Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to examine whether there are differences in terms of effectivity in the learning experiences on thematic learning in fourth grade. The research was conducted at SD Regina Caeli, Bogor. The type of research is a quasi experiment with the nonequivalent control group design. Data was collected through administering pretest and posttest in experiment group 1 using learning experience of reading, listening, watching video and experiment group 2 using learning experience of discussion, presentation, and role playing. The collected data was analyzed through scoring, converting, determining average, determining frequency distribution, and comparising the mean. The hypothesis test was analyszed using independent t test. The result of the research showed that there was a significant difference of effectiveness. The result showed tcount = 2,219> ttable = 2,005 in which the post-test score in the two groups were compared. The result indicated H0 was rejected. The effectiveness as indicated by comparing the pre-test and post-test score in the experiment group 2 with learning experience of discussion, presentation, and role playing showed t-test scored 3,316 which was higher thanthe ttable 2,005. It indicated that H0 was rejected. It can also be seen that the improvement of learning experience through the learning outcomes in the control class was 18.53 point from the mean pretest 56.79 and the postest 75.32. While in the experimental class there is an increase 25.07 point from the mean pretest 56.07 and the posttest 81.14. It concludedthat there was diffrenece in terms of effectiveness in the learning experience in the thematic learning for fourth graders of Regina Caeli Elementary School, with the most effective learning experience found in the experimental group 2 through the experience of learning discussion, presentation and role play.   Keywords: Learning Experiences, Effectivity Differences, Thematic Learning

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menyadarkan warga sekolah (guru dan siswa) SD Fransiskus Lampung bahwa pendidikan multikutural penting untuk diimplementasikan dan dapat mengembangkan karakter yang menghargai perbedaan. Lampung menjadi tempat pengabdian karena konflik antar suku sudah beberapa kali terjadi. Metode pelaksanaannya adalah melakukan survey awal ke SD Fransiskus Lampung untuk melakukan analisis kebutuhan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan, dirancang  kegiatan yaitu seminar dengan guru-guru SD dan kegiatan mengajar di kelas oleh mahasiswa secara berkelompok. Mahasiswa didampingi membuat rancangan pembelajaran dengan berbagai permainan dengan mengaplikasikan teori yang mereka pelajari dari mata kuliah pendidikan multikultural dan pendidikan karakter. Hasil akhir dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah, guru-guru mempunyai gambaran tentang pelaksanaan pendidikan multikultural di kelas. Pendidikan multikultural dimaknai sebagai pendekatan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dimana siswa yang beragam disatukan dengan berbagai permainan. Artinya siswa mengalami bukan hanya diceramahi. Topik ini  merupakan pengetahuan baru bagi guru dan guru merasakan manfaat pentingnya materi yang diberikan khususnya dengan melihat situasi wilayah mereka yang beberapa tahun terakhir ini terjadi konflik antarbudaya. Siswa juga merasakan bahwa belajar dengan mahasiswa sangat menyenangkan bagi mereka. Melalui kegiatan ini, disarankan agar pendidikan multikultural yang dapat mengembangkan karakter menghargai perbedaan dapat terintegrasi dengan kegiatan belajar siswa SD.

Abstract

Tugas seorang dosen tidak hanya mengajar, tetapi juga harus melakukan penelitian dan pengabdian masyarakat. Sebagai konsekuensinya, dosen dituntut mampu melakukan penelitian. Dosen ARO GAPOPIN Pondok Aren Tangerang belum mempunyai pengalaman penelitian yang terkait dengan pengajarannya, kecuali ketika mereka skripsi dan tesis. Kami mengadakan pelatihan dan pendampingan bagi dosen ARO GAPOPIN dengan tujuan agar para dosen mampu  melakukan penelitian dan membuat artikel. Pendekatan pelatihan dengan Student Centered Learning (SCL) diawali  dengan need assessment, mendesain dan melaksanakan pelatihan, evaluasi dan pendampingan. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan kemampuan penelitian dosen ARO GAPOPIN mengalami peningkatan. Kesimpulannya kegiatan pelatihan penelitian bagi dosen ARO GAPOPIN dapat dikatakan cukup berhasil karena setidaknya ada satu artikel yang berhasil dipublikasikan ke jurnal.

Abstract

Corruption has already become a part of culture in the society. Corruption happens in both government and private sector; the most concerning thing is the involvement of the head of institutions which supposed to be a role model for young generation. There are a lot of things have been done to decrease our corruption cases from law perspective, unfortunately a preventive attempt from education perspective has not much been applied. Anti-corruption education is a preventive effort to build self-awareness and integrity against corruptive behavior. The research objective was to obtain an overview of whether anti-corruption education could develop students’ sensitivity and concern for corruption issues. The research method used is action research through collective self-reflection which is integrated with the student-centered learning approach carried out in groups and is achieved through reflective critical action of group members as individuals whose learning outcomes are measured. There were 25 university students from 7 faculties participated in this research. The findings showed that students were able to identify corrupt actions based on personal and group experiences. Participants were also able to identify the impact of time corrupt behavior on individuals and institutions. In the reflection stage, participants reveal the values of integrity such as honesty, responsibility and consistency between attitudes and behavior, as well as religious values which believed to be a fortress against corrupt actions. The action research is followed up by making an action plan to become a person with an integrity and in managing anti-corruption student organizations.

Abstract

The development research aims to produce a book for students to start reading and writing based on the Mentawai culture. The development of student book products refers to the ADDIE development mode. The results of the development research show the student books are categorized verry well from the aspect of material content, material accuracy, linguistics with the accumulation of the validity score range wich is 92%, while the student book design is categorized as verry good from aspects of book size, book cover design, book content design, book content illustrations with an accumulation of the validity score range of 94,26%. This shows that student book can be used in learning activities. The results of the analysis obtained criteria 81%-100%, then the qualified student’s book was verry good for use in learning. The culture-based reading and writing students’ book that was developed is said to be suitable for use learning activities.

Abstract

The impact of the new identities of Covid-19 such as confirmed as positively infected, conducted self-isolation, stimulate intolerant attitudes in society. The public's attitudes towards the Covid-19 cases are very substantially contrary to the values in a multicultural society. The panic buying of medical equipment, medicines and vitamins, refusing the Covid-19 burial protocols even for medical personnel. This activity is an integration of multicultural education courses with community service. The purpose of this activity is to promote a campaign for individual identity, empathy, critical thinking, equal interaction, cooperative interaction, openness, and different status elimination. Videos are given directly to the community and through social media as the campaign process. In preparation and implementation, lecturers are assisted by students to create innovative media related to the current situation. There are 10 groups that produce media, in the form of animated videos. Before the media is used, there is a product evaluation by lecturers and classmates. After the revision, the media is used to conduct a multicultural campaign in the society. As a result of this activity, more than 1000 people who were exposed to the campaign, almost all considered it positive because the messages conveyed were delivered to the community.

Abstract

This reasearch aims to develop a model of multicultural education. The results of this reasearchs is the design of learning activities in the classroom. By using the media video in the above activity with make the student more inter¬ested because it matchs with the situation of students, so it helps the students understand the material. The tools of evalu- ation is relevant to the material, so then the students will able to think critically and re ec- tively. Self-learning moduls developed more easily to be understood, and the activities of self-learning are designed for more easily to be followed by students, so the objectives will be achieved successfully. The guidance of lecturers is made to help the lecturers implement multicultural education in the classroom.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is exploring the reflection of prospective of elementary school teachers on the multicultural learning model by using the Qualitative Method. The student’s reflections focus on materials, methods, media and learning assessments. The method used is content analysis of each student's reflection in two semesters and unstructured interviews to confirm the reflection. The results of this research show that the identity of material is considered important, it is because the human has many identities, not only single identity. In the learning process used the method to make the analogy of the images or the objects that upload on Moodle, and then get the comments by peers. This method seems to be able to increase self-esteem and respect of other people who had different identity. Film discussions about sensitive topics that’s get from YouTube also able to make students think critically, assertive, and agree to disagree, so then the conflicts do not need to be occur. Learning about the local wisdom such the Baduy tribe through movie of Baduy also can increase the respect to the Baduy tribe, respect to the culture of students themselves, and eliminate prejudice of stereotypes. In conclusion, in the digital era learning models with various methods, various media, and reflection-based assessments can develop the character of respecting differences in a multicultural society. As prospective teachers, students are inspired to apply when they become teachers.

Abstract

Budaya membaca dan literasi siswa di Indonesia masih rendah, ini terlihat dari hasil beberapa penelitian tentang membaca.  Kecepatan membaca dan pemahaman membaca yang rendah, sangat terkait dengan metode yang diterapkan guru, dan ketersediaan buku-buku yang menarik.  Guru disarankan harus lebih meningkatkan minat membaca dengan  menggunakan metode yang variasi.  Pemanfaatan buku – buku yang menarik seperti buku dongeng, cerita rakyat dapat membantu merangsang pembiasaan siswa dalam membaca. Tahun 2016 terobosan besar untuk mendorong tumbuhnya minat baca dan pembentukan karakter siswa telah dilakukan melalui Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS).  Kegiatan wajib siswa adalah melakukan 15 menit membaca sebelum jam pembelajaran dimulai. Sayangnya, masih ada sekolah yang belum melaksanakan GLS yang sesuai dengan semestinya, ada kendala dan kesulitan seperti memperoleh buku dengan gambar yang menarik.  Salah satu sekolah yang belum sempurna kegiatan literasinya adalah SDN PULAU KELAPA 01 PAGI Kelurahan Pulau Kelapa. Kepala sekolah mengatakan bahwa litetasi masih terseok-seok. Pengabdi  tertantang untuk melakukan pengabdian masyarakat dengan tujuan memberikan   pelatihan agar guru mampu: melaksanakan program GLS dengan memberikan umpan balik kepada siswa dan pemilihan buku yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Hasilnya guru melaksanakan GLS dengan waktu lebih dari 15 menit karena siswa diminta menulis, memberikan umpan balik, meminta siswa melanjutkan di rumah dan keesokan hari dibahas kembali. Siswa termotivasi menulis karena ada umpan balik dari guru. Ada  peningkatan hasil membaca siswa dilihat dari perkembangan menulisnya. Minat baca siswa belum terukur karena membutuhkan proses panjang, tetapi terlihat bahwa siswa mau membaca bila ditugaskan guru dan memilih buku yang menarik yaitu buku yang terkait dengan budaya
