Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of LKPM based on solid lipid research of trimiristin nanoparticles resulting from nutmeg seed insulation as a guide sheet of organic chemical practicum II in lipid matter. This research uses 4-D methods, consisting of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, in this study the researchers only performed until the third stage which is the development stage (develope). This research data is obtained from the results of material and media expert validation questionnaires, product practicality questionnaires as well as pretest and posttest results tested to fourth semester students who participated in organic chemistry course II.LKPM based on Research Solid Lipid Nanoparticle (SLN) Trimiristin resulting from Nutmeg Seed Isolation that has been developed obtained a value of 83.75% on media validation and obtained a value of 87.3% on material validation, which means it is in the category of highly feasible. While the practicality percentage result of 88.36 % on the small-scale test, which goes into the category strongly agrees, The average result that means students strongly agree that the products that have been developed are very practical to use. The average value of N-Gain Small Scale Test Score is 0.43, meaning it can be concluded that The Student Practicum Worksheet (LKPM) based on Solid Lipid Nanoparticle (SLN) trimiristin research resulting from Nutmeg Seed Isolation (Myristica fragrans) has moderate effectiveness value.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of feasibility, student responses, and improvement of student learning outcomes after using teaching materials developed using Lectora Inspire on Inorganic Chemistry II material. The development of teaching materials uses a 4D development model. The research subject was students of the Chemistry Education Study Program of the University of Bengkulu. The instruments in this study were undergraduate student questionnaires, validation sheets, pretest, and posttest sheets. It was found that (1) the media developed using Lectora Inspire were declared very feasible by media and material experts with percentages of 89.8% and 90.5%, (2) students' responses to the teaching materials used developed using Lectora Inspire is in the excellent category with an average percentage of 88.8%, (3) an increase in learning outcomes as measured by the average N-gain score 0.64 on the moderate criteria. The media developed using Lectora Inspire can be used as teaching materials to improve students' understanding of Inorganic Chemistry II material.   Keywords: media, learning outcomes, inorganic chemistry, chemistry bonding

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of an Interactive E-Module on Thermochemistry at SMA Negeri 3 Bengkulu City. The feasibility of this Interactive E-Module is based on the assessment of media experts and material experts. Products that are declared feasible, are known to be attractive based on a questionnaire response to the interest of students and teachers. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE type of research model. There are 2 media and material validators each who are competent in their fields. The small-scale test sample was 12 students with purposive sampling technique and for the teacher's interest response test as many as 3 chemistry teachers. The results of the feasibility of the interactive E-Module are based on the assessment of media experts getting very valid qualifications with an average percentage of 94.50%, material validation getting very valid qualifications with an average percentage of 93.88%, student responses getting very interesting qualifications with an average percentage of 91.41% and the teacher's response to getting very attractive qualifications with an average percentage of 90.55%. This shows that the interactive E-Module on the thermochemical material produced in this study is considered very feasible to be used in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve learning activity and learning achievement of chemical education students in the odd semester who took the course Mathematics for Chemistry in the academic year of 2017/2018. This is a classroom action research consisting of three cycles, each of which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. An observation sheet was used for collecting student and lecturer activities, whereas student achievement was collected using essay tests. The results show that the observation score for student activity for cycle 1, cycle 2, and cycle 3 were 20 (sufficient category), 25 (good category), and 27 (good category) respectively. Whereas, the average tests were 65.6; 80.4; and 81.3 for cycle 1, cycle 2, and cycle 3 respectively. It can be concluded that instruction of mathematics for chemistry courses aided by Microsoft Excel for students who took this course in the odd semester, the academic year of 2017/2018 could increase student learning activity and learning achievement.
