel, CPO Off Grade, Membrane Reactor, Mole ratio, Transmembran Pressure.

Abstract

Produced water is water that obtained from the process of oil mining. Based on the characteristic that the produced water is classified as to the wastewater, required treatment before being discharged into water bodies. One of the alternative technologies that can be used for produced water treatment is membrane technology. The main challenge in the use of membrane technology is fouling. This research aims to study the trans-membrane pressure on flux, study the effectiveness and efficiency of NaOH and detergent in the regeneration process of ultrafiltration membranes on operation filtration of produced water. The study was conducted using ultrafiltration membranes by feeding produced water. The method used is by varying the operating pressure of 0.5 bar and 1 bar, variations in the concentration of NaOH and Detergents 0.5%, 1% and 1,5%. Filtration process of produced water lasted for 120 minutes and  each leaching time is 30 minutes, the highest effectiveness rate of 30.55% obtained by using detergent 1.5%, the highest leaching efficiency based on flux recovery value is 69.66% and 30.55% for removal resistance, the highest flux value after chemical leaching obtained 0.8950 ml/menit.cm2 in trans-membrane pressure of 0.6 bar and the concentration of the detergent 1.5%.  Keywords: Cross flow; Detergen; NaOH; Produced water; Ultrafiltration.

Abstract

Membrane reactor is an alternative technology is used to produce of biodiesel, one of the advantages of the reaction and separation process takes place in a single stage simultaneous. This research aims to study the effect of the variation of the catalyst and mole ratio feed catfish oil - methanol in biodiesel production, transesterification process in a membrane reactor with a variation of the mole ratio of catfish oil - methanol 1:10, 1:14, and 1:18, the concentration of the base catalyst 0,5% -wt, 1% -wt and 1,5% -wt, pressure transmembrane 1 and 2 bar and a temperature of 60 oC process. The results showed biodiesel production using membrane reactor reached 93,89 % yield on the condition of the mole ratio of 1:14 with a concentration of 1,5 %-wt, characteristics of biodiesel produced meets the quality standards of biodiesel in Indonesia including biodiesel, density 857,3 kg/m3, kinematic viscosity of biodiesel is 5.6 mm2/s, Flash Point 145 °C, Acid Number 0.549 mg-KOH/g, Cetane Number 53,72.Keywords : biodiesel, catfish oil, transesterification

Abstract

Biodiesel is an alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from fatty material such as animal fat. A research synthesis of biodiesel from waste CPO(Crude Palm Oil) into biodiesel with a KOH catalyst. In this research review of physical properties (density, viscosity and acid number), analyzing the chemical content of biodiesel, the influence of the molar ratio of methanol to CPO(Crude Palm Oil) the percentage of conversion and optimal transesterification catalyst in the transesterification reaction in biodiesel synthesis. 300 grams of CPO(Crude Palm Oil), versus 1:14 methanol to oil molar, catalyst 1% of the weight of oil input into the biodiesel reactor and then the process of biodiesel synthesis performed on the operating conditions of 60 ° C temperature  for 150 minutes. The results showed that the optimum conversion catalyst with 1% methanol 1:14 molar ratio that is equal to 85,45%. Physical test results obtained by the density of 888 kg/m3, 5,94 cSt viscosity, acid number 0.707 mg-koh/gr sample. Results obtained have characteristics approaching the characteristics of biodiesel Indonesian National Standard (SNI). Kata kunci : CPO(Crude Palm oil), Biodiesel, transesterification, Conversion

Abstract

Indonesia is faced with an energy crisis fuel . This condition makes the business opportunity of biodiesel production is still promising . One of the technologies in generating alternative energy is the conversion of Jatropha oil into biodiesel using membrane reactor . This research aims to study the effect of variations in the molar ratio of castor oil with methanol to biodiesel conversion and the effect of reaction time on conversion , as well as studying the characteristics of biodiesel produced . The process of making biodiesel using membrane reactor polypropilen pore size of 0.1 lm diameter with a maximum temperature of 55 º C and a maximum pressure of 1 bar . Variation is the molar ratio of 1:10, 1:15 and 1:20 and the time variation of 1 , 2 and 3 hours . The highest biodiesel yield at a ratio of 1:20 was 97.35 % at the reaction time of 1 hour . Results Characterization of physical properties of blends of biodiesel which meets the quality standards of the kinematic viscosity of biodiesel ranges between 4.01-4,24 cSt and biodiesel ranges 0874-0883 g/cm3 density and acidity rate ranged between 0.56-0.71 mg KOH / g sample . Molar variation affects the quality of the biodiesel produced is at a molar ratio of 1:20 .  Keywords : Biodiesel , Membrane Reactor , molar ratio , reaction time.

Abstract

There have been several methods widely developed for crude palm oil (CPO) extraction from palm oil fruits, which produces liquid waste around 60% from the total production capacity. This liquid waste contains organic over than maximum limit, which is permitted by environmental quality standards of ministerial decision LH No. KEP-51/ MENLH/ 1995. one of the technologies that can be used is the Ozonation technology. It is done by contacting Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) with ozone. Ozon is produced from  the ozone generator with 18 watt power, with concentration 0,1068 mg/s.  Ozone serves to reduce chemical oxygen demand (COD), oil, and total solid (TTS) in crude palm oil factory. This research was conducted with variation of PH, 8,10, and 12 with NaOH addition  and variation of time 10, 20, 30, 40 minutes. The research finding obtained that the efficiency  chemical oxygen demand (COD) could reach maximum 90 % , with PH 8 in 40 minutes.  Keyword: COD, POM, Ozonation, Total solid

Abstract

Membrane reactor is an alternative technology that is used in the manufacture of biodiesel, one of the advantages that the reaction and separation process takes place in a single stage simultaneous. This research aims to study the effect of the variation of the catalyst and mole ratio feed CPO off grade - methanol in biodiesel production, a pretreatment process performed on the raw materials that aim to reduce the FFA content CPO off grade, the results obtained pretreatment FFA content of 0.79%, then performed transesterification process which was held in a membrane reactor with a variation of the mole ratio of CPO off grade -methanol 1:12, 1:18, and 1:24, the concentration of the base catalyst 1% -wt, 1.5% -wt and 2% -wt, pressure transmembrane 2 bar and a temperature of 60 oC process. The results showed biodiesel production using membrane reactor reached 72.02% yield on the condition of the mole ratio of 1:18 with a concentration of 2 %-wt, characteristics of biodiesel produced meets the quality standards of biodiesel in Indonesia including biodiesel, densityis 860-884 kg/m3, viscosity of biodiesel is 5.14 to 5.76 mm2/s, Flash Point is 158-161 °C, Acid Numberis 0.62 to 0.75 mg-KOH/g.Keywords: biodiesel, CPO off grade, membrane reactor, mol ratio, catalyst concentration.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to find out the level of the fifth semester students of English Study Program FKIP Universitas Riau in vocabulary knowledge. The sample of this research is class 5C of the third year students of English Study Program which were choosen by using cluster random sampling technique. The number of the students is 37 students. The data obtained by giving multiple choice tests to students that is adapted by Paul Nation level test . The test asked the students to choose the appropriate vocabulary based on the context of the test. The test consist of 8 indicators of vocabulary. There are noun, verb, adjective, adverb, pronoun, synonym, antonym and context clues. The result shows that the students score in vocabulary knowledge is 68.1, and the students have problem in antonym with mean score 39,45 % of correct answers. In conclusion, from the result above shows that the students vocabulary knowledge level of FKIP Universitas Riau is in good level but having problem in finding antonym.Key Words: Study, Vocabulary,Knowledge

Abstract: Research of the analysed grammatical errors was conducted in Mai 2019 in the Faculty of Teachers Training and Education University of Riau with the aim to analyz the students errors in writing some paragraph .The method used is the writing test. The objective of the study is to describe the grammatical errors and infer the causes or sources of those errors in writing made by the Fourth semester students of English FKIP UR The results show, the highest error category is the omission errors commited 281 times or 47.22% and the highest factor of errors is developmental committed errors 302 times or 35.99%Key Words: Writing, Error Analisys

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses student’s errors in using punctuation when writing narrative text and analyzes what possible causes of errors in writing punctuation in narrative text which made by the tenth year students of SMAN 2 Tapung. In this study, 30 students employed were taken as the sample of this research. These 30 students consits of 3 classes, there for classes X1, X2, and X3, each class is taken 10 students. This study used descriptive qualitative research. The descriptive qualitative data were collected from the tests by filling the correct punctuation marks in the narrative text that has been provided. The findings of this study indicate that students still do not understand the use of punctuation in writing narrative text. The punctuation marks used in this study are comma, period, capital letter, exclamation marks and question marks. There are many errors in the use of capital letter. However, in the use of question marks, students’ abilities can be categorized as good. This phenomena happened because the students are lack of knowledge about punctuation, and the students still confused to apply the type of punctuation. Key Words: Errors, Punctuation, Narrative Text
