Abstract

Abstract : This research aimed to know the improvement on students’ critical thinking skills and to know the difference of students’ learning outcomes between grade X MIA 5 that learned through guided inquiry learning model and grade X MIA 3 that learned through conventional method. This research was conducted from March until August 2017. This was an quasy experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was all students of grade X MIA of MAN 1 Pekanbaru. The sampling method used was simple random sampling consisted of 57 students, grade X MIA 5 was randomly assigned as an experimental class consisted of 28 students and grade X MIA 3 as the control class consisted of 29 students. The data collection instrument used in this research was multiple choice questions. Based on analyze of comprehension tests, of post-test showed that the mean percentage experiment class was 63,57 % and control class was 51,72 %. Furthermore N-Gain of critical thinking skill was 0,43 on experiment class and 0,06 on control class. Based on analyze of t-test, there was a significant improvement critical thinking skills students learning outcomes between students learned through guided inquiry learning model and those who only learned through conventional method. The result of descriptive analyze and inferential analyze application of guided inquiry learning model of impulse and momentum materials can improvement critical thinking skills at grade X MIA MAN 1 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Critical thinking skills, guided inquiry learning, momentum and impulse

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the learning outcomes of Senior High School 1 rupat utara students by applying the time token learning model accompanied by question card media and knowing the difference in learning outcomes between students who apply the time token learning model accompanied by the question card media with conventional models. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with posttest-only design. The population is all students of class XI Science Senior High School 1 Rupat Utara in the 2018/2019 school year. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class XI Science 1, which numbered 30 people as the experimental class and class XI Science 2, which numbered 29 people as the control class. This research instrument uses cognitive test questions. Data were analyzed descriptively by looking at differences in students cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class then analyzed inferentially using the T-Test. The results of data analysis obtained are the average absorption of the experimental class with the value obtained is 79.17% and 72.07% control class. The absorption percentage of the experimental class and the control class are in the good category with a value difference of 7.1%. Based on the results of this research it can be concluded that the application of the time token learning model along with the media card questions can improve student cognitive learning outcomes in the material temperature, heat, and heat transfer of class XI Science in Senior High School 1 Rupat Utara.Key Words: Time Token, Question card, Cognitive Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: Student motivation is still low, time is limited in learning physics, and there are some abstract learning materials that are difficult to understand, resulting in misconceptions. So a research was carried out on the development of powtoon-based learning videos with the flipped classroom approach on temperature and heat material for class XI SMA which aims to develop and determine the validity of powtoon-based learning videos along with learning tools in the form of RRP and LKPD so that they can be an alternative in solving some of these problems. This study uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE development model which in practice is carried out only up to the development stage. From the average results of the video validation, RPP, and LKPD, it is found that the categories are very valid, valid, and valid, so that they are declared worthy of being used in learning.Key Words: Learning Videos, Powtoon, Flipped Classroom, Temperature and Heat

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in physics learning outcomes class XI SMAN 3 Dumai using problem based learning model with Phymagz media. The form of this study was Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample of research is student of XI MIPA3 as experiment class and class XI MIPA2 as control class. Instrumen of data collection is the result of cognitive learning given to the sample before and after the learning. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive and inferential anaysis. The result showed the students average absorption by applying problem based learning model with phymagz media is higher than the application of conventional learning. Thus concluded that the application of learning problem based learning model with phymagz media can improve student learning outcomes in learning physics in static fluid in class XI MIPA SMAN 3 Dumai.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Physics Magazine, Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the increase in learning motivation of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru by applying learning based on Pictorial Riddle to light material and optical devices. The type of research used is pre-experiment with the research design is one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were class VIIIHN students of SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2018/2019 which amounted to 36 students. The research data is learning motivation data cosisting of pretest and posttest scores through the application of learning based on Pictorial Riddle. The instrument used to collect data in this study was the John Keller ARCS motivation questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively through the calculation of N-Gain using Hake’s motivation criteria and formulas. The results of the analysis of the data obtained are, the are changes in the average score of the initial motivation score. Obtained an increase in the average score of student learning motivation for all indicators with N-Gain of 0,54 moderate categories. So that it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning motivation before and after applying learning based on Pictorial Riddle to light material and optical devices.Key Words: Pictorial Riddle, Learning Motivation, Light and Optical Devices.

Abstract

Abstract :This research aims to know the influence of students' misconceptions towards the physics learning outcomes on the force concept and its applications in SMP I Kuok Kabupaten Kampar. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey method. The subject of reasearch was 82 students selected randomly as samples from overall population of class VIII students. The instruments used in this research is the diagnostic test to indicate the level of students’ misconceptions. Besides researcher also done documentation of physics learning outcomes on the concept of the force and its application.The analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. From descriptive analysis informed that students’ misconceptions reached very high level while physics learning outcomes was at low level. Inferential analysis consist of correlation and regression analysis. Correlation analysis of both variables produced a coefficient correlation-0,260. It showed that correlation between students’ misconceptions and physics learning outcomes was low and not unidirectional. Regression analysis showed the contribution of students’ misconceptions toward physics learning outcomes by -0.480. Students’ misconceptions influence 6,8% of physics learning outcomes significantly. This result informed that students’ misconceptions influence physics learning outcomes on the force concept and its applications in SMP I Kuok Kabupaten Kampar negatively and significantly.Keyword : Students’ misconceptions, Physics Learning Outcomes, Force Concept and its Applications

Abstract

Abstract : Science learning in junior high schools still uses traditional learning which places the teacher as the center (teacher centered) dominated by the lecture method. Students active in the class, the learning cycle 5e learning model is used with the help of a talking stick game. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in student learning outcomes with classes that apply the learning cycle 5e learning model with conventional learning models. The type of research used is Quasy Experimental with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The samples in this study were students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru class VII.1 as the control class and class VII.2 as the experimental class consisting of 46 people. The data collection instrument was in the form of a learning achievement test which consisted of 10 multiple questions on temperature and heat. The data analysis used was descriptive analysis through cognitive learning outcomes and inferential analysis through normality, homogeneity, and independent T-test tests with the help of SPSS version 23. The results of this study were taken from descriptive analysis, namely the post-test score was found to be 76.08 with good category and inferential (sig) 0.008 <0.05 so that Ho is rejected, meaning that there are differences in cognitive learning outcomes of students between the experimental class and the control class. So it can be concluded that descriptive and inferential analysis can improve the cognitive learning outcomes of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru students.Keywords :Model Learning Cycle 5e, Talking Stick Game, Cognitive Learning Outcomes, Temperature and Heat
