Abstract

ABSTRAK Nurhidayah M. C121 14 020. Gambaran Pengetahuan Perawat Tentang Pencegahan Dan Perawatan Luka Kaki Diabetik Di Rumah Sakit Dr Wahidin Sudirohusodo Dan Rumah Sakit Pendidikan Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar. Dibimbing oleh Saldy Yusuf dan Silvia Malasari. Latar Belakang : Kejadian penderita penyakit DM yang dari tahun ke tahun mengalami peningkatan. Salah satu komplikasi yang sering muncul pada penderita DM adalah munculnya luka kaki diabetik. Masalah luka kaki diabetik juga telah menjadi masalah di Rumah Sakit. Hal ini perlu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap tingkat pengetahuan perawat dalam melakukan pencegahan dan perawatan luka kaki diabetik di Rumah Sakit Tujuan : Mengidentifikasi gambaran pengetahuan perawat tentang pencegahan dan perawatan luka kaki diabetik di RSWS dan RSP Unhas Makassar Metode : Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian ini mengembangkan instrumen menggumakan tehnik Delphi. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Purposive Sampling dengan besar sampel yakni 100 orang. Hasil : Penelitian menunjukkan dari 100 responden ( 1 orang, 1.0 %) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang baik mengenai pencegahan luka kaki diabetik dan 92.0% memiliki pengetahuan kurang. Mengenai perawatan luka kaki diabetik (4 orang, 4.0 %) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan baik dan 60.0% responden memiliki pengetahuan kurang. Kesimpulan dan saran : Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan perawat tentang pencegahan dan perawatan luka kaki diabetik di Rumah Sakit masih kurang. Sehingga diharapkan bagi pihak Rumah Sakit agar memfasilitasi perawat dalam mengikuti pelatihan luka untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan perawat tentang pencegahan dan perawatan luka kaki diabetik. Abstract

Background: Many elderly people in Indonesia experience falling every year and the half had fallen more than once. This falls due to loss of bone and muscle mass which results in poor of balance. This study aimed to show whether balance excercise could improve muscle strength and balance on elderly people with risk of falling. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental design with two-group pretest-posttest control group. The sample was taken by purposive sampling and the total of 27 elderly people was selected into 2 groups: intervention (n = 14) and control (n = 13). The intervention group received the balance exercise regularly 3 times a week for 3 weeks. The balance exercise consists of plantar flexion, knee flexion, hip flexion, hip extention, and single leg side. Results: As an independent t test showed a significant difference in the balance and muscle strength between the intervention and the control group. Paired t-test on balance values obtained (p = 0.003) and the muscular strength (p = 0.000) which means that there was effect of balance exercise on muscle strength and balance in elderly with risk of falling. Conclusions: Balance exercise for 3 weeks regularly could improve balance score and muscle strength on the older people. Therefore, elderly people escpecially who are at risk of falling better to do balance exercise as their routine and getting support for doing this from family and health workers.

Abstract

Introduction: Knowledge and understanding of  care of families will have an impact on their attitudes and behavior in delivering care to elderly’s daily activities. By using knowledge, the family will take right attitude in caring elderly to achieve the optimal health. This study aims determine the effect of caregiver’s training to the independence level of family in caring elderly with hypertension.Method: This study used a pre experimental one group pre test post test design. The instrument was used a questionnaire and observational sheet. Sample in this study were 35 people. The test used was alternative wilcoxon test with the significance α=0.05.Result: The result was obtained that before training, all of caregivers, 35 (100 %)  at a level of independence rate I. After training, 8 (23 %) at a level of independence rate I, 8 (23 %) at a level of independence rate II, 6 (17 %) at a level of independence rate III, 13 (37.1 %) at a level of independence rate IV. There are significant effect of the independence of caregiver after training (p=0.000).Conclusion: There are also significant effect of the knowledege and skill of caregiver after training. This study recommends a further study to observe motivation of caregiver in changing their attitudes of caring to elderly.

Abstract

Background: School Health Unit is an effort to build healthy habits in order to improve students health through three main programs, namely health education, health services, and healthy environment development. Development of school resilience was conducted through a healthy school environment. Due to improving the health of school communities, an healthy school environment should be created. Purpose: To identify the indicators of healthy school environment development of school health unit program: at Public Primary Schools in Bontobahari Bulukumba district. Methods: The descriptive survey with cross sectional study design. The population of 27 schools with random cluster sampling technique. The obtained samples were 13 schools. Results: The results showed that there were 10 schools (76.9%) with good category and three schools (23.1%) with adequate category. All the schools meet the indicator of the room and buldings, lighting, garbage, noise, and sewerage. Most of the schools meet the indicator of the board distance, classroom density, clean water, cafeteria/eatery, and school grounds. Only a limited number of schools meet the indicator of the ventilation, hand-washing facility, and behavior. All the schools eligible indicators of the learners table and WC/Toilet. Conclusion: The development of healthy school environment at Public Primary Schools on sub-district of Bontobahari in Bulukumba district were in good category. It is hoped that the next researcher would examine other indicators overview of school health unit program, namely health education and health service.

Abstract

Background: Aging is a condition or individual circumstances which unavoidable. One of the attempts to achieve optimal health status is by improving the nutritional need of the society, especially the elderly.The increasing of elderly number will cause various complex problems for elderly families and society.The purpose of this research is to figure out the overview of screening and assessment of nutritional status in elderly at Pampang village in Makassar. Methods: Quantitative research with descriptive research design is used as a method of this research. Samples were obtained by using consecutive sampling with a total sample 152 eligible respondents. Results:The screening results of the first phase showed 38.2% of the elderly have a normal nutritional status, 50% of the elderly are at risk of malnutrition, and 11.8% of the elderly have a malnourished nutritional status.The results of the phase II assessment which were obtained from  94 respondents from the first phase (malnutrition respondent and respondent having risk of malnutrition) showed 7.4% of them have a normal nutritional status, 78.7% are at risk of malnutrition, and 13.8%  have a malnourished nutritional status. Conclusion: Based on the results of phase II, it is showed that more than two third of respondents (78.7%) are at risk of malnutrition. The assessment of nutritional status should be conducted every 3 months in the elderly in order to prevent the risk of malnutrition and the malnutrition it self.

Abstract

Introduction: Lower level of caring in Indonesian nurses related to emotional intelligence level of nursing, and  assertion to nurses for always being professional in any circumstances and this condition relatated to emotional intelligence which is formed when undergoing nursing education along emotional intelligence phenomena  in nurses period of education and period of profession education  between regular students and non-regular students. Method: the design of this study is descriptive research with crossectional approach. Sample selection technique using disproportionate stratified random sampling, with the number of respondent about 128 respondents. Primary data was obtained through a TEIQUE questionnaire in the form of question about Emotional Itelligence and the ability of recognizing emotion, managing emotion, self motivation, empathy, social skill Result: This study shows that, 55 % respondents have a high emotional intelligence and higer in term of recognizing emotion ability (80.5 %), managing emotion ability (56.3 %), self motivation ability (92.2 %), empathy ability (59.4 %), and social skill ability (63.3 %). Respondent characteristics who have higer in emotional intelligence were from adults (56.4 %), woman (56.4 %), unreguler students (96.4 %), widow/widowed marriage status (69.2 %), student who do not entered any organization (76.1 %), and students in seventh grade (69.4 %).Conclusion: : the result showed that more than half respondents have higer emotional intelligence (managing emotion ability, self motivation ability, empathy ability, social skill ability ) so that give us information about description of Emotional Intelligence in Undergraduate Hasanuddin University Nursing Students.

Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still a major health problem in Indonesia. Community participation is a key component of DHF control. The group of schoolchildren is part of a group of people who can play a strategic role, considering the number is very much around 20% of the population. Through this Jumantik, the elementary school children are trained as a mosquito larva (jumantik) in their school. Objective: Establishment of larva monitoring group (Jumantik) and implementation of mosquito nest eradication activity at home and at school Method: A community service activity is conducted by recruiting and providing the training for Jumantik School Children and the teachers. Before the training, the students were given with the pre-test. After the training, the students followed the post-test and were given the mosquito eradication kit to undertake the mosquito larva monitoring at school and home. Result: As much as nine elementary students and three teachers were formed as jumantik volunteers from three different elementary schools namely Malewang, Palleko and Pangembang . The result of pre-test of 9 students, the average score of 8.67 (maximum points 15) with the highest score 11 and the lowest score 6. While the post test results obtained an average value of 11, 89 with the highest value 14 and the lowest value 10. The forms of activity for this program were: establishment of Jumatik school children, distribution of mosquito eradication kit, distribution of leaflet and stickers as the media of health promotion, provision of certificate of training of Jumantic school children and the teachers, the establishment of Plan of Action (POA) of the program and the production of second-hand good products. Conclusion and Suggestion: There are six activities that was implemented in this community service activity. It is suggested that the school to carry out routine activities according to the POA that has been agreed and the community health center can supervise the activity undertaken by the Jumantik school children. Keywords: Jumantik, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, school children, mosquito eradication

Abstract

Introduction: The high level of risk emergency psychiatry nurse becomes the target of aggressive behavior in patients both physically and psychologically, providing a special experience for nurses. Positive and negative impacts felt more likely a psychological effect on the nurse. Objective: Identifying the experiences of nurses dealing with patient of aggressive behavior in Emergency Psychiatric of Rumah Sakit Khusus Daerah Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Methods: The phenomenological approach to decision informants using purposive sampling with the informant as much as 9 informants who have experienced aggressive behavior from patients. Results: There were 7 themes obtained by the feelings of nurses with aggressive behavior patients, nurses experienced different kinds of aggressive behavior,  nurses identified about the causes of the patient's aggressive behavior, nurse found some signs of the patient while being aggressive, nurses perceived impact of agresive behavior after getting the incident of it, the way nurses treated patients aggressive behavior, and nurses found obstacle to overcome aggressive behavior's patient. The positive experience of nurses in dealing with patient of aggressive behavior was nurse know the proper ways, causes and signs of the patient while being aggressive so the nurse was able to anticipate the action will be carried out. On the other hand the negative experience felt by the nurse due to the impacts of the aggressive behavior patients. Conclusions and:  The experience felt by nurses in dealing with patients in Psychiatric Emergency Unit of Rumah Sakit Khusus Daerah Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan there were positive and negative. Therefore, we need a way to reduce aggressive behavior and provide management training for nurses in dealing with aggressive behavior in order to keep patients safely.

Abstract

Introduction: Indonesia is an archipelago country that has a diversity of race, culture and customs. Not infrequently customs that are believed by some to be not only a positive impact, but sometimes have a negative impact, especially in health problems.To identify Mabbakkang indigenous phenomenon and its effect on the health of the communities in the District Bacu-Bacu, Pujananting Barru. Method: Type of studi isQualitative research (phenomenology) was performed on 9 participants who have experience in custom undergo Mabbakkang through interview techniques in-depth interviews and data were analyzed by thematic analysis the technique developed by Colaizzi. Result: This study resulted in 7 themes on a custom implementation Mabbakkang ie execution time, the implementation, a series of execution, people involved, dietary restrictions, reason, and the consequences of breaking taboos. Conclusions: This study shows that a custom implementation Mabbakkang is one tradition that is held each year as a condition for the perfection of a child-Bacu-Bacu village communities and give effect on the health of the communities in the District Bacu Bacu-Pujananting Barru if breaking taboos.
