Abstract

ABSTRAKPenyuluhan tentang pembuatan kompos organik rumah tangga telah dilakukan di Kelurahan Gebang Putih, Surabaya. Minimnya lahan dan lokasi perumahan yang padat menjadi tantangan terbesar dalam pengomposan. Oleh karena itu, pembuatan kompos sederhana dari sampah organik rumah tangga turut dikembangkan pada penyuluhan ini. Metode yang dikembangkan pada pengabdian ini adalah dengan penyuluhan langsung bersama warga setempat. Tahapan penyuluhan adalah pemilahan sampah, pembuatan kompos organik sederhana, dan diakhiri dengan praktek dalam membuat kompos organik sederhana. Sedangkan  dalam pembuatan kompos dalam skala rumah tangga sangatlah mudah. Ember bekas sebagai media komposter cukup dilubangi bagian bawahnya. Sampah coklat (daun kering, tanah, dst) ditumpuk dengan sampah hijau (sayuran, kulit buat, dst) yang disusun dengan bergantian hingga memenuhi ember. Kemudian, air leri ditambahkan di atas tumpukan sampah tersebut sebagai cairan bioaktivator. Setelah diberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan, warga mengakui bahwa wawasan dalam mengolah sampah di tengah keterbatasan lahan menjadi lebih terbuka, mudah dan tidak berbau. Keberhasilan pelatihan ini juga didukung oleh kuisioner akhir yang mana rata-rata kemampuan peserta tentang pembuatan kompos meningkat sebesar 83% dari sebelumnya. Kata Kunci: komposter; sampah organik; air leri. ABSTRACTThe training on making household organic compost has been accomplished in Gebang Putih, Surabaya. The lack of land and dense housing locations were the biggest challenges in composting. Therefore, making simple compost from household organic waste was also developed in this counseling. The method developed in this service was direct counseling with local residents. The counseling stages were waste sorting, making simple organic compost, and ending with practice in making simple organic compost. Meanwhile, making compost on a household scale was easy. The used bucket as a composter media was enough to make a hole at the bottom. Brown waste (dried leaves, soil, etc.) was stacked with green waste (vegetables, leather, etc.) which were arranged alternately until they fill the bucket. Then, leri water was added on top of the pile of waste as a bioactivator liquid. After being given counseling and training, the residents acknowledged that the insight in processing waste in the midst of limited land became more open, easy and odorless. The success of this training was also supported by the final questionnaire where the average ability of participants in composting increased by 83% from the previous one. Keywords: composter; organic trash; lei water.

Abstract

ABSTRAKProgram Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini memiliki tujuan: 1) peningkatan kemampuan kewirausahaan santriwan-santriwati Pondok Pesantren Babussalam  melalui potensi kemampuan membuat Desain Batik digital dan Blogspot, 2) peningkatan kesejahteraan santri dan pesantren yang lebih baik melalui pemanfaatan sumber daya yang memiliki nilai ekonomi, 3) terbentuknya usaha ekonomi pesantren dan kelembagaan yang terstruktur melalui unit usaha pesantren, 4) peningkatan kemampuan santri dan pesantren untuk melakukan diversifikasi produk. Kegiatan ini menggunakan dua pendekatan yaitu pendekatan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Pendekatan pelatihan meliputi : 1) Pelatihan Kewirausahaan; 2) Pelatihan dasar-dasar desain grafis, 3) Pelatihan digitalisasi desain batik, 4) Pelatihan pemanfaatan blogspot untuk media pemasaran. Sedangkan metode pendampingan meliputi :1) Pendampingan penguatan sumber daya manusia melalui peningkatan pemasaran, manajemen, dan motivasi berwirausaha; 2) Pendampingan pembentukan kelembagaan Unit Usaha Pesantren. Diharapkan hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah terwujudnya unit usaha pesantren dalam bidang batik dengan motif kekhasan yang diangkat dari motif sains, semakin meningkatnya jiwa wirausaha dan manajemen pada santri, serta peningkatan kemampuan pemasaran melalui media online. Kata kunci: corelDraw; blogspot; kewirausahaan; pendampingan. ABSTRACTThis Community Service Program has the following objectives: 1) increasing the entrepreneurial abilities of the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School students through the potential ability to create digital Batik Designs and Blogspots, 2) improving the welfare of students and pesantren through the utilization of resources that have economic value, 3) formation of the pesantren economic business and structured institutions through pesantren business units, 4) increasing the ability of santri and pesantren to diversify products. This activity uses two approaches, namely the training and mentoring approach. The training approach includes: 1) Entrepreneurship Training; 2) Basic graphic design training, 3) Batik design digitization training, 4) Training on the use of Blogspot for marketing media. While the mentoring methods include: 1) Assistance in strengthening human resources through increased marketing, management, and entrepreneurial motivation; 2) Assistance in the institutional formation of the Islamic Boarding School Business Unit. It is hoped that the results of this community service activity are the realization of a pesantren business unit in the field of batik with a unique motif that is lifted from a scientific motif, increasing entrepreneurial spirit and management in students, as well as increasing marketing skills through online media. Keywords: corelDraw; blogspot; entrepreneurship; accompaniment.

Abstract

This research addressed to utilize brem waste to be compost with the addition of M-Bio activator using aerobic composting method. Brem waste was collected from brem industry, UD. Tongkat Mas, located in the Caruban, Madiun, East Java. The main material was brem waste (1 kg) with additional materials of eggshell flour (300 g) and M-Bio activator. Here, we considered every time and the pH was measured every time interval. This brem waste was included in organic waste. This organic waste had a high water content so it can easily decompose. The temperature of compost increased as addition of M-Bio activator. The best properties was shown by the compost III that met with the standards SNI 19-7030-2004.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKegiatan pendayagunaan dan mentoring pengolahan limbah organik rumah tangga pada jurnal ini merupakan bentuk tindak lanjut dari kegiatan penyuluhan yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya (Perwitasari dkk., 2021). Dengan menggunakan metode ringkas yang irit lahan, masyarakat Kelurahan Gebang Putih telah mampu mengolah limbah organik sederhana menjadi kompos siap guna dengan menggunakan EM4 sebagai bioaktivator. Metode yang dikembangkan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah melalui metode mentoring secara online dengan kader PKK yang ada di Kelurahan Gebang Putih, Surabaya.  Meski mentoring tidak bisa dilakukan secara langsung, kader PKK bersama perwakilan warga telah berhasil mendayagunakan sampah organik rumah tangga sebagai kompos organik. Kegiatan ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan nilai guna limbah organik menjadi semakin bernilai ekonomis. Warga menjadi lebih hemat karena tak perlu lagi membeli kompos jika ingin bercocok tanam. Harapannya, kelak kompos akan menjadi salah satu peluang ekonomi yang menjanjikan bagi warga Kelurahan Gebang Putih. Kata Kunci: pendayagunaan; mentoring; EM4.ABSTRACTThe utilization and mentoring activities for simple organic waste processing in this journal are a form of follow-up to the counseling activities that have been carried out previously (Perwitasari et al., 2021). By using a compact method that saves land, the people of Gebang Putih Village have been able to process simple organic waste into ready-to-use compost using EM4 as a bioactivator. The method developed in this service activity is through an online mentoring method with PKK cadres in Gebang Putih Village, Surabaya. Although mentoring cannot be done directly, PKK cadres together with community representatives have succeeded in utilizing household organic waste as organic compost. This activity is proven to be able to increase the use value of organic waste to become more economically valuable. Residents become more efficient because they no longer need to buy compost if they want to grow crops. It is hoped that in the future compost will become a promising economic opportunity for residents of Gebang Putih. Keywords: development; mentoring; EM4.

Abstract

Islamic Boarding School throughout the history of the development of Indonesian society has played an important role, especially in the development of religious education. Currently, there is a phenomenon of the transformation of the role of Islamic Boarding School which focuses on the balance between religious knowledge and science. However, so far, capacity-building activities during the Covid-19 pandemic are considered ineffective. The batik design training program using CorelDraw software is implemented as a form of the OPOP program for the development of an Islamic Boarding School-based economy. The method of implementing this activity is by conducting training, implementation, mentoring, and networking. From the results of the field evaluation, the economic activities of the pesantren have received a very positive response from the students.

Abstract

The preparation of compost from brem waste has been carried out with the aim of utilizing brem waste into more useful materials. In this work, brem waste was collected from UD.Tongkat Mas, Madiun, East Java. Brem waste compost was processed by aerobic method by adding eggshell powder and M-Bio activator. The M-Bio activator solution that was added was varied with the volume of the solution, i.e., 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150ml. Here, we gave the sample nomenclature of CM50, CM75, CM100, CM125, and CM150, respectively, with the numbers on the back side indicating the volume of M-Bio activator added. Observations on brem compost were carried out for 10 days. Every 2 days interval, measurements of the C/N ratio were carried out on the compost. The manufacture of compost has been successfully made (based on SNI Standard 19-7030-2004) and has the best results by adding 100 ml of M-Bio activator (CM100) with a composting time of 10 days, with a C/N ratio of 11.42, and has no odor.

Abstract

Penetian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kristalinitas terhadap stabilitas termal komposit termoplastis dengan pengisis silika xerogel. Polimer yang digunakan adalah polietilena glikol (PEG 4000) yang merupakan polimer termoplastis. Silika xerogel diekstraksi melalui proses alkali fusion. Silika xerogel yang didapatkan menunjukkan fasa amorf melalui X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Silika xerogel ditambahakan ke dalam PEG 4000 dengan komposisi yang bervariasi, yaitu, 0, 5, 10, dan 20%. Penambahan silika xerogel menurunkan tingkat kristalinitas komposit karena PEG murni merupakan material semikristalin. Melalui analisis termal menggunakan Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), pengaruh kristalinitas komposit tampak jelas pada daerah sebelum polimer mengalami transisi leleh. Namun, pada daerah dekomposisi (T400°C), pengaruh kristalinitas pada komposit tidak ada lagi. Hasil ini sangat menarik dikarenakan massa dekomposisi akhir menunjukkan nilai yang sama dengan komposisi silika xerogel yang ditambahkan, misalnya pada penambahan 20%, massa yang tersisa setelah dekomposisi adalah 20,77982 %. Oleh karenanya, analisis kristalinitas sangat mendukung hasil analisis termal dengan TGA pada komposit.

Abstract

This review paper aimed to reveal several methods that have been used in the preparation of carbon dots (C-Dots). C-Dots were principal to be studied because they have luminous properties that can be used in photocatalyst processes, heavy metal sensors, glowing paints, and nanoparticles for biomedical applications such as bio-tagging. The methods that have been developed were also varied using the two principal approaches, i.e., top-down and bottom-up. Here, we tried to reveal the arc-discharge, laser ablation techniques for top-down approaches, while simple heating methods (simple hydrothermal methods), and microwave for bottom-up. Furthermore, the microwave method was excellent because of the vibration process which caused the carbon chains to undergo rearrangement so that the result was not much reducing the water content in the solution.
