Abstract

Jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) merupakan bahan pangan yang sangat digemari  masyarakat. Seleni­um adalah salah satu mikronutrien essensial yang masih rendah pemenuhannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan un­tuk menganalisa beberapa faktorr yang berpengaruh dalam fortifikasi selenium pada jamur tiram putih. Jamur tiram putih merupakan tanaman saprofit yang menyerap bahan makanan dari media tanam untuk pertumbuh­annya, karena itu masa pertumbuhan dan kandungan badan buahnya dipengaruhi oleh komposisi dan keasam­an (pH) media tanam. Makalah ini akan memaparkan tentang pengaruh keasaman (pH) dan waktu panen ter­ha­dap kandungan selenium badan buah jamur tiram. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa, per­tum­buhan miselium jamur paling cepat terjadi pada jamur tiram yang ditanam pada media tanam pH 8. Kadar selenium pada badan buah jamur dipengaruhi oleh lama pertumbuhan miselium jamurnya, jamur yang ditanam pada media dengan pH 6 memiliki kadar selenium yang paling tinggi, serta terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kadar selenium badan buah jamur yang dikumpulkan dari waktu panen pertama dan waktu panen ke­dua. White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is a very popular  food. Selenium is one of  the essential micro­nutrients for human. The intake of selenium is low. The aim of  this research is to analyze some factors  that affect to selenium fortification on white oyster mushrooms. White oyster mushrooms are saprophytic plants that absorb their food from their growing media, so the growth periode and  their fruit body content is influ­enc­ed by the composition and the acidity (pH) of  their growing media. This paper describes about the effect of acidity (pH) and the harvesting time on the selenium content of oyster mushroom. From the results, we conclu­d­­ed that  the most rapid growth of mycelium occurred on the oyster mushroom that  grown on growing media with pH 8. The selenium content of mushroom fruit body are influenced by their mycelia growing period, the oyster mushroom that grown on growing media with pH 6 had the highest selenium content ,and  there is sig­ni­ficant difference between the content of selenium of the mushroom fruit body that collected from the first and second harvesting time.

Abstract

Plants produce volatiles as communication cues intra- or inter- species. Infested plants by herbivores will produce volatiles as indirect defense mechanism that attracts natural enemies of herbivores. Analysis of volatiles compounds produced by rice plant as result of infested brown plant hopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens Stâl, was done to identify compounds in the volatiles that potentially can be used as attractant for egg parasitoids of BPH, Anagrus nilaparvatae (Pang et Wang) (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae). This research was an early stage to develop formulation of parasitoid attractant. The research activities include volatiles extraction of infested rice stem by BPH eggs using acetone, n-hexane as the extraction solvents; analyses of volatile compounds with GC-MS; and bioassay of parasitoid orientation behavior to the volatiles using olfactometer methods. Extraction methods applied were maceration and continuous extraction followed by concentration. Bioassay on the parasitoid orientation behavior was done by using Y-tube olfactometer and every lot of bioassay using 30 parasitoid females with 3 replicates. The results showed that the volatile compounds of extract of infested rice stem by BPH eggs comprise of 16 components. The highest proportion of the components extracted with acetone is 2-Pentanone, 4-hydroxy-4-methyl (19,9%), while those with n-hexane is Hexanedioic acid, dioctyl ester (65%). A. nilaparvatae showed positive response to the volatiles extracted from infested rice plant by N. lugens eggs. Therefore, the volatiles can be used as an attractant for the egg A. nilaparvatae to support rice pest management.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of Instagram media on students' interest in learning group I and II cation analysis materials. The data collection method used qualitative analysis with a descriptive approach. The results of the media validation get an average score of 84.27%, so the media is very feasible to be used in this study. Respondents in this study were students who followed the @kimiafun2022 Instagram account and interacted in answering questions and responses on Instagram. The study results show that the Instagram application can effectively increase student interest in learning about group I and II cation analysis materials, which is considered problematic

Abstract

Information and communication technology development demands a transformation of education, especially in fulfilling innovation in learning media. Learning media is an urgent means of teaching and learning chemistry. Students' skills can be developed by increasing motivation and collaboration through digital technology. This research aims to determine the effect of the integrated Instagram (IG) and TikTok with the PBL learning model on student learning outcomes in qualitative analysis courses. The research method used was a quasi-experimental research design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. The sample used came from a 2nd-year undergraduate student, Department of Chemistry, the State University of Malang, which consisted of 4 classes, two control classes with 44 students and two experimental classes with 50 students. Data analysis used preliminary tests and hypothesis testing. The preliminary test of the research data showed that the data were not normally distributed, so the hypothesis test used the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the hypothesis test show the Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.021 (0.021<0.05), it can be concluded that the use of integrated IG and TikTok learning media with the PBL learning model can increase student learning outcomes of 2nd-year undergraduate students on qualitative analysis of cation

Abstract

SMPN 4 Pasuruan merupakan salah satu sekolah negeri di Kota Pasuruan, sekolah ini terletak di Kecamatan Purworejo di Kota Pasuruan. Lebih tepatnya berada di Jalan RW. Monginsidi, No. 56, Kebonagung, Kecamatan Purworejo, Kota Pasuruan, Jawa Timur, 67111. Pengabdian ini merupakan bagian dari skema Pengabdian Mahasiswa kategori bidang sains, teknologi, dan lingkungan, melalui bidang unggulan penerapan ipteks untuk pengelolaan potensi unggulan lokal Jawa Timur. Pengabdian ini dilakukan  dengan beberapa tahap, yaitu 1) Melakukan sosialisasi kepada siswa ataupun siswi SMPN 4 Pasuruan mengenai kandungan dan potensi bahan hayati lokal (minyak jelantah) untuk dibuat biodiesel secara mandiri dalam memproduksi minyak tersebut menggunakan sel elektrolisis dengan potensi pemasaran produknya, 2) Melakukan pendampingan secara langsung untuk melatih siswa atau siswi SMPN 4 Pasuruan tersebut dan penyediaan peralatan produksi minyak jelantah dan, 3) Pembuatan laporan. Luaran yang dijanjikan dari pengabdian ini adalah 1) Laporan Kemajuan dan Akhir, 2) Publikasi artikel ilmiah/media sosial. Kesimpulan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan keterampilan dan pengetahuan kepada para peserta yang merupakan siswa/i maupun guru SMPN 4 Pasuruan tentang pemanfaatan minyak jelantah untuk membuat produk kewirausahaan. Target yang dicapai dalam program ini adalah peserta mampu mengetahui dan mengolah bahan utama berupa minyak jelantah menjadi produk kewirausahaan yang lebih bermanfaat.

Abstract

An attempt to have a scientific course for the public from higher education institutions was done by preparing a good set of contents for one particular topic of interest, which is also a science topic. Coffee chemistry is the topic chosen and some content was developed, including videos, audio-embedded social media, infographics and motion graphics packed with 8 topics. The choice of coffee amongst many sciences’ topic is considered strategic in bringing science to all audiences of society. Science content must explain nature as the object in wholistic concepts, starting from smaller parts of each division, including chemistry. The microlearning approach is employed in the MOOC platform from The State University of Malang, Indonesia. This also is one of the three main tasks of higher education institutions which can be delivered in the MOOC system.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of using integrated learning media TikTok and Instagram in increasing students' learning motivation in qualitative analysis materials for groups I and II. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method using a distributed questionnaire to determine the increase in students' learning motivation. This research was conducted in one of the State Vocational High Schools in Malang City which involved 29 students of class XII Analytical Chemistry 1. Data analysis was in the form of a qualitative test on students' learning motivation. The results of the study indicate that the use of TikTok and Instagram learning media can increase students' motivation to study qualitative analysis materials for groups I and II. The existence of integrated learning media for TikTok and Instagram social media, allows students to learn material anytime and anywhere.
