Abstract

The matter of fishery resources is one of the important problems in the capture fishery development because the condition of most capture fisheries is over exploitation. The research objectives were (1) to analyze the utilization level of fishery resources with Purse Seine nets, and (2) determine the strategy for managing fishery resources with purse seine nets in Pati Regency. The sampling method used simple random sampling with 56 Purse Seine fishermen as a sample size. The research locations consist of Bajomulyo Village and Bendar one in Juwana Subdistrict, Pati Regency. Data analysis used (a) Total Allowable Catch (TAC) calculation, (b) AHP to determine strategy priorities. Research results: the utilization rate is 102.48%, meanwhile management strategies based on the aspect priority order of management for capture fishery resources are human resources, fish resources, infrastructure and institutions, while the priority order based on alternative criteria are the improvement of human resources expertise of ship masters, protection of the stability of fishery commodity prices, improvement of fishing gear operating skills for the boat crews and making adequate boat moorings around the fish auction.

Abstract

The high production and export in processed form of shrimp produces side product in the form of shrimp shell waste. The problem faced was so far, the shrimp shell waste has not been processed into products that have high selling value, namely in the form of organic fertilizer and liquid fertilizer containing chitin. The research objective was to formulate strategy in the effort to develop shrimp shell waste processing business. This research is a descriptive with quantitative and qualitative approach and was held in May-October 2018. Locations in Situbondo and Banyuwangi Regencies. Respondents came from 2 districts, namely Situbondo and Banyuwangi Regency. Data collection techniques with FGD and filling out questionnaires. Data analysis using SWOT analysis and QSPM. Research results are the order of priority strategies: (1) protection and commitment to business development, (2) increasing business capacity and quality of human resources of business people, (3) business promotion in coastal areas that are potential in the market to investors, (4) efforts to open market access for shrimp shell waste processing products, (5) dissemination of the existence of shrimp shell waste processing business to the community, (6) synergy between joint unit group and the government in the development of processing businesses.

Abstract

The Fish Auction Place has a function as a marketing place for fishermen’s catches through the auction process. The auction activities carried out by the Class II TPI in Pati Regency showed that the performance was not optimal. The purpose of this research was to analyze the factors that influence the performance of class II fish auctions place in the Pati Regency. The research locations were the Banyutowo Fish Auction Place and the Puncel Fish Auction Place. Research time was held from January to October 2021. The number of research samples was 110 respondents. Data analysis with Structural Equation Modeling with AMOS software. The results showed that the factors that influence the performance of class II fish auctions place were planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. These four variables have a positive and significant effect on the performance of class II fish auctions placed in the Pati Regency. The driving factor has the greatest influence on the performance of class II fish auctions in the Pati Regency with a standard regression coefficient value of 0.365. If actuating is getting better, the achievement of performance indicators was higher. On the other hand, if actuating gets weaker, the achievement of performance indicators was lower. Thus, the actuating factor needs to get greater attention in the management of the class II fish auction place in Pati Regency.
